  1. Kipper going to drag my team in if it kills him. Also, congrats on to Stan Kaebel on a solid WJ. 8 points in 7 games. Great performance by a 3rd round pick
  2. As someone mentioned, I believe on Twitter. How is this any different than the Leafs signing of Alexander Barabanov?
  3. Chances are slim, but Kipper playing out of his mind to drag this team into the postseason.
  4. I'm perfectly fine not getting a top 3 pick and selecting "good prospects" in the top 10, as long there are positives to take from the Leafs performance. Kipper continues to put up terrific numbers, and my youth is playing really well. I've got 7 rookies in my lineup, all playing relatively well. Hopefully they continue to develop and haven't hit their ceiling already

  6. Enemy Never watched it before. Not quite sure how I feel about it. I get what it’s saying. It’s well written and well acted. Definitely not Denis Villeneuve’s best movie, but it’s far from a dud. Still really good. But compared to the rest of his recent string of films since 2013, it’s at the bottom of the list. But again, that’s saying something. Because the dude knows how to make a phenomenal movie.
  7. Pros: - Despite a losing record, Kiprusoff has a .923sv%. - Bryan Little has 16 points - Milan Lucic has 11 playing on the 3rd line Cons: - Everything else
  8. Has this been proven with reports, or is this opinion? Rhetorical.
  9. Bryan Little with 6 points in 3 games.
  10. Scouting reports on players looking good. Mason and Reimer already NHL ready, which is awesome. Bordson progressing nicely with a higher potential than I originally thought. While not NHL ready, recent later first round picks Loow and Melin have surprising ceilings. Not so good? Rated 29th in season preview. Will need the youth to really step it up.
  11. Toronto places a claim on Brent Sopel
  12. @Nail What is the cap hit for these players? EDIT: NVM. Can see it on the SS.
  13. Great question. After going through each team, not saying these teams would, but there are arguments for each (regardless how they played in the past): Buffalo: Kyle Okposo ($6M x 3) Detroit: Justin Abdelkader ($4.25M x 3) Montreal: Karl Alzner ($4.625M x 2) Ottawa: Bobby Ryan ($7.25M x 2) Carolina: Jake Gardiner ($4.05M x 3) New Jersey: Cory Schneider ($6M x 2) Islanders: Andrew Ladd ($5.5M x 3) Philadelphia: Shayne Gostisbehere ($4.5M x 3) Pittsburgh: Jack Johnson ($3.25M x 3) Chicago (after LITR): Brent Seabrook ($6.875M x 4) or Calvin de Haan ($4.55M x 2) Dallas (LIKELY NOT, but these two have not shown well latley): Jamie Benn ($9.5M x 4) or Joe Pavelski ($7M x 2) Minnesota: Mats Zuccarello ($6M x 4) or Victor Rask ($4M x 2) St Louis: This won't happen, but it was bad immediately; Justin Faulk ($6.5M x 6) Winnipeg (He may be done for good, but if not): Bryan Little ($5.9216M x 4) Anaheim: David Backes ($4.5M x 1) Calgary: Milan Lucic ($5.25M x 3) Edmonton: Kris Russell ($4M x 1); although take away PP points and just look at advanced stats, James Neal is THE WORST Los Angeles: Jonathan Quick ($5.85M x 3) San Jose: Martin Jones ($5.75M x 4) Vancouver: Loui Eriksson ($6M x 2) All have an argument, but the bolded teams/players all have a high chance of being bought out. The others still have some value and could be traded (ie: Ghost, Gardiner, Benn/Pavelski, or it's just not worth the team's time/money (ie: Quick, Ryan).
  14. Obviously can't get into Pietro's head, or his agent's, but it's pretty clear that he can and will get A LOT more in free agency from a few teams with the cap space who desperately need an elite d-man. St Louis has the benefit of: a. Having a number of high talent, younger defensemen; and b. Having won a Cup. So their urgency to re-up him isn't as high. Their window is open, they already went through it once already, and will still have chances to win going forward. There are several teams with the cap space, or who will make the cap space, in order to boost their defense. First thought is Edmonton, but they need to clear cap space. But I can absolutely see them make the moves necessary to free up the space to get him. The New Jersey Devils are going to have a sh*t ton of cap space next year. Enought to go after Pietrangelo and Lehner. And if each team is allowed one compliance buyout, then they'll have loads more (still) after using it on Schneider.
  15. Only so much cap space available. Especially with the cap staying put at $81.5M, only so much money to go around that Stanley Cup team. The siver lining to losing Pietrangelo, is that they will be inserting Hobey Baker winner Scott Perunovich into the lineup next season. By all accounts, the "next" Torey Krug.
  16. Exactly the post by peaches. Plus, for anyone that "somewhat knows" Byfuglien, it was never about the money for him; especially considering that he's made a ton of it. There are many stories of professional athletes that look at the sport that they're in as a "job", not a passion. In Buff's case, there is many documented times, most notably when he was drafted and his subsequent interview afterwards, that showed that hockey was never the center of the universe for him. Family is, and always has been, first and foremost to him. He's a family man who enjoys his health while he has it for his wife and kids. There is nothing wrong with stepping away from the game. He's put in his time, made a lot more money than he ever needs for himself and his family.
