  1. Hiller sure loves that matte black & gold cage -look
  2. CDC stands for Zero Tolerance Should he have any time at all to adjust to a new team? Should the team be given any time to do so? Should there not be a chance (even if slowly) to improve a team (via trade) that has been in trouble for a few years now? Should everything be solved over night?
  3. Very happy for Diaz. Nice looking shot by him. Hoping there is more to come.
  4. Kinda nice GDT by the OP. Sedinery and Lui maybe a tad bit much, no? On a sidenote, the game starts at 2 A.M here for me, so it requires for me to be very strong mentally and go to sleep now and 8 P.M. And it better be a good game from my Canuck team! Cuz of that I'll be pretty much dead at work tomorrow and I better be happy at least! Looks like the Nucks have to climb a mountain just to get to the same level as the Bruins. We need to turn this ship around and head into the lengthy break with a positive spirit in the room. It'll be a long olympic break if our top guys can't work their way out of that horrible slump of theirs. I'll leave it at that.
  5. Not bad. Time will tell what this trade brings, but as for now, we didn't give up much. And Weise being moved this year seemed inevitable IMO.
  6. Makes 0 sense to move Higgins. He's been good, versatile and productive. And at a very reasonable price too.
  7. Danny & Hank having a mediocre year doesn't automatically mean they are on a decline. People have had bad years and bounce back years before. With the new system, somewhat enigmatic team and overall effort, it's no surprise that many of our guys are struggling. Not to mention key injuries with Burrows, Henrik, Edler, Schroeder and even Booth (just as he was supposed to get a clean slate and fresh start). Luckily we got good goaltending from Lack when Lui was gone.
  8. No matter how much of a process this is, we need help at offense; power play. No panic -button, but GMMG needs to make something happen, or this will end up sadly at the 82 game mark. We need a real top six forward that can score. Getting Burr back into form and eventually getting Henrik back will help, but even with that we need a E.Kane type of real offensive threat.
  9. Come again?! Laurie Korpacospi!? Please, have some decency to at least get either the first name or the surname correct... That was by far the weakest attempt to write a name since I joined this message board. Other than that. Burrows needs to score and so does Daniel. He needs to do what Henrik did when he was out. Step up and do what needs to be done. GCG!
  10. No. 1 PP looked good. But the second unit was shaky. Edler again as well.
  11. There is no doubt we need help with offense; and especially power play. So I'd welcome ROR any time.
  12. Even if that was funny, that's pretty far away at this point With how suspensions are handed out at this time, the outcome doesn't surprise me. Depending on how you look at it, it seem both fair and unfair. In real life it wouldn't be even a fine if you did that during your day at the office. Emotions boil over during different altercations and once cooler heads prevail, things get settled. But what's done is done. We need to work through this and leave this episode behind us.
  13. Mud was a good film. I just saw it a few weeks back. Being a movie fanatic and enjoying everything and trying to find positives in stuff as much as possible, I have to agree with your post. But at the end my numbers would sit somewhere in the range of 7.75/10. That is pretty respectable figure in my books. _________________________________ My personal review will feature Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome http://www.imdb.com/...ref_=fn_al_tt_1 Back some 20 years I would probably have rated it 8/10 or even higher. But reality check here. Not even close. It's unfair to rate movies and compare them to movies of today. 80's action movies wouldn't stand a chance anymore. And IMO all the best movies action have been made during the 80's and 90's. I remember thinking this was an all-time top-10 movie when I was a kid. Oh boy! But 6.5/10 is my final word on this one. For one, the movie would be even worse if it wouldn't have been a sequel. The one alone without the flesh around the bones would leave the viewer very confused. And if the viewer hasn't seen the previous one, it would be pretty painful and boring to watch. A few returning stars from the previous Mad Max (Mel Gibson and Bruce Spence) and Tina Turner signed on to play the evil villain. Nice trip down memory lane for those who don't exactly remember the story, but boring to those who haven't seen it before. Pass. - Spooshy
  14. Edler seems like the most logical piece in that trade, even if I think COL needs to add something solid to go with that to make it work. Out of the two, Edler is clearly has the better value, 'steady' success and contract. We'd be the ones taking the big chance.
  15. He'll get a couple of games and a big fine. Gulutzan and Sullivan will get the job done meanwhile. No place for that hallway scrum in the NHL, but it's been known to happen sometimes. And with everything that happened before that, it don't surprise me it did happen.
  16. They're going to get behind their coach like he does for them when there is an altercation of some sorts. Still, well done overall. The matching the lines was golden, and standing up for one another was even better. The actions i the hallway looked bad and will probably cause some disciplinary actions towards Tortorella. But what's done is done. Now that you've established yourselves as tough opponents of late, get the scoring going again. OT: Hope Sedin is alright
  17. I highly doubt Luongo gets traded anywhere. That would put us back years in terms of goaltending. No matter how well Lack has played so far, he will be nowhere near, or ready for 60-70 regular season games starting next fall. It would prove to be the stupidest move ever to first trade Schneider, then ask Lui to carry the burden again, then move him and start off with a very, very, very unproven goalie. And still expect us to compete for the Cup. That would not even be a bad strategy, it would be no strategy at all...
  18. Still Schneids in my mind. He did more than was backup - he took the spot from Lui. Lack just might do the same at some point (that's the plan though, so he should). But in my mind Lui's been the man for all those years. We've just been blessed with two great goalies for a long time now
  19. I'm pretty excited again, and optimistic that we can grind away a couple of points. Most likely in OT or SO, tho.
  20. Nicely put. Pretty much sums it up right there. But that 4.5M is a bit too much for him, even Snow, MacT and & Holmgren acknowledge that.
  21. I've been avoiding these kinda topics (amongst others) for as long as possible. The simple reason is that all & everything is being overhyped or brutally offended here, depending on an outcome of one single game. These questions are a quality example of that. It's been way too early. And might still be. Now I felt the time was right for me to join in as well. The reason I write is not to bash the OP, but because now I'm actually starting to feel it makes a whole lot of sense to do so. We're in no hurry to make that call yet. But it seems obvious we should hang on to him. Dollars is the biggest tripping stone in my mind on this one, as his play has been exceptional and there is no denying that. He's been playing great. But one good or great ear should not have us 'overpaying' him. So I sincerely hope we find a middle ground on that one, a la Higgins & Burrows before the latest deal. Hopefully we can find a fit for him and 1-2 of our top prospects on the roster next fall. Then I'll be happy. Out.
