Ehrhoff and his 7pts and -8 rating this season... Oh yeah... Me like... Good call...
-
Pretty damn easy to rag on a guy with zero goals. Burrows already had his discount contract. Now that it's done and he's got his raise, of course there will be more complaints when he doesn't light it up. ($4mil seems to be the threshold as of late. Any player making that or more here will be ripped if he's not consistently good.) But did anyone think that his discount rate would last forever? No. Did it make sense for us to just cut him loose as a ufa? Also no. So it is what it is. Deal with it. ps. If a couple of you think the Burrows contract is a problem now, wait until the Sedins start really declining. Y'know, watching this team sag won't be as sad as knowing it was coming a mile away.

Comets score barely 2 goals a game. Clearly stewing away on that team will not bring about any offensive confidence. That being said, he's still only 20. I'm not expecting much if/when he gets the call.

Jaw surgery isn't epic. Crosby came back just fine. However, this season has been a curse for Alex. Good luck when you come back, Frack! (From Frick 'n Frack.)

Take a look at the big UFA market first.

When's the last time he pre-announced a trade?

So my friend and I had another religious discussion
TOMapleLaughs replied to yawn.3x's topic in Off-Topic General
No. Agnostic, definitely on the side of secularism. Because i don't believe in wasting time and energy on believing or non-believing. But laughing at the 'vague spiritualism' from a group who arrogantly denies something it cannot possibly disprove. Can't have it both ways, and that's why the door to a godless religion called atheism is wide open. It's always been wide open, and some will try to get official status for it, imho. -

Not a parallel as, y'know, you're talking about an actual game. Whereas setting up a church to mock religion only to have it turn into a religion itself is, y'know, hypocrisy. But i don't expect antitheists who are hellbent on propping up their own strange actions to see that. Btw, this has been going on for years, it was originally labelled ironic and a joke by others then only to be proved wrong then. The 'First Church of Atheism', that is, where you can become an ordained atheist minister. Absurd? Yes. But actual. It's a church for those who want church services, but don't want it to be about God. As for the recent 'Atheist mega-churches', even if it's meant to be ironic, guess what kind of people who are attending? That's right... Atheists who are interested in getting organized. A place for like-minded people to share their ideas, sing songs and presumably non-praise the Lord. They even collect money for donations. The idea is catching on. In the States? Hell yes it's catching on. Two years ago the absurd idea didn't even exist. Now it's Won't be long until it's the next Scientology, whether or not other so-called 'real' atheists find it to be absurd. Afterall, it's still alright to be spiritual, right? That's another part of the irony with this. Spiritual atheism: It's okay to believe in something out there, or in there, or wherever, just as long as we don't call it God. Pffft. -

When you, atheists, antitheists, whatever, make an actual church, btw, you aren't 'beating them at their own game'. You're joining them. The irony is that they're using the model already well-established by organized religion in order to... Defeat organized religion, by replacing it with their own. Lol. -

Wrong. It's called trying to get the status that they see and a jealous about official religions getting. -

Originally, yes. But if you'd read, you'd realize that now, no, they're not. -

Atheism isn't abrasive. Antitheism is. These threads constantly go on and on about atheism vs. theism, when by definition, the conflict are examples of antitheism vs. theism. However, atheists will call themselves atheists regardless. Afterall, what atheist wants to be called an antitheist? It implies that they are negative, secondary afterthoughts to theists. And God knows that cannot stand. I find antitheists to be of the jealous type. Constantly griping about the benefits given to theists. Constantly whining about all the atrocities done by religion, blah, blah, blah. As if antitheists, the unbelievers, etc. haven't been equally guilty. Even if all religion did not exist, it's an absolute certainty that war still would. We just wouldn't be able to blame them on religion, which imho is a copout. But what bothers me more, from both sides, is that some choose to argue about the existence or non-existence of God. 'Oh, but science says...' What? Science hasn't even come CLOSE to proving or disproving anything on the subject. They don't even know how their own brains work, let lone why. So how can science at this point be used as and end-all on the argument. Meanwhile, all the written testimonials or the mythology, made up or not, in the work from thousands of years ago don't mean jack squat when trying to come up with a modern argument. There is literally nothing to proceed with for an argument, presently. And yet, tons of people here get off on it. Over and over again. God! Hey whatever. To each their own i guess. I'm not gonna judge. Lord knows i've wasted my time here often. But the argument is unwinnable and the 'discussion' is redundant to the point of insanity. Now how about that 'atheism is a religion' angle? Lol. From 3 days ago: http://news.yahoo.com/atheist-mega-churches-root-across-us-world-214619648.html Yes, this was originally started as a wank-prank in the UK, but the idea is catching on. An official Church of Atheism. Tell me that these 'spiritual, but not religious, like-minded folks' don't eventually want to get official religious status. Whether or not some atheists want it and think it's ridiculous, we've seen religions get official status based on far more ridiculous ideologies. There will be atheists or antitheists that want their own church, their own religion, just to get the status. I've been following this for a couple years now and interest in it has been growing exponentially. I think it's going to happen. They're going to get status. Whatever they call it, it will be a Church of Atheism. And that, to me, will be the biggest bit of laughable hypocrisy that the world will ever see. -
The coach battle reasoning looks like a smokescreen, as any GM would fire Noel instantly if it meant keeping Kane. imho Kane has kinda wanted out since the team moved to Winnipeg. His deal is reasonable and he could be a very important piece on a contending squad. I would trade for him in a heartbeat. He has no say in where he goes though and we'd be outbid by a lot of teams.

New Arcade Fire? Like all of their releases, there's a lot you have to trudge through before hitting the goods. This album has 2-3 decent songs, but will of course get massively overrated. New Soundgarden? No thanks. They're done. The latest Alice In Chains efforts are remarkably better. New Pearl Jam? A few decent tracks. About what you'd expect. New Nine Inch Nails? (Didn't he quit?) Is alright. Reminds me more of his weird futuristic/aliens album than anything else. But somebody put in a generic pop guitar song in there. imho Sounded stranger than anything else he's ever done. A few decent tracks. New Soulfly? Lol, dat low-pitched cookie monster growling. 2-3 songs deep, if you dig it. New Placebo? It's alright. The low-to-high pitched syllable progression per line gets a bit tired in spots though. A few decent tracks. New Korn? Their old guitarist Head is back. So a slight return to their old style riffs, but still putting in dubstep. Surprisingly decent effort, as i expected nothing much, but it's not top-notch by any stretch. A few decent tracks.
