  1. Congrats to you both, I'm sure it's well deserved! ..and may the farce be with you
  2. Corey Hirsch. Watched him growing up on the Kamloops Blazers. Vintage, here's a throw back for you: Memorial Cup 1992 (I think). They didn't have digital camera's back then, and it's not my picture. http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/leagues/seasons/teams/0009951992.html http://www.bchhf.com/Backup/Kamloops Blazers.htm Of note on the team...Corey Hirsch, Scott Neidermeyer, Darryl Sydor, Darcy Tucker, and coach Tom Renney.
  3. Wrong thread, wrong idea...im not even sure what such a sentence might suggest? I love our new D. Erik brings a new element we have been lacking since Willie left. Except, he is younger and has an even bigger stick! Out are Weber, Bartowski,...... In are Tryamkin, Gudbranson. That's huge. Massive. A colossal move. It was a a tall order. A big change. They can skate, hit, and play hockey, and they are pretty damn good at it too!
  4. Agreed, they didn't pass on Tkachuk, they instead wanted Olli. It's very likely he's heading to Utica next year, and that fits another one of our needs: a D in the AHL that we can call up for the next four years without having to clear waivers. He's landing in good hands with Travis, so it's an added bonus. I'm not going to leap and say he will play in the NHL, but I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a call up before next season ends.
  5. This is my understanding as well. I wonder if using that little known loop-hole was intentional?
  6. One of our needs was to fill the void on D in Utica for call-ups. It appears he will meet that need. Can't know for sure, but it feels like 95% chance he starts in Utica next year, and might get a call. We should draft ALL D this year. They are more valuable than forwards, and hard to trade for. Seriously, what is Edmonton going to do...? (Trade Hall, Yakupov, RNH, Draisaitl, Eberle for Shea Weber)??
  7. After watching for a couple of days...not many users are using the minus (nice to see no abuse so far). I wouldn't want to use it myself unless something really terrible shows up. It shouldn't be meant for a conflict of opinion, it's for an abuse of the rules of the forum IMO. I was pleasantly surprised when someone got hammered (not by myself, but other users), for posting an invalid Subban Trade off a fake twitter account.. That is the way this should be used. So far, I think the minus is ok, and working.
  8. If the negative limit is just one per day, and it can't be abused somehow, I suddenly don't feel so bad about it. Maybe it might be used constructively and make people think before they post something. (double topic, wrong forum, invalid source, lacking substance, troll etc)
  9. I feel the same way, a poll would be good. I'm not sure how I feel either way, but I am worried it might promote negative behaviour. I'm a bit torn as to what it would really mean though. There was a time when the minus might have felt like a decent tool to stop people from posting silly things, but I doubt that will work now. Instead the plus was a better way to promote good vibes and ideas. I will have to check back later to see if the use of such feature has been fair and not negative.
  10. Found this article, and thought it was an interesting read. Sounds like he is trying to have as much fun as he can now. That's wonderful that he is attracting a crowd as well. I hope he's back again this year. http://www.lapresse.ca/la-voix-de-lest/sports/201605/29/01-4986438-alex-burrows-renoue-avec-ses-premieres-amours.php?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter The article is in French, so excuse the Google translation. Edit. A couple more news articles here: http://www.journaldemontreal.com/2016/05/28/retour-aux-sources-pour-alexandre-burrows http://www.lapresse.ca/la-voix-de-lest/actualites/201605/25/01-4984894-alex-burrows-jouera-a-la-coupe-burrows.php http://www.granbyexpress.com/Sports/2016-05-25/article-4539599/Alex-Burrows-en-action-a-la-coupe-Burrows-a-Granby/1 http://www.tvasports.ca/2016/05/28/retour-aux-sources-pour-burrows After a little more reading, sounds like he played in a tournament last weekend as well. http://www.journalsaint-francois.ca/sports/hockey/2016/5/20/alexandre-burrows-stoppe-en-finale.html
  11. That one was obviously too easy lol. A welcome addition none the less
  12. Correct! I didn't think it was that hard, but save that one in your back pocket for a real stumper. It could have been really hard if changed to black and white. The clue really was in the picture...bleeds red and gold.
  13. Ok Vintage, I'll have to get back to you on the one above in a bit. Since this was getting harder, I thought this was a good one.
  14. The previous one I think its Ted Hampson. The one JohnGould21 posted is Jim Benning.
