I was a Habs fan in the late 60s , was only a kid. But that was the only team that was capable of kicking Boston’s ass  as well as Toronto’s. Vancouver never really gave anyone much to cheer for until 82. Ain’t gunna lie I followed the oilers simply because they could do the same as that 70s Habs team. It was amazing watching their rise from inception. But st louis’s rise was the first expansion team to go all the way the first year. Probly the toughest team ever. Not dirty tough either. Just tough with all 3 plager brothers. Bob, bill and Barkley. Much bigger than the gassoff brothers. It was said they were from Canada’s toughest family. They were pretty impressive. I know Smithers joe doesn’t like the plagers because one of them ended joe watsons career.

@JM Ive only ever been to 2 Canuck games bos and an edm game  11 years old in 1970 with my knitted canucks jersey from my grandmother which I quickly out grew  also I  live  500 miles north of van  this season I’ve only watched preseason games. Relagated to am 650 while simultaneously posting on the GTD  on my phone. Kinda liking it.

Pnwhl circa 1978 in this  pic there’s 3 jr b eligible players but since there wasn’t enough talent to form a complete team chhl made allowance for this there’s 4 aged out whl guys ,and 1 St. Louis draft protected guy this version at the time was considered 3 , 4 best in western Canada behind  quesnel kangaroos  ft St. John flyers  the year before this team played in the Allan cup finals only because the kangaroos led by 3 gasoff brothers didn’t have a league to represent theirs folded  subsequently our kings were bounced early  that would have been good to be a part of but wasn’t there

some people are quick to get into PGT after player X plays well / scores / etc and they are

"oh where are all the player X haters now?? Don't have the guts to come in here....but they'll be back when player X doesn't score"


why do those same people rarely show up in a PGT where player X played poorly?

my son is 53. i was 30 whe n he was born. you can imagine how old i feel. 

Mine just turned 16 a few weeks ago. Yes makes me feel old.

I apologize that the resurgence was not as resurgent as I would have hoped.

I think the players are more anti Benning at this point

@allegendI agree, once those guys are back we are a different team. Coaching change could make another massive impact. But those players are key to a good run at the end of the year.

@BureBurritoI think any team that spends to the cap should have expectations to be a playoff team year after year. That is not reality I know but its my expectation for sure, anything less is disappointing. The young guys are such a bright spot, but it is still disappointing when we don't make the playoffs.

A team doesn't just come together and perform at playoff-level intensity when nearly a third of the players dressed for each game are new. It's kind of like cooking; a recipe might call for ten different ingredients, but nobody would throw them all together and expect it to be edible within a few minutes. It needs time to cook and for the ingredients to intermingle and form a perfectly cooked meal. So, again I preach patience, people. Patience.
