  1. Lol. Forgot to add, "he has size,," claim him!
  2. This. We don't need more smaller, offensive dmen. Hughes, Rathbone is plenty. We need size. K'Andre is a good dman with size and upside.
  3. And that makes total sense. Once the season ends negotiations can begin with Miller. If it looks as though an extension isn't going to make sense, move him then.
  4. Not enough A potential in that deal for my liking. Several B pieces make no sense to me. Would sooner have quality over quantity. Schneider or bust imho.
  5. To me, I'm a realist. I don't think Miller for Schneider, Kako, a first is realistic. Does Miller and Motte make any sense for Schneider, Kako and a first?
  6. Glad Rathbone is putting up points. I hope he can learn to play defence at an NHL level though. He wasn't good at all in his own end of the rink. Still early, hopefully he figures it out.
  7. Well, they don't run the team. Nice to hear they are so big on Schneider. He must be looking good.
  8. Well, if I had the power to read minds, maybe I'd know what may have happened, or not happened. But if I could read minds I'd be typing from a hot beach surrounded by beautys, lol. I stand by my disdain for this franchises terrible history with D. It's not pretty. I've been on this rant before and another member did point out Luc Bourdon. I don't feel right leaving him out of this conversation, he was going to be a stud. RIP Luc.
  9. No. Correct me if I'm wrong but under JB we have Hughes playing D. OJ = Bust. Woo = Not sure yet. All thats left that I can think of is Rathbone, Woo, and Hutchison, Brisebois, maybe Forsling, but we didn't develop him. That's all I can think of. One legit NHL dman, who was a gimme pick. It just carries on the tradition of Canucks ineptitude at drafting and developing D.
  10. Hughes was a no brainer by the time he dropped to us. I was shocked Detroit didn't take him, but he was a no brainer by the time he dropped to us. Not sure where your going with the topic. You couldn't possibly be defending decades of Canucks ineptitude when it comes to drafting and developing dmen? Closing in on 50 years and not even a Norris nomination in any of them. Ohlund was maybe the closest. The team has been brutal and developing their own Dmen.
  11. Hughes was a no brainer. Sure, there have been a few D picked over the years. Canucks drafting and development of D has always and historically been atrocious. Still is. One home run off a soft pitch doesn't make up for decades of swings and misses.
  12. Not bad and they did well with Sam B. We held on to Jake till he was worthless. At least recovered a couple players with upside for OJ. Really liking Lammikko.
  13. Ya. 26 year old max. Really, this all boils down to the misses with OJ and Jake and the organizations inability to draft and develop D. I don't really include Hughes as that was a no brainer, and still can't believe he dropped to us.
  14. To me, it's an age thing. We need some players that will be coming into there own in a two years. So a 26 year old, established dman doesn't fit in my opinion.
  15. You have to hope to get a player that can develop into a cornerstone, top four dman in the Miller trade. Your not going to get a for sure, already cornerstone dman. That's the thing. Just going by Schneiders stats, junior stats, AHL, various reports, he has that potential. Am I a scout? Of course not. Potential is what we are looking for in return for Miller. The better and more proven the potential the better. From reports he has looked great in his NHL games, has size. That's pretty good potential and by the way this team drafts dmen, I'd rather have Schneider than a pick.
  16. Rathbone isn't that special. No where near Schneider. Also, potential is what we want for Miller isn't it? Young potential.
  17. Exactly. People are underestimating the worth of an A prospect, big, strong, right side dman. They are golden and rarely offered up in trade
  18. I for one have never expected that kind of return. For me, the keys to a Miller trade are quality and team needs. The Rangers top young wingers don't interest me. Schneider answers both team needs and quality. He's an A prospect. A deal centered around Schneider and the Rags first are the center pieces. I feel Schneider, first, and one of those wingers will never happen. It would be nice to be wrong, but I don't see it.
  19. Yip. If I was a Flames fan, I would approve. Actually if I was a Flames fan, I would cut my mullet, kick my cousin out of bed, and then I would approve.
  20. Ya. Situations like this I never really now how I'm cheering till the games are on. I imagine once I see the Flames car flags in Ktown I will cheer against the them.. But really my hatred for the Leafs, Oilers, Flames always comes through. Yip, even as I type, F the Flames. Lol.
