  1. He had some bite to his game. Getting under the skin of opponents. I remember the superman punches. I can't remember if it was Bieksa or Kesler that did the milk hotdogs and shots interview.
  2. "The Canucks joined the NHL in 1970 and are the longest-serving NHL team to never have the top pick in the draft." https://thehockeywriters.com/teams-that-have-never-picked-1st-overall-in-nhl-draft/
  3. Each team played well for ~30min. Their special teams were good, and ours sucked. That's the difference. I also though we played D collectively as a team quite well in the first half, and then forgot how to play hockey in the second half. Address some issues in practice. Onto the next one.
  4. No idea how we gave up a 3-1 on the powerplay. That one really stung.
  5. Well Bruce, you got the guys ready and it shows. This is not a Travis Green start, that's for sure.
  6. We are finally getting healthy. Johnny Canuck be like:
  7. 4-3 Oilers Draisaitl - GWG Horvat - Canucks first goal
  8. With our shortened bench, we need to re-acquire Raymond, Ballard and a 3rd.
  9. D-Petey sounds weird. Why not just EP26 and EP40? I wasn't even sure which post I was in at first.
  10. Maybe we can find some gold on the Waiver wire. Probably looks more like Raymond, Ballard and a 3rd, but we take it at this point.
  11. So not playing are: Petey, Garland, Mikheyev, Dowling, Boeser, Burroughs, Hughes, Dermott, Martin, Keeper, DeKeyser, plus some other AHL'ers. Besides Boeser, is anyone else injured?
  12. Hughes and Kuzmenko had a really good game. Kuzmenko looked dangerous every time he had the puck. I'd like to see Rathbone and Karlsson at least one more time. The rest of the AHL'ers should be cut and get down to shaping the final lines. I hated that we started last year without knowing the lines when Green juggled the AHL guys too long. Let's not do that again.
  13. Patrick Lalime has no beef with the Hamburglar https://www.espn.com/blog/nhl/post/_/id/35060/patrick-lalime-has-no-beef-with-the-hamburglar I remember those days. That was a pretty amazing run while it lasted.
  14. Why don't they go sign someone out of NCAA like Jake Livingstone? And if not him, I'm sure there are others. https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/358393/jake-livingstone https://dobberprospects.com/2022/03/25/2022-ncaa-free-agency-fantasy-rankings/ "The big, right shot defender skates well and checks a lot of boxes on NHL scouts wish list for a defenseman. The late blooming Creston B.C. native is a 23-year-old sophomore and producing offense at a rate that will also draw the attention of NHL scouts and fantasy hockey owners as well. Livingstone has nine goals and 30 points in 41 games, but he is also very reliable defensively with a plus -24 as well. Strengths of his game are his skating and ability to transition and move the puck up the ice. While his offensive skills and shot are average to below average at the NHL level his overall ability to impact games has him as a potential NHL player. There will be NHL interest, but Livingstone may elect to return for his junior season at Mankato."
  15. It's a fair deal, with some risk near the end. He's an anchor in the locker room, so I think this is good news for us and the rest of the team. Now if we could only get Tanev back, we'd be set.
  16. I see Kadri as regressing back towards a 40pt season. Last year was an anomaly playing with good line mates on a really good team. I think this signing will look terrible by the time it's over - gross overpayment.
