Can always count on you to fils me in on anything currency related.

Killing it or not, it's still illegal and against the law.

Station Agent is easily in my top 10 films released since 2000.

Been on vacation since Friday, flew out to BC to see in-laws. And yet, still have time to watch a film (or two). Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp - 10/10 While technically a tv show, I'm considering it a film, as the episodes run together as a movie. Long story short, fantastic. --------------------------------------- Obvious Child - 5.5/10 Wow, was I ever disappointed. First, I have always, ALWAYS enjoyed Jenny Slate in everything she has done. From her one, very under appreciated season on SNL, to her performance on Parks and Rec as Mona Lisa Saperstein, to her voice work on Bob's Burgers. Perhaps a romantic comedy centred around abortion was not something I find overly "romantic".

Watched it last night with wife and sister in-law. It was a lot of fun. I've said it before and I'll say it again, whether you like Tom Cruise or not (none of us actually know him so it shouldn't matter), the guy ALWAYS gives 110% in his movies. As a popcorn film, it gets a solid 9/10 from me. Lots of fun.

'ikes. Didn't know it had been in my queue that long. Well, it will still be a while before I watch it.

Haven't yet. Been in my Netflix queue for a few months. Heard its weird, but good.

Loved this film. Mark Duplass has been putting out quality performances for a while now. Was also pleasantly surprised at Plaza's performance. Generally do not like her schtick.

Ant Man - 5.5/10 It was enjoyable enough for a blockbuster. Typical Paul Rudd charm and humor, which I never get tired of (really looking forward to Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp). But like I've said numerous times, there is not much that sets this apart from any other Marvel film, apart from Rudd. It was fun to see with the wife, but I'll never watch it again.

Happy so many of you have watched The Drop. How a movie like this can go ignored by theatres and critics is mindboggling to me, much like Take Shelter was ignored by audiences. To me, Hardy is the most talented and diverse actor of his generation.

Funny, I avoid movies if Vaughn is in them. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Insurgent - 1/10 Wife and I watched it last night. This movie is the equivalent of that person at a party that has nothing going on and doesn't contribute to any conversation. They're just "there". You don't dislike them, but there is nothing to bond with them over, either. You don't dislike any of the characters, but you don't like them either. What's worse, you don't care about any of them. My wife read the books and said they were enjoyable enough, but the movies, particularly this one, are just a waste of time. If any of the characters were in a "tough" situation, I couldn't have cared less if they lived or died. You don't get attached to any of them.

Batman: Mask of the Phantasm - 10/10 Just started this, but this was one of my favourite cartoons movies as a kid. I have seen it so many times. Not only one of the best Batman films made, but one of the best superhero films ever, despite it being a cartoon.

I haven't been excited to watch a movie in a while. Another great thing about getting old. But I have been waiting to see this for quite some time. Leo is very consistent, Hardy just seems to be attached to awesome projects (excluding This Means War), and Will Poulter is also starting to make noise as well. All in all, this is going to be a solid film.

The "not remembering too much from it" is exactly what I got out of it. I watched the first 30 minutes, and everything was forgettable. I just knew that if I continued, it was going to be 2 hours I was never going to get back. All I remember is the cyclops got sprayed with "Mist" to get two eyes, they took a cab ride that was eerily similar to Harry Potter and the double decker bus scene, and Nathan Fillion ran a postal service, because he was Hermes. But I walked out right after that. I mean, it wasn't terrible, just forgettable. I actually don't mind watching terrible films if they're memorable and easy to make fun of. But forgettable films bother me. I gave it a 9.5. Loved it.

Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters - Walked out of the room/10 Wife watched the whole thing. I left the room to watch numerous episodes of The League. I like my decision better.

I do have great taste in movies You absolutely should. Even without Hardy's stellar performance, it's a great story. But he is really solid.

Over the last year, my "elitist" attitude has dwindled to pretty much nothingness. I've actually watched two films in the last few weeks with Sean Penn. First Gangster Squad and now his little bit role in Walter Mitty. I actually liked the scene with Sean Penn. Thought it was well done and was actually the highlight of the second half (not saying much). But yeah, the second half was a letdown for sure. And while I really like Adam Scott, I don't remember the last time I saw someone in the corporate world act like the quarterback picking on the nerd in high school. If this was essential to the plot, which I really don't think Adam Scott's character needed to be written that way, then at least cast someone that doesn't look like he was the nerd that everyone picked on high school.

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty - 5/10 First half, really good. Second half, big letdown.

Consider yourself lucky you didn't watch the whole thing. I could get into what was wrong with the movie, but it would be easier to say what they did right. What they did right: - People showed up for work.

Creep - 7/10 For the most part, this is how I like my horror/thriller movies. Done in the "found footage" way, but with a clever little twist. The writer/director Patrick Brice plays Aaron, who responds to a Craigslist ad for $1000 to film a guy for an entire day. He meets up with Josef (played by Mark Duplass) at his second home, who informs him that he has brain cancer, and wants Aaron to record him for the day as he makes a video for his unborn son. Also, like most horror films, the shorter the better. At 80 minutes (credits included), this insures that each scene is actually necessary to the plot. While I wouldn't say this is a "Hard R" rating, as there isn't any gore, blood, or bad language. I also would not recommend watching this in the same room with a kid. It is unsettling and disturbing.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 - 1/10 Terrible.

Only going to comment on two of the films. 1. Chappie - Best review I've read so far. 2. Jupiter Ascending - You gave it 5 points too much. Boy oh boy was there a lot wrong with this movie. This just might be the dumbest film ever made. Apparently they made Channing Tatum wear some sort of weird mouthpiece so he wouldn't look so human. However, the mouthpiece gave him extreme difficulties when it came to delivering his lines. So if anyone was wondering why it was difficult to understand him, that's the reason. Apparently the script was over 600 pages long, and most scripts are only 200; so instead of having any exposition, they just skipped over everything that would have explained whatever the hell was going on. I could go on all day. I laughed my ass off throughout this turd. I'm certainly not angry at this film, more in awe that it was actually made.

Not a movie, but have been watching the BBC miniseries, The Honorable Woman, starring Maggie Gyllenhaal. One more episode to go and then it's over. However, I'd already give it a 9.5/10. Nearly flawless. Gyllenhaal, who I have never really cared for, puts forth an absolutely terrific performance. Like a few of my reviews I've done, I'd rather say nothing about it and let you go in knowing nothing. Makes it a lot better. Highly, highly recommend. It is difficult to watch at times, due to some of it's more graphic content.

It Follows - 8/10 Original horror flick that is not scary at all. Definitely has that 1980s feel to it, much like House of the Devil; although set in modern day. Music was terrific and the acting was as good as it could have been. Not going to say anything else about it, as you're best going into it cold.

I know, I know. It's free and I feel like watching something that I don't have to concentrate during.
