  1. Yip. Great asset management. Laine for Dubois, Dubois for this. Not bad considering both players wanted out of Winnipeg.
  2. It is the Habs 31st pick, so almost like two seconds. Meh, still seems overpayment, but this is the center market at the moment.
  3. Not sure if it was an option but the Habs are a small bunch. I would of offered Suzuki for an extended Dubois
  4. Seems to be a shortage of centers out there, probably a by-product of teams locking up centers to longer term contracts over the last few years. So glad we locked up JT. I am fearful that we may overpay for Barbashev though.
  5. You don't get it. War is political, about religion, whatever. Remembrance Day is about the sacrifice and the people, completely separate. In fact, it's anti political in that regardless of your opinions, you come together to honor those involved on that day.
  6. Oh man, so proud to say I don't think like you do. I apologize to all those that were willing and unwillingly involved in wars for a society that has cultured types that don't see the difference.
  7. Keep politics and such issues off the ice, 100 percent agree. But Remembrance Day is none of these, it's different and I hope to hell society never groups Remembrance Day in with politics and social issues. It's different, so different.
  8. Agreed. If you don't get the difference, you just never will
  9. Not me. I see Remembrance Day completely different from any of these other events. Call me old school but the struggles of veterans, the ultimate sacrifices, the scars, are different than any of these other issues or causes. Not even close in my book.
  10. I'm all for ending these special jersey nights, except for Remembrance Day. Never forget the sacrifice.
  11. Bourque, Lidstrom, Pronger, Niedermayer, Hedman, Doughty, Keith, all deservedly won. The Norris trophy has lost it's luster imho.
  12. Weber was way ahead of Subban that year. Subban won the popularity contest. Gauranteed you polled NHLers that year who the better Dman was, Weber wins by a landslide. Imho.
  13. EK is living proof on how bent that award is now. I didn't agree with Fox or Subban getting it either. I still would like a balance of points and defensive beastness to win the Norris. I would take prime Shea Weber over prime EK or Fox on my team every and any day. Yet Shea never won a Norris. The award went to crap the moment Subban won it. It's a hype and popularity contest now.
  14. I remember being so disappointed when Larsson signed with Seattle so quickly. Not saying he's perfect, but as a UFA righty, he would of been a nice addition at 4.5 per. I feel our window is now and I wouldn't be against acquiring the right dman with our first this year. Like we did with Hronek.
  15. Agree to disagree. I respect your opinions on these boards 73 but not sure we will ever agree on this. One thing for sure, the future will provide the answer.
  16. Especially on a team like ours that needs another shutdown type in the top four that can move some bodies as well.
  17. I can't agree with that. I would rather have a take care of our end first mentality. EK has no desire to play that way.
  18. Yip. I find it interesting, and hopeful that no extension has happened yet with TO.
  19. This may well be the case. He is ultimately a fill in the gap player where if you miss out on your prime target, these type players fill the gap. Like when the lights come on at the end of the night at the bar. If prime targets are snapped up, time to lower your standards. Lol.
