  1. Love complex films, just not required for every viewing or every film. This one included.
  2. Yeah, exactly 30 minutes into it right now. Very, very close to turning it off.
  3. And for me, I don't think a survival/revenge film set in the 1800s is the right place for that.
  4. The Revenant - I really enjoyed it/10 Yes, it's a simple revenge/survival film. But I liked it. Life was incredibly rough back in the day and people had very simple needs and no wants. Survive, survive, survive. I think crapping on the script and simplicity of the characters is unwarranted, seeing as though people didn't have time to make their life complex. Get food and supplies by any means necessary. That's it.
  5. While I go to iTunes for music, I am looking forward to watching Revenant, Scario, and Brooklyn soon... I've said before and I stand by it. Interstellar would have been better served had it been given the HBO 10 episodes miniseries format.
  6. Going to see it on Wednesday. Haven't heard anything yet, but considering I'm not a Star Wars fan, I'm predicting a 6.5.
  7. Hope you like it. Most fun I've had this year playing a game.
  8. I remember some chick I worked with who said, "If you like movies, you should watch The Ugly Truth and Just Married (Kutcher and Murphy)." I just chuckled and told her that I would look into it.
  9. Jeez, I forgot about Law Abiding Citizen. That was horrendous.
  10. Wife and I just finished watching The Phantom Menace. I remember it being bad, but it was WAY worse than I remembered. My wife is the eternal optimist and is usually not critical, and she was more bothered by it than I was throughout. Best part was at the end when Liam Neeson died. The look on his face when he was impaled by the lightsaber, my wife said, "That is the look of relief that he no longer had to act in this piece of sh*t."
  11. I always thought he lost out on it. If, in fact, he turned it down, that was a poor decision on his part.
  12. Been meaning to watch it. Was a big Clive Owen fan for the longest time (Croupier FTW), until he just fell off the face of the planet. Him losing out on James Bond to Daniel Craig sure didn't help things.
  13. It's worth watching again, simply for how bad it is. But that arm machine he has in his truck is unreal. Also, in the arm wrestling tournament, he squares off against a guy who downs about a litre of motor oil right before the match. WTF! Next movie on the list is Tom Selleck's 1984 film, Runaway.
  14. I've been thinking about seeing Blackhat, but Michael Mann has released nothing but crap since Collateral.
  15. I watch so many movies, that I don't even come on here and rate about 20% of them. Watched this a few days ago, though. And yes, it is a terrible movie. That betting scene at the Super Bowl was unbelievably dumb.
  16. It's such a laughably bad movie. Really liked Stallone's "silent, simple but feels" character he played throughout the 70s and 80s, up until he did Demolition Man (terrific). But this movie's storyline is so weird/dumb.
  17. That's right, he got a late night show. Totally forgot.
  18. Easily my favourite show to premiere over the last several years. Really thought when it premiered that it would be good for about 8 episodes, and then lose it's appeal very quickly. But very, very impressed with how they've handled every character and the transition to "normal" life. So much feel in that last episode. Did not expect the show to have so much heart and invoke so much feeling, while remaining witty and clever.
  19. Over the Top - Holy Sh*t/10 Sylvester Stallone ARM WRESTLING/SEMI TRUCK DRIVER/FATHER-SON BONDING film from the 80s. This made zero sense. Unbelievably stupid.
  20. While it would be something if Mad Max won, can't imagine they would give it to an action movie, no matter how good it is. And it is fantastic. That said, even though The Revenant isn't out yet, I'm hoping that or The Martian takes it. Also, hopefully this is the year Leo takes home an award. If not, I'm sure his millions of dollars will be a nice consolation prize.
  21. This show looked insanely stupid. I haven't heard anything about Phoenix, but Spotlight is suppose to be phenomenal. As for Room, bring some kleenex.
  22. Totally agree. I keep thinking that maybe I don't like cartoons anymore because I'm a 33 year old man. But then something like this comes out and then I remember, "Oh, no that's not it at all. They just barf out whatever crap looks good to 5 year olds, in the hopes that something like this might come along once every 10 tries."
