  1. I hope big enough to make the cup look like a pint when he hoists it wearing the Orca.
  2. Real nice to have a 6'4" dman growing in the barn for us.
  3. Love that he wants to play in the WHL. Defencemen factory.
  4. It's not ideal. But he would be playing next year there I'm sure. Rathbone is tough to give up in trade. He's a big piece and if he is part of the trade Arizona should be accounting for that.
  5. Interesting take. Good to hear from a guy that watches more Flames games than I.
  6. Fair enough. But Tanev could be getting some great longer term options. If we match that it will be very difficult to upgrade the D moving forward. It's one of the reasons I want OEL so bad. It's just very difficult to upgrade the D from current decent to Stanley Cup decent. It may come down to the numbers but it appears Pits is readying a big offer. Rutherford has been off his rocker lately and I could see him doing something unreasonable.
  7. Would need to fill the PK hole outside of Myers, Fanta, Eddy. Will see how it plays out yet. Still have fingers crossed for OEL. This would change our team for the better for years.
  8. I'm ready for a possible Barrie experiment. But I get the angst. His D zone play can be a carnival at times.
  9. The fly in the ointment is TJ Brodie who prefers the right-side. He may be a real good option with Hughes.
  10. I hear you. Not many are big on Barrie around here. Thing to me is he wants to be here and after a crap year I'm guessing he can be had on a decent one year show me deal. So why not? It's like a free preview and if it doesn't work you walk away. If it works you extend.
  11. He can still be re-signed at a cheaper deal. The way I see it is either Tanev is gone and Barrie coming in which doesn't leave room for Stetcher. Or OEL is in, Tanev gone. This leaves room for Stetcher as a third pair guy on a decent contract.
  12. Good draft considering we had no first or second. Seems the picks have potential to crack the lineup someday in some capacity. Maybe not home runs but possible contributers at some point down the road. Good luck to all the new Canucks!
  13. Fine with me if he lights up some BC grown bud while holding our Stanley Cup some day. Lol.
  14. Real nice pick. A right side, strong two way dman who wants to develop in the WHL. What's not to like.
  15. Any word on his skating-speed?
  16. For sure. I liked the improved player comment as well. Shows he's on the upswing and that he is adjusting well to the next level of play.
  17. Exactly. Every player in the later rounds will have some warts. Lots of great attributes here so I like the pick.
  18. Not big on the hockey sense comments but hopefully he can work on that.
  19. Looks like a great pick. Will need time to develop as with most players outside the elites. I like how it's mentioned that he is steadily improving and on the upswing. Possible late bloomer with great skating and size.
