Don't agree at all. I think your only seeing the times Hughes gets out muscled. Your not seeing the stick checks and body position checks for change of possessions or out right wins on board battles. Alternatively, physical dmen lose board battles that Hughes sometimes with positioing and stick. Force doesnt always beat force. I noticed he did lose a few battles at times against Vegas but he was overplayed at that time, especially for a rookie. Makes getting someone like OEL really important so as to take more of the big minutes. To say Hughes is bad defensively? I haven't disagreed more with someone on here for months. Also, Makar is caught out of position in his own zone way more than Hughes.
