  1. I’m so sorry, inane. I’ve been kicking tires on Koivu for the whole year, hoping to drive the price down. Guess I did. Too soon?
  2. @JimLahey https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/penguins-matt-murray-listed-day-day-upper-body-injury/ I’m sure it’s nothing...
  3. It’s alright, you received soon to be extended Kronwall in return.
  4. Carolina Hurricanes Depth/Bubble Players OTB All the below available for a combo of pick(s). Forwards: Kenny Agostino: 26 years old ($950k), current NHL player on the Montreal Canadiens. 11 points in 36 games this season. Keegan Kolesar: Tough guy to trade, mostly because he's a Winnipeg boy. 3rd round draft pick in 2015 who's currently in the AHL (Vegas affiliate). He's a bruiser. Will primarily be used for PIMs and crash and bang points. Nathan Smith: 2018 3rd round draft pick by the Winnipeg Jets. 34 points in 38 games for Cedar Rapids. Jayden Halbgewachs: 21 year old undrafted forward, who plays on the second line for the San Jose AHL affiliate. First year in the league and has 24 points in 39 games. Fredrik Olofsson: 22 year old Chicago Blackhawks 4th round pick in 2014. He's in his last year in college, and currently leading University of Omaha in points, with 30 in 24 games. Carsen Twarynski: 21 year old Philly 3rd round pick in 2016. Playing on the 4th line in the AHL, with 15 points in 43 games. Plays with an edge and tries to mold his game off of "The Rat". Defensemen: Jonathan Kovacevic: 2017 Winnipeg Jets 3rd round draft pick. Plays for Merrimack College. Massive defenseman, who leads the team on the backend, with 14 points in 24 games. 5 points from eclipsing career high, which he has 12 games to do. Jacob Bryson: Buffalo Sabres 2017 4th round pick. Leads all defensemen on Providence with 20 points in 28 games. 100% offensive forward. Watched him play a week (or so) ago. I'm no scout, but loved his speed and vision. PP goal he scored was a nice slapper. Alex Lintuniemi: 23 year old, 2014 LA 2nd round draft pick. 16 points in 41 games. On pace to eclipse career high of 24 points. Kings know how to draft and develop players who make the NHL. Alexandre Carrier: 22 year old, Nashville 4th round pick in 2015. Plays on the 2nd pair in the AHL. Always been an offensive defenseman. Has had to work at being responsible defensively. Having a better year this year than last year, as last year's team was brutal overall. Dennis Gilbert: 2015 3rd round pick by the Blackhawks. More defensive, and has been compared to Hjalmarsson. First year in the AHL after spending 3 seasons with Notre Dame. Mac Hollowell: 2018 4th round pick by the Maple Leafs. The offensive defenseman has 58 points in 46 games (including 19 goals). Noice. Goalies: Eric Comrie: Cannot trade him until July 27th (offer sheet not matched), but can agree to a trade beforehand and trade at that point. Eric has been steamrolling lately, with a .921% save percentage. LOVE Comrie, but with Hart and DeSmith, my crease is set. And with Comrie either getting traded IRL due to Brossoit (or Brossoit getting traded), he'll be an NHL backup next year. But no room in my lineup going forward, so I feel like I need to make room for him. Ivan Nalimov: Chicago Blackhawks 2014 6th round pick. Last year in the KHL and will be signing with the Hawks shortly. With Crawford's long term status up in the air, and Cam Ward not signed beyond this season, the belief is he'll either be the starter in the AHL, or challenge for the backup job for the Hawks. Collin Delia: Ah, Delia. Backing up Ward in the NHL. Has rocketed up the depth chart in Chicago, and currently has a .922% save percentage. Signed an extension with me as he was an RFA, but was also clear that he didn't want more than a year as he wanted to have a backup role soon. Unlikely Goalie to be traded: Karel Vejmelka: 2015 5th round pick by the Preds. Going to be clear, here. While not as well known as the above guys, I'm not too inclined to trade Karel. Those who know me, know that I know goalies better than any other position, as I played it for so long. I've followed Vejmelka very closely over the years (like all my goalies), and I know his potential. He's crossing the pond this year to be the starter in the AHL next year. So, if I do trade him, I'm not underselling him because he's unknown to most. He would cost higher than people are likely willing to pay. All the other goalies I'm making available, people are aware of who they are and what their worth is (as I do). But Karel is unknown to most. This is more of a prospect update than anything. If you want him, absolutely reach out and we can discuss (like all the rest available).
  5. The Calgary Flames have signed Joel “That” Persson to a 2 year contract, worth $2M ($1M AAV). @BM24 @Nail
  6. The Los Angeles Kings have signed Colin Blackwell to a 2 year contract, worth $2.7M ($1.35M AAV). @D-Money @Nail
  7. The Vancouver Canucks have extended Jeff Petry to a 4 year contract extension, worth $23M ($5.75M AAV). Deal comes with a full NMC in the first 3 years, and a 10 team trade list LNTC in the final year. @Primal Optimist @Nail
  8. Agent Announcement Just a heads up that I will be leaving next week Thursday (Feb 14th-Feb 25th). Due to this, I will be unable to talk extension for upcoming UFAs. Better to reach out now to myself (and Nail in PM) to see whether player will extend or not. There are NO guarantees that a player will extend. No matter how long a player has been with a club or how good/bad a team has been. There are also no guarantees that a UFA who gets traded will extend with their new club. So should you trade for a pending UFA, be advised that, even if you have a whole in the lineup going forward at said position, said player may still test free agency.
  9. Maybe A Playoff Roster??? Panarin - Kadri - Laine Johnsson - Kotkaniemi- Voracek Faksa - Thornton - Frolik Lemieux - Ryan - Armia Aston Reese Kassian Dumba - Byfuglien Martinez - Pulock Simek - Andersson Coburn - Zaitsev Ozhiganov Smith DeSmith Hart If players get traded IRL, and the Flyers continue winning like they have, that would by far be my strongest playoff roster to date. If the inevitable happens and I’m out of the first round again, then I may just have to blow the whole thing up. So, I’m looking for bold moves. Ukko, O’Brien, Bowers, Brook, Perunovich. All available.
  10. Did I read his stats correctly? 6 points in 44 games?
  11. Thanks to Nail for processing. One of the many great things about the league. Really speedy. Also, thanks to @Primal Optimist for easy discussions, as well. Over the course of my time on FL, have gotten to know quite a number of you on a more personal level, which is always a nice added bonus. Can say that's another reason (along with tireless work from Nail for constantly looking at ways to improve the league) I can't see myself ever leaving. Primal is someone I really admire and hope to have the pleasure of meeting one day. As for the trade, it's a double edged sword. Maroon is likely playoff bound, so him moving doesn't really make sense for me. However, his cap hit added to my roster being right up against the ceiling. Shedding it means I'll have a few million next season to tinker with my line up. Had I not moved out a contract, even calling up Hart would have been difficult. So this helps.
  12. The Dallas Stars have extended the following players: Alex Tuch: $5.75M x 8 Noah Hanifin: $5.75M x 6 @Dak Prescott @Tony Romo @Nail
  13. Carolina Movement: Pending Trade Call Call Up: Andreas Johnsson @Nail
  14. Carolina Hurricanes - Yup, Me Again Shane Bowers, Jay O’Brien, and Julien Gauthier are also available.
  15. I know, was just messing around. Great adds in that trade, though.
  16. Great trade! Especially for @JE14. Not only because he went to the West, but those future!
  17. Carolina New OTB Patrick Maroon Can be to any team that’s not a bottom 8 team (sorry fellas). Looking for a pending UFA playoff player in return. Depending on quality of player, will grease the wheels on my end. Due to the time of year and me leaving in a week and a half, basically no more d*cking around on my end (or vice-versa). Quick negotiations to get something done. You want a specific player/prospect, come out and say it. I’ll do the same. Do you like football and the Super Bowl? Me neither. So let’s talk some trades!
  18. All these rebuilding teams to trade with. Too bad I have no assets to part with
  19. Carolina Movement: Assign: Igor Ozhiganov to the AHL. Activate: Dustin Byfuglien off IR and place on roster. @Nail —————— Igor Ozhiganov OTB.
  20. Velvet Buzzsaw New film by Dan Gilroy (Nightcrawler). Do not go in expecting anything similar to Nightcrawler, though. Also, just because the characters in it are part of the art community and it takes place largely in galleries, this isn't a movie to overthink. Pretentious art setting or not, this is a straight up slasher/horror/thriller movie. Like the fun "killer of the week" ones. It isn't great, but if you sit back and take it for what it is, like you would any other slasher movie, then you'll see the fun in it.
  21. January Studs & Duds STUDS: Artemi Panarin: 88 pool points The days of waiting for the other shoe to drop are long gone. Panarin has proven that he is an elite forward who can score at an incredible rate, even when “coached” by Torts. Eagerly awaiting him to get traded to Tampa IRL for a playoff run. Jakub Voracek: 65 pool points Jakub just goes about his work in the least interesting and sexy way possible. Sort of reminds me of Lindstrom in that you don’t really notice him, but he’s doing his part. Michael Frolik: 57 pool points Good old dependable Frolik. Always loved the guy. The “Swiss Army Knife” of whatever roster he happens to be on. Still blown away that Bill Peters wasn’t playing the guy. All he did was score at a near PPG basis in January. DUD: Patrik Laine: 22 pool points Not worried about him. I view him much like Phil Kessel. Very good complimentary player to have on a winning team. But Nikita Zaitsev, Igor Ozhiganov, and Zack Kassian had more pool points than him
