    Makes sense as both players would have value to a cup contender. Will come down to a conversation between the players and JB. But really, neither player have a cup and our upcoming schedule isn't attractive at all. Perhaps they welcome the chance at a cup.

    Just pull the plug on our season already. I for one see no need to make these players, who have been sick, play this stupid schedule. It's not smart and I'm surprised the NHLPA hasn't stepped in. From bed ridden couch potatoes to elite athletes with condensed schedules? C'mon.

    Oh, believe me, I have no visions of playoffs for our team. Add to everything the upcoming stacked schedule? Forget about it. More just an observing the Habs and how they just don't have it either. Surprises me really as I liked the improvements Bergevin made last off season. I think he's scared for his job moving forward.

    I agree the Habs are reasonably safe and I have been watching them closely for a couple weeks now. I gotta say though with their injuries, if there is a team on the edge of collapse, it's the Habs.

    On a side note I like the salary cap and how it's evened out the playing field. I do miss is the old days where players just signed and as a fan I couldn't care less what they made. For the most part, I had no idea, and just enjoyed following players for their play, not what they made.

    Ya. I didn't so much mean it was a mistake as I did add hindsight needs to be figured in. I agree in that it looked to me as well that Jake was ready to turn the corner.

    Actually the mistake was qualifying Jake and letting Toffoli walk. But hindsight is 20/20.

    Good post. I will add Pearson isn't on the PP so most of the points he does get are 5 on 5.

    Puts him sixth in points for forwards on the team. Hopefully a bit of an off year but when Pearson isn't scoring he adds a lot of other skills. Skills that this team is lacking in.

    A 40 point player who plays a style we need. Cup pedigree and a leader. That's what he's worth folks. In the minority but I'm happy to have him here for three more years. He has great chemistry with Bo so go with the player you know works.
