  1. SO I have lived in Albertabama since 2012 - BC born and bred lad who misses the "old country" - just can't bring myself to cheer for a team who has had so much lottery luck yet still struggles to make it in the playoffs. What I wouldn't give as a Nucks fan for just one first overall pick and these clowns have pissed away how many before they got McDavid. Thing for me is I won't cheer for division rivals - maybe one day that will change but for now I revel in each Oiler loss as I make my way yo work lol.
  2. I am not sold on the Oilers coming out of the West - yes they added Ekholm but if Ceci or Kulak go down who fills in those minutes? Also if Vegas gets Stone back and they get healthy on their back end look out .
  3. I'm in - looking forward to seeing everyones picks

  5. Interesting to see what happens: Bruins Playing With Salary Cap Fire as Taylor Hall Nears Return (msn.com) Bruins Playing With Salary Cap Fire as Taylor Hall Nears Return Story by NHL Trade Talk • Yesterday 6:27 p.m. According to TSN’s Darren Dreger, the Boston Bruins could be on the verge of salary cap issues as forward Taylor Hall is nearing an on-ice return. Dreger notes in the most recent edition of TSN Insider Trading: “Sources say that he feels that he is ready. The problem is the Bruins don’t have the cap space to activate Taylor Hall.” Bruins Playing With Salary Cap Fire as Taylor Hall Nears Return© Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports On March 2, 2023, the Bruins placed Hall on LTIR and created $6 million in LTIR cap space, which they then went and spent on Dmitry Orlov and Tyler Bertuzzi — the latter of which was meant to be Hall’s replacement in the lineup. Dreger stated that Hall has informed the team he’s ready to go, but there are three weeks still left in the regular season. The question in Boston is how they’ll make room or if they’ll stretch things out much like Tampa Bay did with Nikita Kucherov. At the time, the Kucherov decision was met with scrutiny because he was skating with the team and magically was ready to play the first game of the postseason. If the Bruins try something similar, Dreger suggests there will be teams up in arms. He also notes that the NHL is watching this situation closely. Related video: Bruins-Canadiens Rivalry is Still Great & How Important is this Weekend? | Poke the Bear w/ Conor Ryan (Dailymotion) There’s not only a potential issue with Hall, but Bruins forward Nick Foligno returned to practice in a no-contact sweater on Tuesday and “is making progress” toward a return to game availability for the Bruins. If he too is ready to go it could be really hard to justify both men being unhealthy enough to skate for the regular season but somehow ready exactly on the opening night of the postseason. If Derek Forbort comes out and doesn’t return for the regular season, that might help a bit. That said, the Bruins are in an interesting predicament, especially if Hall wants to play and is cleared to do so.
  6. So many great choices and while I agree Dionne deserves consideration don't forget when he played there there were only 21 teams whereas the Sedins and Lundquist, Iggy etc played there were 30 teams and a lot more parity in the league. Just my two cents - but definitely of his era Dionne is number 1 on my list.
  7. LMAO that was going to be my question - is he related to Vidal?

Downtown Edmonton erupted into violence as nearly 30,000 people celebrated the Oilers' third Stanley Cup win in the early morning hours of June 1, 1987. What started as a peaceful celebration turned into a clash between partiers and police when officers decided the party had gone on long enough. Some officers were seen attacking some of the troublemakers with fists and clubs, escalating the tension. At one point, an officer pushed the CBC camera away from the action while yelling at people to get off the street. Edmonton police officers arrest dozens during the 1987 Stanley Cup celebrations. (CBC) Beer bottles were thrown at police by people who were not ready to leave the streets yet, injuring three officers. Police called in the fire department, which used fire hoses to control the crowd and tried chasing them off the streets. After that, the riot squad, with police dogs, was brought in, putting an end to disruption. The fire department uses a fire hose to control the crowd. (CBC) Dozens were arrested during the altercation, leaving broken glass and litter lining the streets downtown. In the video, CBC's Rick Boguski explained the situation and presented excellent footage from the riot, which started out as a simple victory party.

  12. Ok in al seriousness I am not a conspiracy theorist but this theory might make the most sense to explain WTF is going on in the world Simulation Theory: What Is Simulation Theory And Are We Living In A Computer Simulation? (stealthoptional.com) Simulation Theory: What Is Simulation Theory And Are We Living In A Computer Simulation? What if we are living in a computer simulation? What if all this world’s problems are actually the results of some sort of game theory gone horribly, horribly wrong? By Melwyn Joseph TABLE OF CONTENTS Have you ever thought about whether we are living in a computer simulation? What do you think about the idea that the entire universe, including us, is a computer simulation? That idea has been floating around in the minds of people for years. A lot of scientists and philosophers have suggested that the whole universe, including ourselves, could be a simulation. This is known as the "simulation theory". But, what exactly is this theory and is it even true? Let’s find out. What is Simulation Theory? According to the simulation theory, the entire universe, including everything that we know, is a computer simulation. This also includes planets, stars, humans, animals, plants, and any kind of living thing. In other words, we are not real; we are just part of a computer program. Advertisement Think of it as a high-resolution video game that has been created by a very advanced civilization, in which we are all characters. The most famous version of this hypothesis comes from the movie The Matrix by the Wachowski sisters. The movie depicts a dystopian future in which humanity is unknowingly trapped inside a simulated reality, which intelligent machines have created. It shows that we are inside a computer simulation called the Matrix, and that we are unaware of this fact. In other words, we are inside a simulation, and we believe ourselves to be "real" when we are not. Read More: Super Intelligent AI will be impossible to control, claim scientists Are We Living in a Computer Simulation? In his published paper, Are You Living in a Computer Simulation?, Nick Bostrom explains that future generations might have mega-computers that can run numerous and detailed simulations of their forebears (ancestor simulations), in which artificial consciousness is infused into the simulated beings. If this is the case, are we living in one of those ancestor simulations created by our advanced descendants? Advertisement Rizwan Virk, the author of The Simulation Hypothesis, answers this question in the affirmative and explains why we should accept the possibility that we are living in a simulation. He said to Vox.com: There are lots of mysteries in physics that are better explained by the simulation hypothesis than by what would be a material hypothesis. The truth is that there’s much we simply don’t understand about our reality, and I think it’s more likely than not that we are in some kind of a simulated universe. Definitely, it’s far more likely than not. In fact, astronomer David Kipping says that the chances of us living in a simulation are about 50 per cent. However, we can never know whether we are in a simulation. Because we cannot distinguish between a simulation and the real world. So, it’s possible that we are in a simulation, and it’s also possible that we’re not (50-50). Simulation Theory is No Joke The idea that we're living in a simulation is not as crazy as it seems at first glance. The rate at which technology is expanding is increasing exponentially. With the advent of the Metaverse, the possibility of creating artificial realities is real and growing. Soon the virtual reality we create will be indistinguishable from reality. Inevitably, we will reach the point where we will have the means to create a simulation of the entire universe. So, why not use those means to recreate our reality through ancestor simulations?
