I just don't understand the adoration for Shawshank. It was enjoyable enough, but overrated it most certainly is. The only memorable thing about Shawshank Redemption, for me at this point, is a recent episode of The Last Man on Earth with Will Forte. His character clearly hasn't seen the movie, and his "quoting" of the movie is terrific. Forte: "My favorite part? Ah, so many to choose from. Well, it's probably when, ah, you know, when Shawshank realizes..." Forte: interrupting the conversation "It truly was a Shawshank Redemption".

Watched this about a month ago and could not have been more bored.

I'm with you, both on Bible and audiobooks. My drive to work went from 6 minutes to 45 minutes since November. Music has become a little "repetitive" now, so listening to a lot more audiobooks and podcasts.

Picked up my PS4 this last weekend. Came with LTOU, but I won't play it as I already finished it nearly two years ago on the PS3. Otherwise, purchased Shadow of Mordor and Watch Dogs (for $14.99 new). Played about 5 hours of SoM so far, pretty good. Typical hack and slash. One thing I've loved about the PS4 already over the PS3 is how quickly it goes to the Playstation Store. The PS3 always took long to load the Store.

Going to try and remember everything I watched over the last week. Need for Speed - 3/10 Because my expectations were as low as they could possibly get, it was better than I expected. That said, it is still awful. End of review. -------------------------------------- A Long Way Down - 7/10 Another Aaron Paul film. This was surprisingly better than I expected it to be. Four strangers bump into each other on New Years Eve at the top of a tower as they all are there to commit suicide. They then make a pact to not kill themselves until at least Valentine's Day. Interesting narrative structure, tell the story from one person to the next, but only in time from New Year's to Valentine's, and never overlapping. For example, Pierce Brosnan's character is followed at the start of the film, then Imogen Poots' character for thee next couple weeks, followed by Aaron Paul's character for the next few weeks, then Toni Collette's character for the final weeks. Due to Brosnan's character's celebrity in the film (disgraced ex-television host) and Poots' father in the film who is a politician, they are all followed around by the media constantly. So, instead of going at it alone for the next 6 weeks, they all form a bond. As someone who had a close friend commit suicide, as well as at times 7+ years ago dealing with my own suicidal issues, this was a very touching film with moving performances, especially by Toni Collette. Recommend. ------------------------------ Drive - 9/10 Watched it for a second time yesterday, as it had been a few years. Still as good as I remembered. End of review.

Take that "6", turn it into a "0", and then we are nearing just how awful American Sniper truly is.

Jane Krakowski's character is never really funny, except when they get more into her back story involving her parents. All her flashbacks were really solid. Her character is actually missing from a few episodes as well. So although her character is "important", she's not central. Wait until you piece together the connection between the Reverend that locked them up and 30 Rock, it's pretty sweet. They never call attention to it in the show, though. Only reason I got it was because I just finished 30 Rock a few weeks ago. While the final two episodes with the Reverend are probably the best of the series, the one with Nick Kroll where Kimmy rides a bike is probably the best.

As the shows moves forward, especially towards the end, she definitely catches up fairly quickly.

Speaking of tv shows, also enjoying The Last Man on Earth, starring Will Forte and Kristen Schaal. First episode and a half was a little tough to get through, but last night's episode was really good. The premise will probably get old fairly quickly though. This show screams BBC format. Do a few and then leave.

In the middle of listening to most recent Comedy Bang! Bang! podcast.

Believe it's still going on. Still not sure what I'll get as the +1. Not really an online gamer, so I don't think I'll get Destiny. Probably will pass on NBA 2K15, even though it is getting rave reviews. Probably be between Far Cry and LBP3. Really enjoyed the first LBP, was cute.

Picking up my PS4 either end of the week or midway through next week, depending when my Futureshop Gift Certificate is delivered. Thanks AMEX points! Aside from Shadow of Mordor, not sure what else to get. Was thinking of getting Watch Dogs, just because it's on sale everywhere. Passing on Dragon Age, just because I don't have time for it. I love Skyrim, but I still haven't finished that yet. In short, no more marathon games. Getting Mordor for sure, but any other suggestions? Not getting NHL 15, Last of Us (have it on PS3) or GTAV (have on PS3).

Like every other show, it gets better and does hit its stride after 4-5 episodes. I have no problem admitting to being wrong, and I was definitely wrong about 30 Rock. The first season, to me, is still incredibly tough to get through. However, the more I watched it, the more it grew on me. Am I saying that because this was created by Tina Fey that Kimmy Schmidt is on the same level? No. But it certainly has a ton of potential. The first episode reminds me of the first episode of Arrested Development. Not good. But the rest of the season gets better and better. Martin Short's appearance as a plastic surgeon is absolutely fantastic. And the final two episodes when Nick Kroll, Tina Fey, Jerry Minor, and Jon Hamm play prominent roles are absolutely worth sticking it out for. Give it a shot, D. It's only 13 episodes. Also, for you 30 Rock enthusiasts, once you hear the name of the Reverend who held the girls captive, you can't help but smile.

If you got through 3 episodes, you gave it a fair shot. You either like it or you don't. No need to give it another shot.

Not a movie, but the new Netflix show created by Tina Fey "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" starring Ellie Kemper. Has the same feel as 30 Rock. So good. Wife and I blasted through all 13 episodes this weekend. Premise, Kemper is rescued from being help captive in a bunker for 15 years and moves to New York to start over. Just like everything else she is in, Kemper is adorable and incredibly likeable. Lots of guest stars, especially in the final two episodes. Worth watching. A+.

Don't forget Midnight In Paris. Easily the most accessible Woody Allen film for those who are not even fans of his. Just read that you were referring to his movies set in New York.

Definitely is. I will say that while there is chemistry between Bell and Martin, the relationship seems quite juvenile. The nervousness they have around each other is pretty bad. But I've been married for quite some time, so I forget how nervous people can be around people they like when single. But it was a good date movie. Wasn't sure that Mrs. Monty would enjoy it, but she was chuckling throughout.

In A World... 8.5/10 Terrific film that was written, directed, and starring Lake Bell. Supporting actors Demetri Martin, Michaela Watkins, Rob Cordry, Nick Offerman, Ken Marino, and Geena Davis star. Long story short, the three famous words that used to begin movie trailers "In A World..." are being resurrected for a new YA Quadrilogy. However, the voiceover roles, traditionally, have always gone to men. In A World... is the story about a voice coach, portrayed amazingly by Lake Bell, who manages get her name on the shortlist of those vying for the position. Cute, funny, and quirky. There's nothing not to love about this movie. Even Rob Cordry, who manages to successfully portray d*ckheads who you loath in every film, is incredibly likable in this film. Must see.

I've been leaning towards Shadow of Mordor. It seems like it's easier to get into. Being in my 30s now, I don't devote nearly as much times to vids like I used to. Can't really afford to jump into a game like Dragon Age anymore.

Picking up a PS4 in a few weeks. For those that have played both Dragon Age and Shadow of Mordor, which would you suggest as one over the other?

A.C.O.D - 6/10 Enjoyable enough, but a very sensitive subject for the writer/director to end up making a final statement and say "Children who grow up in a broken home or with married parents are better/worse off." So the safe stance was taken, make no statement. Less than an hour and a half. So why not? -------------------- Draft Day - Watched this 2 hours ago and forget it/10

While I love every P&R episode after season 1, any episode involving Tammy 2, Jean Ralphio, or Mona Lisa are easily the best ones.
