  1. Kesler makes the prettiest save of the tournament!! Damn!
  2. I fear the worst. USA has IMO been the best team in the tournament. Hope we can find a way to somehow beat Quick a couple of times, and keep Kessel & friends off the scoresheet. PS Watch Leo Komarov. Will play on the second unit today. He played for Toronto last year, but returned to the KHL for one last year. And he will be looking at a return to the NHL during the summer. He's a poor mans Burrows. Great agitator that plays hard and hits clean.
  3. When is Crosby going to step up and make a difference? This would be the time for him to do so. As things stand and how the teams have played, it's not even Canada's game to lose, it's the US game and Canada comes in as the underdog. That's not very common.
  4. Gudlevskis just got the attention of a big part of the hockey world. This will be a pretty good calling card for him going forward.
  5. That's not the way Finland plays. Canadian team dominating the first 20 forced the opponent to play D and slowly start getting more offensive towards the end of the second. The third period was good, quality hockey IMO.
  6. They usually are. Russian hockey on the international stage has been one dimensional for the last two plus decades that I've been watching hockey. Always relying on one or two snipers and if it doesn't work it's all single playing solo mode the rest of the game. Way too unstable, even with all that finesse and talent.
  7. Gotta say that Granlund is totally lost out there. He was brilliant in our first two games. But he's been a disappointment so far tonite...
  8. He's keeping us in it! Hope we can reward him with a big W. Goooooo Finland!
  9. Momentum has almost shifted from Canada to Finland. It'll be a thrill right to the end!
  10. It's been a bit yawn during the first 30 minutes by us Finns. But we got a hang of it during the last 10 in the second. The goal was like a cherry on top of it. It'll be a great third period. To me it didn't look bad, it looked more like overly careful or something. We gotta have the same intensity as we had in the previous games against weaker opponents. Games like this are the real deal. I'm so pumped. x2
  11. I just realized this thread was launched 6 years too early... Only recently has this become a valid question. Oops, I'm thinking out loud. Bye.
  12. Tough loss once again. Very tough. Though it didn't feel as bad as I thought it would. It felt like; whatever, I'm used to this. I remember feeling like that in the late 90's when everything was just loss after loss. Even with all the firepower we had and all the big names up front. I would actually never have guessed we'd be this deep in it with a new coach. Even if I and many others knew it would take time to adjust for both players and coaches. On one hand I'm still kinda in shock that we're playing worse than we ever did under AV, but on the other hand, even without the injuries, our squad has guys that just don't fit together like they should. On paper they do, but have close to zero click or connection on the ice. The only ones that have that is the twins and Burrows (obviously haven't had that now). Where does Kesler fit? Who has he got? No one. Booth has no-one, Hansen alone, Higgins alone (even if he still gets the job done), Kassian? We need to get combos that work. And it don't seem to be happening with these guys...
  13. LOL @ Raymond diving penalty. For once he didn't even dive
  14. This is one of the best ones 'ever'. Maybe not ever, but pretty high up there. The comeback, the roll from the Sedins & Burrows, the arrows by Burr, Razor as happy as I've seen him. This was an awesome game all around. Sticktoitivness at it's finest. This is what we need from Burr and Daniel. Smiles and all. Even if Henrik isn't there, this is what we need to see. Definite momentum changer for the whole team just before the break. I'm so pumped after watching this one again. C'mon Canucks! You can do it!!
  15. Hamhuis is indeed out of action tonight. Scary sh1te... Nothing against the young guys, but Garrison, Edler, Stanton, Sauve, Corrado, Tanev... oh boy... it's getting thin. Thank god for the olympic rehab break coming up. Not a day too soon...
  16. This better be a win. I'll be a zombie again at work tomorrow with the starting time of this game here...
  17. Most teams who need a spark for the post-season. Just about everyone knows he will break out of that slump and start producing again. Now would actually be the most beneficial time for a GM to try and 'steal' him while his value is presumably as low as it can get.
  18. That is one reason. One is that the whole team is struggling, and the coaching change added to that. But that was a good point.
