  1. “They were hitting, holding, cutting, grabbing, clutching, hitting,” Nurse fumed. “It’s been going on all year. I do not understand why they are letting everyone play one of the best players in the league so physically. I do not understand it.”

Oh Darnell how dare people actually hit McDavid lol

What exactly is the difference between holding, grabbing and clutching? Seems to me that they just want it to sound like many things are happening to McDavid but they can really only come up with he is being hit and is being held. Boo hoo, that never happens to anyone else.

Edit: Wrong quote apparently, but the rest still stands

Of course Hitchcock isn't going to comment on the penalties because the majority were unforced errors and they had to be called (pucks over the glass, although one was a terrible call, and don't forget the too many men call that wasn't even close as all 6 players were well in the play).

Teams have found a way to shut down McDavid somewhat (and he's still producing), so it's up to the rest of your team to step up when all the focus is on McDavid. And it's up to McDavid to demonstrate why he's the best player in the game by producing even with the tight defensive systems against him (which I believe he still is). That's how you showcase you're one of the best rather than just giving him open lanes for him to skate into.

Are they going to complain after every loss (even though their record has been decent with Hitchcock) that the opponents defended them too well and it isn't fair?

Its tragic when you're a one player team, people will defend that one player extra hard. Crying little babies. It's not like he got hurt.
