  1. Ah, so when you said this, you didn't mean the current regime has a horrible drafting record so far, in your opinion? Excellent. Thanks for clearing that up. Now I know never to put weight into your opinions ever again. I guess that includes whatever meaningless grades you put on anything as well. Afterall, you didn't mean it, right. Lol. In my opinion, this regime has been just fine at drafting and player development. It just hasn't lived up to the hype for various reasons. Oh, and I mean it.
  2. Horrible: 100% bust entire draft years. Of which Nonis has one or two and the Canucks have far too many. While overhyped, the current regime hasn't had horrible drafting. Btw. Being able to sign Lack and Tanev is a positive, not a negative aspect of this organization. Not that you meant it as negative, but this post was, so...
  3. Gaunce reminds me of Mike Fisher.
  4. And Amplifier is releasing a new album called Echo Street in January. Should be sweet.
  5. Looking forward to album releases from: The Joy Formidable AC/DC Alice in Chains The Black Keys Black Sabbath (Really, Ozzy?) Dido Pearl Jam Yeah Yeah Yeahs and of course Gaga and Minaj, but that goes without saying.
  6. Holy crow, i never noticed, but they are short, aren't they... I guess we'll see if indeed this plays a factor. Maybe he develops roadrunner wheels. Here's Gaunce:
  7. Yes, this is exactly what i mean by going nowhere.
  8. Sure he's been playing 'fine.' But as what? Certainly not as this first round potential guy that we were told. At the moment i wouldn't mind if he turned out to be like Hansen. But so far he's not even close to even Hansen's intensity level. Hansen, meanwhile, was drafted in the 9th round? When we were complaining about passing on Tartar, we were correct. But whatever. This discussion usually goes nowhere because we like to put on the blinders regarding our guys until they're no longer our guys.
  9. Remember when Rodin was 1st round-worthy if it weren't for Schroeder's availability? Pro-Canucks Hoopla: Some things never change.
  10. Unfortunately, the Canucks are likely going to go through with exactly what i said. Marc Chouinard notwithstanding.
  11. ^^ Schroeder can be on our third line only if Kesler would want to do almost all the d-zone heavy lifting. Lapierre isn't great at draws. Manny is still a question mark and Hank never seems to have to take a d-zone draw. Schroeder, in the way that the Canucks like to utilize their 3rd line center currently, would be roasted alive. If he is to be used properly, that means he'll have to take almost exclusively offensive zone shifts. But good luck seeing that with the Sedins around. And good luck having that happen when the team didn't even want to do that with CoHo. Then again, maybe in order to vindicate the CoHo trade, we might see Schroeder inserted into cushy situations just because. Might or might not work, depending on how Brandon Reidish he turns out to be for the big squad.
  12. ^ Small forwards are much better-looking when they have the lead.
  13. Mbump. That blind pass from behind the net looked Sedinish.
  14. Wtf necro an old earthquake thread for a new one?
  15. This is unfortunate. Get well soon, Brendan.
  16. Well, Gaunce is not the next Crosby, no. But he's doin' a'ight.
  17. A continuing comparison to Cody is fair. Esp. when both are young centers from Markham, Ontario. At the moment i guess i baited you into 'defending Cody's honour' in the Gaunce thread and for that i am sorry. The overall fighting or no fighting debate will go on, and while the Sedins are of course honourable with 'heart', the Marchand incident in particular was very shameful, imo. Heck, even Lidstrom, Sundin or Forsberg would've dropped 'em there. Or at least tackled him. Meh. Old news.
  18. Oh i wasn't going to bash Cody until you led me to do so. He's not a fighter.
