  1. Ah, so. Does this apply to Honka as well? He's currently in his 2nd AHL season. Same with the great Willie Nylander.
  2. It appears that euros get a quick ticket to the pros. Perhaps this is the NHL's way of scooping up more international talent earlier?
  3. I'm always annoyed by virtually everything, actually.
  4. When the meme's come out, it means my point is valid. I'm annoyed, as usual, by unfairness.
  5. This is debatable. Kelowna had a stacked team last season, they did well, and their attendance wasn't all that high. London though has been consistent, attendance-wise for years. So perhaps more factors are at play. Another strange case is Sherbak. 19 and in the AHL now. Last year in the CHL. So the CHL rules don't apply if he's a euro? What in the blue hell is that? If he spent some time in the CHL, then he shouldn't be allowed in the AHL until age 20. Barbashev's another one. Why are euros allowed to jump the gun? Reeks.
  6. 1. Yes there is. The AHL is no super stacked league. It's filled with hundreds of ECHL-level players. 2. Addressed above.
  7. Certainly i'm not talking about all drafted players. Just the ones who are obviously too good for the CHL. PS. the CHL is currently losing these players in question to the NHL regardless.
  8. The AHL. This complaint would apply to the neverending argument in this thread, where Virtanen is obviously too good for the CHL, but may benefit from AHL seasoning. Why should euros and americans be given a pass in this regard, but top CHL prospects are forced to waste away in a teen league? Reeks.
  9. Who gives a crap? Player development matters more, doesn't it?
  10. So this rule applies only the the CHL? What kind of $&!# is that anyway?
  11. Question: Why can't Virtanen be assigned to the AHL while Sonny Milano can? I don't see some strange euro exemption rule coming into effect in that case. He's American.
  12. Maybe people just need to post less in prospects threads. So. Many. Posts. All dedicated to pre-conceived notions and biases. All stated over and over... and over... I mean, there are other thoughts to be had, aren't there? edit: I get to talk like this now because my 30,000+ posts went down to 15.8k. lol
  13. Even if he and the Canucks were mutually interested, where would we put him? In Bartchi's spot? Or Shinkaruk's?
  14. I'm prepared for this thread's death.
  15. Never mind that he'll learn nothing there, but also literally nobody in the WHL wants Virtanen to go back to junior. lol
  16. Virtanen could kill penalties quite easily. He could be on the power play and score easily. And his hitting shouldn't be irrelevant, since now that Prust is out, there's not much physicality to be had on the team's group of forwards. We should be patient with his development just like we were patient with Horvat's. If he's sent down to junior, then he learns nothing new. Esp. in Calgary. If Cracknell comes in, it's to replace McCann as 4th line center. Gaunce is developing as a depth winger it would seem. He's still too slow. He might be more adept to the NHL game than Bartschi though. At least he won't fall down as much.
  17. No it just makes your argument irrelevant. I've already addressed the 'need of hurricanes'. Solved. Only thing left is fear of environmental change and damage, which we've already done. So... Yeah.
  18. Yeah, well we've already been doing this forever, and we've already negatively affected our environment by quite a bit, so what's the difference? There is none. Again, like it or not, geoengineering is coming. So it's probably best that the world's scientific leaders do it rather than some half-cooked third world countries do it for us.
  19. Hurricanes are needed: To cool the earth down by cycling the air, to break droughts, and to form coral reefs. Weather control will eliminate the need to cool the earth down, and would solve droughts, leaving the coral reef issue, which is more affected by pollutants and ocean acidification. Note that we would not to end all hurricanes. Just reduce the damaging effects of the most threatening ones. This is going to be needed for much the same reason that weather control on the whole is going to be needed. For purely selfish reasons. Fear it or not, geoengineering is definitely on the way. So hopefully it works out for the best.
  20. I'm still wondering why you're like 'Save the Hurricanes!' Worst environmental initiative ever.
  21. Never mind the reasons for wanting to stop hurricanes, which are numerous, but the argument is invalidated. Why would you want to warm the planet in the first place? Why would you want to pollute the planet in the first place? Why would you want to overpopulate the planet in the first place? etc. etc. etc. We're already set down this path.
  22. Maybe you can explain to us why stopping hurricanes is asinine. Because that's high on my wtf scale. Are you afraid of technology? Is that is? Because we've been developing more and more of it forever now and we've already done the damage to the environment. So how about using it to reverse the damage? That is asinine how?
  23. I'm sorry, i'm to lazy to post more. Can you find out for yourself? Thanks.
  24. It's in this thread. Cloud seeding is currently available to us. Using lasers to do the same thing is coming. Further technological advances will allow us to dissipate hurricanes before they expand. Overall, one of humankind's main objectives over the millenia is to dominate nature. This includes weather control, genetic control, immortality, creating artificial intelligence, travelling to the stars, etc. It's only a matter of time.
