  2. Leathers has his flaws, but his sheer determination, particularly after he makes a mistake, makes up for some. Because of his very high effort level he has shown that there are bigger concerns on the pitch than in his corner. I like the guy...
  3. VIC, I get all goosebumpy when you post Riverside. Unbelievable Polish band. I'm listening to the new Kamelot album. Here's one:
  4. Gah...I know this is two in a row, but I had to do this. Instrumental group (Liquid Tension Experiment) featuring John Petrucci on guitar, Mike Portnoy on drums, Jordan Rudess on keyboard and Tony Levin (of the Peter Gabriel band and King Crimson, among others) on one of the coolest instruments on the planet: the Chapman Stick. Was listening to the studio version but found this live one that is so very well done. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqaM4ynvylc

  6. Loving the recently found doses of Jethro Tull!
  7. Song from very cool rock opera created by Dutch project called Ayreon. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6Zh_GwdutE This album cover happens to be my avatar...
  8. When you list a ridiculously amazing song like this, you really MUST include an example... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kz0LG1uL5KU Parts of this epic are so beautiful and serene and others make you feel like you're viewing the inmates of an insane asylum. Nobody has vocals like this guy. Clean vocals that are so stunning and growls that disturb you deep within, all out of one mouth!
  9. As suggested by my post, I do agree. But I was still mildly amused. Most people think strictly of vocals when they think of melody in "songs". Obviously, you are beyond that (as am I, also obviously, though I'm not as deep into the crazy vocals as you are).
  10. Haha!! No offense, Vic, but I love the irony of your "melody" quote followed by the DT, which has no vocal melody at all, though it does have a little melody in the guitars. Edit: was the irony intentional? The may suggest so...
  11. Here's a band for you: two male vocalist/guitar players female vocalist drummer keyboard player 9-string bass player (ridiculous, but oh, so cool!) violinist this track also has a saxophone and choir Welcome to experimental/avant-garde metal!
