  1. This is primarily my issue with EK. He looks upon himself, as others do, as an elite NHL dman. He is an eilte point getter, but my list of elite defenders ahead of EK is long, real long.
  2. That was years ago though. I'm just a blue collar tool and to be brutally honest I have been wrong more than right on evaluating players. I will say I watch EK quite closely and have seen him live twice. Soft, out of position, bad defensive sense comes to mind. He is smooth as silk with the puck, I will give him that, excellent passer. Take any game in the NHL, what would puck possession stats average out at? 60 40? To me, I don't see hardcore wins with a defensive liability on the ice for the 40.
  3. Most disappointed if of those three, Burroughs isn't the one brought back. The guy would take on a bulldozer if he had to. He continually ticks of the other teams which we need more of. I wonder if this is a sign that the management group feels positive they are bringing back Schenn, which I would be very high on.
  4. EK is an enigma for sure. Type of player you either love or hate. I depise crap play in the defensive zone, its my pet peeve really so I just don't care about the points he puts up. It reminds me of the Leafs really where the points are a plenty, but it doesn't add up to playoff success.
  5. Here, here Heff. Until EK learns there are two ends at the rink he is a liability. Points are nice but they are only everything when playing Shinny hockey. Make a list of the top dmen in the NHL to win cups in the last 20 years. EK can't hold a candle to any them because he is a negative in his end. The Norris is a joke when it goes to a Dman like EK. Unless he changes his game, no cup for pad my stats boy imho.
  6. Show me a team that wins a championship with this style of "dman" Keith, Hedman, Letang, Pietrangelo all far superior dmen who actually play defense as well. Nice offensive numbers for EK but he is trash in his end so for 20 minutes a game this liability is out there and getting scored on. Just not my style of player and with all those points but lack of defensive ability, or ability to get the puck back he will look perfect in Edmonton and Toronto. Two teams that will never win a cup when they play pond hockey instead of playoff hockey.
  7. This. The guy has one good comeback year and he thinks everyone should forget the crap years. Shut up and put up another good year and maybe increase your value. Oh and your defensive game is brutal so if you want to appeal to teams as a trade option, work on that too. Doubt many contenders have room for a guy that makes this much and is mosty effective on the PP only.
  8. I'm all for players, or anyone saying what they want and encourage it. But it's always going to return an opinion, or at least a thought. I hear a lot of I and me in EK's statements. All I know is it's not good for the team when guys like this are popping off about wanting to play elsewhere. Keep that crap in house and away from teammates. It's how I would handle it anyways and I see no need to speak about it into a microphone.
  9. This guy seems entitled. He's had one good year after sucking for many, all while getting paid well regardless. You got something to say? Keep it internal between the club and your representatives ffs.
  10. 100 percent reminds me of Kesler. JT and EP seem to have a unique bond where they realize they are opposites, but each one offers up intangibles the other doesn't. And they both hate losing. Tocchet hates losing as well. Come to think of it so do Hughes and Demko. Great core.
  11. I'm pretty sure Juolevi and OEL share the same personal trainer, lol.
  12. JT is gonna flourish under Tocchet. He loves the push and wants the push for the team.
  13. Or maybe a competatant GM holds onto a stud like JT. Tochett, EP, JT are gonna blow the NHL away next year, book it. You could see it brewing to end the year.
  14. Ffnn Benning. Lose Tanev and Tofu, go with Jake and OEL, both bought out. Oh, and a throw in a first for kicks.
  15. Ya. Last year, I was so excited heading into the season and I may be one of the few, but I am again this year. If, Demko is Demko and stays healthy. I believe this forward group is stacked. Hughes and Hronek are good starts. Fix the bottom four D and after that this team looks great. Love Tochett as well. Edit, gotta lose Myers though and add Schenn back.
  16. Oh man, that's good one. I'm gonna use that line on someone someday. Lol.
  17. Lol. Proud to say I have left my shirt and shoes on at all weddings. As for the kick? I should of kicked my first wife to the curb at a wedding long ago.
  18. Huh? Three to five players in our system that appear to be ready to take over and become a JT Miller? Who is that?
  19. Keep JT. As soon as you get rid of a player like him, your looking for a player like him. Would be different if we had young stars knocking at the door, but we don't. Keep him.
  20. Shhh, all some folks want to talk about is how JT will be ready for the old folks home in a couple years.
