  1. Too bad it didin’t work out with Dickinson. I would have liked for him to succeed here but I’m afraid we would be having the same situation and discussion again next fall. It didn’t look like it was going to work out anyway. Riley Stillman is a good depth pickup and we seem to need more d-men at this rate. Not too unhappy about the second, it is what it is. The biggest positive for me is that someone else played himself into the lineup and it might not have been possible if we didn’t make this move. Maybe Nils Åman? Exciting times.
  2. Damn. I was hoping he’d get a decent shot on a one year deal. He got a decent shot for six games and didn’t get the job done. Will be a tough road for him to claw his way back into the NHL after this.
  3. I mean I get it as all the cuts are coming after this one and they want to see as many kids and depth guys the can one more time. Winning or losing in the preseason is not the issue for me so no harm done in that sense. But we do have probably the biggest mismatch coming up I can remember since I began following the Canucks in the early 90’s. Might end well, might be quite the blowout. With blowout being the assumption here.
  4. Not alot happening here yet so I’ll go first and say this is finally the game where everyone is gonna show up and we’ll get that ’important’ first win of the preseason. Go Canucks Go
  5. Read Pens are down to a 28 man camp roster and we seem to be at 48 still. Season just a few days away. Shouldn’t it be pretty close and set by now?
  6. When you want to find the right stuff/people you need to be able to make errors too. If you do nothing nothing can go wrong. If she wasnt a good fit then you need to move on and find the right person for a specific role. I see nothing that makes this regime look bad because of this.
  7. Good job getting this done. The numbers are actually better than I would have expected so I’m happy tho a part of me wanted to see the big return a deal would have landed us. Good job GMPA
  8. Can they even exceed the cap by that much yet? Or do they play training camp with what they have and trade once rosters are set? Confusing situation in Vegas.
  9. Wowz. I had to check in and see if CDC is melting down after seeing them numbers. Crazy contract. Just wow. I dont know if it’s wow good or wow bad but it’s something.
  10. He’s still not there yet but I hope he becomes a full-time NHL player soon. Easy thing under Torts, just ask Lain. Editors note; Kellan Lain
  11. 1003 pages on the matter. I have to say that I have not read everything. I just hope I didnt miss out on anything valuable.
  12. I don’t remember the exact words used by JR but he said we are very poor at exiting our own zone and need to get better at that. Klingberg to my understanding would be a serious upgrade on that front. I’m not sure Klingberg is the answer to that. But that is what our management group is thinking about and would support the theory of us trying to sign him as soon as our cap situation is resolved to some degree.
  13. I think they can get some value but it all seems strange. Why sign a RFA to 3M just to trade him? They could have traded him as is and let the next team negotiate a potentially longer deal if they want to?
  14. I’m sure they want to know what happened, if accusations are accurate and the people involved. A lot of players are coming up as coaches, scouts etc and are a part of NHL organisations still. So there probably is a lot for them to know and understand.
  15. The $$$ numbers for Laine are pretty much as expected. I kinda like him for his scoring but I’m not sure he is the best player on any team so that is pricey and risky. Might pay off tho if he and Johnny start piling up some goals right away.
  16. I like the trade for both sides. Panthers did dive up a lot tho. What the on-ice product looks like will remain to be seen. On paper this is huge but what kinda difference will that make for Florida? They need to win some playoff rounds and if they dont this definitely didnt help them as much as it looks now.
  17. Wow! I would never have thought Florida would move Huberdeau but we dont know what is happening behind the scenes. He was definitely a big part of the core there.
  18. That’s a guy I would have liked to have on our team and give him a look.
  19. True in the 90’s but today…? I dubno about that. And I fo feel like teans have identity without ”rats”. Cooke was a good depth guy for years before that inner rat came out to play. I sometimes wonder what kinda talk there would have been on the net if it were possible, back when we had Odjick and Brashear. They were tough, not ”rats” but in general. What would have been said way back when. They were just tough guys end of story. Now, as all things are disected and analyzed to the max with everything under the scope.
  20. Everyone’s got their shortcomings I guess but what you described still wasn’t accurate. You exaggerate things too much in this case.
  21. You sound like you have no clue about who you are talking about and even if you do - that was such an incompetent evaluation on Brock Boeser.
