One upside is it is unlikely that the team will go through this again anytime soon, as they all got hit at once. However, I think they can probably still catch it again and test positive, it would just look more asymptomatic? Is there a minimum sit out time for vaccinated/previously recovered, or is just a number of negative tests over days?

I expect the media is trying to report correctly, but perhaps the results are confusing. You can be on the COVID list just for being exposed without a positive test. And I don't think a positive is a positive until tested twice? It probably doesn't really matter at this point. Covid got into the dressing room, spread for a few days and here we are. I doubt many names will be sparred by the time this is over so let's just hope they all get through it. Is there any other staff that could be affected by this? Curious who else might have been in that room in the last week? I guess we won't hear about that part for privacy reasons.

Bingo! And a year later, not a single lesson had been learned by any politician - especially Canadian. Closing ALL the travel across border was the only way to protect people. The lax regulations and cherry picking is practically the same as just leaving the border open. You had to go all in, or not at all. And it definitely works - see New Zealand and Australia.

Fair enough, he did do something. It wasn't the right choice though. https://www.victoriabuzz.com/2021/03/heres-how-canada-ranks-in-vaccine-rollout-compared-to-the-rest-of-the-world/ Why is Canada so far behind? Among shipping delays and a shortage in the early stages of the vaccine rollout, simply put, Canada’s federal government put their eggs in the wrong basket.

You got my vote. You could say our government is doing a good job, but I don't see it that way. They missed the boat PPE, then vaccine procurement, they are slow right now on the vaccine rollout, and the travel restrictions were never deep enough to stop transmission. They literally never learned the lesson yet. There's that special group of people on my feed that go to the bar and still went to Mexico. Apparently surfs up in Tofino this weekend. I'm sure everyone here knows the type. They just don't care about anything but themselves. Politely asking them to social distance and stay home never worked, and they ruined it for the rest. I can't even walk 10 min to the local store without seeing multiple social distancing problems and unsafe behavior. I think people are just tired of being tired. If there is a finger to point, it's at the slow vaccine rollout because Trudeau could have actually done something about that.

There's contradicting evidence, but these vaccine's don't necessarily stop transmission. It's possible that you could still catch it after being vaccinated, pass it on and have mild or no symptoms. Nobody can really say one way or the other, we ARE the live research. On that thought, isn't this the second time Hawryluk had covid (variant the second time)? Over 50% of Israel has been vaccinated now. I was hoping to see the death rates drop in comparison to infection rates, but the data doesn't look like that. Unexpectedly, the transmission seems to be dropping, so who knows? I don't even know what vaccine they are using over there?
