  1. Nothing like a bit of humor from Dinar Money.
  2. Also featured voices from the guy who plays Moriarty from Sherlock and the girl who plays Alice from Luther.
  3. Been a couple months since I watched it, and I still think about it from time to time. This is the type of movie my wife usually hates (i.e. However, she loved the message that Trying to think about films set in one room that were a good watch. The first that comes to mind is Buried with Ryan Reynolds. While not terrific, it was very well done. Dial M for Murder is a great Hitchcock film set in one location. Thought there was another I watched recently. But I guess not.
  4. Sharknado 2 - 6/10 While I absolutely hated the first one, even on a purely "It's so bad it's good" rating scale. This one, however, was actually a lot of dumb fun. Wife and I had a lot of fun pointing out the absurdity of what was going on. "We're reporting that we'll see roughly 2 inches of sharkfall (rainfall) in the next hour." 2 inches of shark is like the bottom 2 inches of a shark's body.
  5. Punch Drunk Love is the only Sandler film I can tolerate. Great performances all around. Mary Lynn Rajskub was terrific as the "awful sister".
  6. Pitch Perfect - 3/10 Not a fan of the whole Glee thing to begin with. Heard it was a satire and thought, "Why Not" It sucks, that's "Why Not?".
  7. Hmm, trying to think what Marvel character smacks his lips with his tongue constantly.
  8. Oculus - 2/10 Started off strong(ish) and got progressively worse. The worst thing a film can do is be predictable, and this film had it in spades. Should you take time to watch it, be prepared that your guess as to what is going to happen is the blatantly obvious. You wouldn't think in a million years a writer would follow through on this, and yet it happens throughout.
  9. Will be watching this within the next week or so.
  10. Really? While I'm neither here nor there on Gyllenhaal, I didn't think anything was missing from Zodiac, Prisoners, or End of Watch. While I really enjoyed Source Code, I did get the sense there. However, that feeling of "something missing" is the case with a lot of movies. Except Man of Steel.
  11. As well as Black Book and The Pianist.
  12. My new job is a lot less formal than my previous one. Since part of my job (at times) requires me to enter info that gets uploaded to our company's website, I'm able to wire in and listen to music, which is pretty sweet. So I've discovered Rdio, which I did not know was a thing until a week ago. So, I'm currently listening to Yeezus, because it's free and "why not"? (aside from the fact that it's Kanye). Not bad.
  13. Doubt is definitely worth watching, just not more than once. Pirate Radio is incredibly forgettable. While I like all the actors in it, it was nothing more than a "background music" movie.
  14. For my own personal opinion, yes I do know what I'm talking about. I think it's garbage.
  15. In no particular order: 1. Boogie Nights - great in his small role 2. The Big Lebowski - everyone steals scenes in that film, but PSH is so good with his uncomfortable laughing 3. Magnolia - Of all the powerhouse performances in this ensemble cast, Hoffman is by far the strongest 4. Punch Drunk Love - The only film where Adam Sandler is tolerable. Hoffman is phenomenal, as usual. 5. Red Dragon - Very underrated film. Hoffman is largely ignored, but worth watching anyway, especially due to Ralph Fiennes' performance. 6. 25th Hour - I only like 2 Spike Lee movies. Not surprisingly, he didn't write either of them. 7. Cold Mountain - I was surprised by how much I liked this movie. Hoffman's role is secondary and largely forgettable. 8. Charlie Wilson's War - I need to watch this again, because all I remember was how terrific Hoffman was. 9. The Savages - Haven't seen it, but heard it was really good. 10. Doubt - I'd say it's worth watching. I liked it, but I don't think I'd watch it again. 11.The Master - Ridiculously underrated. I didn't like The Talented Mr. Ripley, so I personally wouldn't recommend it. As for a "fluff" film, he was really good in Mission Impossible 3, although the movie was "meh", at best. Haven't seen A Most Wanted Man yet, but that is on my list to see. DO NOT WATCH "Synecdoche, New York." I love PSH and Catherine Keener, but this film is 2 hours of Charlie Kaufman patting his back as he sucks his own d*ck. The most pretentious garbage I have ever had the displeasure of sitting through.
  16. One of my all-time favorites. While the whole film is absolutely fantastic, my favorite moment is the "not-so subtle" train entering the tunnel at the end of the film. Sex sells, even back in the 50s.
  17. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - 7/10 I actually enjoyed this one more than the other 2. Had a little more character development. Haven't (and won't) read the books, so I'm not sure how things unfold compared to the films, but this one had quite a few plot holes and misfires that really brought my rating down. I enjoyed myself more than I did in the first two, though.
  18. I understand where he's coming from, even though I enjoyed it. And you can't trust Rotten Tomatoes when it comes down to personal opinion. For instance, RT gave The Avengers a 92%, but I would give it a solid "Snoozefest/10". Thor was also a 77%, and that was dumb as f*ck. As for Guardians of the Galaxy, I believe I gave it an 8/10, so it was definitely better than most superhero films that come out. And to be fair to D-Money, a 6/10 rating on a superhero film is quite high for him.
  19. The Adjustment Bureau - 1/10 Wowzers. This. Was. Terrible. I could get into how excruciating this was, but I'd rather perform a lobotomy on myself. Really stupid movie.
  20. I seriously doubt this happens. I remember Brad Pitt saying the exact same thing about 4-5 years ago, that he was going to retire from acting at the age of 50. Didn't happen. We'll be seeing her boney ass on screen for years to come.
  21. Closer is one of my favourite films of the 2000s.
