  1. No one is taking on the Stamkos contract. His injury history, not a chance.
  2. I wish folks would just leave Petriangelo out of the equation. He has three favorites. His home town team, his adopted home town team, Vegas. We would have to considerably out bid to land him. Plus St Louis has the ability to go 8 years. It just isn't going to happen. Let it go, it isn't an option.
  3. If LE is holding up the deal and Arizona doesn't want him could the Canucks retain say a couple million of his salary? The Coyotes are only paying him 1.5 per year then.
  4. To tandem with Demko. Sure. I think he's on a two year deal? Perfect time lines.
  5. Apparently the Knights have been shopping Fleury around the leugue with a sweetner but no bites. GM's playing hardball with the NHL sweethearts.
  6. Been saying this for awhile about Boston and Krug. Why on earth would they trade assets when they can just sign Krug. Only thing is maybe Krug wants to move on. I heard money was an issue. Boston offering in the 6.5 range and Krug wants more.
  7. Agreed. Arizona turns hockey players into golfers that can skate.
  8. Yes. It's why with the expansion draft looming if Demko and LE are the biggest pieces going the other way I'm good with it. Real good actually. Re-sign Marky, add OEL, lose LE cap and we've moved up a few notches.
  9. Far away. very far away is still too close. Yikes.
  10. Rutherford on a roll. A real bad roll. The owner may want to remove Rutherford from the tables. A terrible signing from the get go.
  11. Tough to say but I agree. The upgrade on Tanev is the tough part. Problem ultimately is if you commit to him for 4 more years or so as he's probably asking, how do you upgrade down the road if the opportunity comes up?
  12. https://www.tsn.ca/philadelphia-flyers-defenceman-matt-niskanen-leaning-towards-retirement-1.1534601. Hmm, retires with one year left on his deal at 5 million. Wish LE had this kind of character and terminate a contract he's collected 31 if 36 million. All while being an utter disaster signing.
  13. Agreed. The big looser in all this? The Kraken. Normally more players would be tied up and the trickle down effect would leave more quality players exposed. With many more players, quality players on one year deals, they will not need to be protected. Trickle down effect may be big.
  14. Gotta admit if Boston gets him on some bargain deal I'm gonna be bummed. Adding a player like OEL would really solidify the defense for years.
  15. My guess is a whole lot of one year, maybe two year contracts. Maybe some bargains so it could be real interesting. Of all the years this may be one where you don't want to be left standing when the music stops.
  16. Not sure what you mean by those were all contracts.
  17. Yet media pundits applauded Dubas and his genius on those deals. Lou screwed up with Tavares too. That contract is getting fuglier by the year. Couldn't happen to a better team.
  18. Isn't OEL the twins neighbor back in Sweden? I remember hearing that somewhere.
  19. Plus smooth skating. Real nice skater for his size.
  20. Don't agree at all. I think your only seeing the times Hughes gets out muscled. Your not seeing the stick checks and body position checks for change of possessions or out right wins on board battles. Alternatively, physical dmen lose board battles that Hughes sometimes with positioing and stick. Force doesnt always beat force. I noticed he did lose a few battles at times against Vegas but he was overplayed at that time, especially for a rookie. Makes getting someone like OEL really important so as to take more of the big minutes. To say Hughes is bad defensively? I haven't disagreed more with someone on here for months. Also, Makar is caught out of position in his own zone way more than Hughes.
  21. Hughes isn't Hedman, got me there. But his defensive game is underrated. Drives me nuts actually. Everyone assumes Makars was better because he's a little bigger but it isn't as good as Hughes. Hughes strips a lot of pucks and wins a lot of board battles by position. Yes he will lose some physical battles the big boys win but to say Hughes can't play D is laughable, purely laughable.
  22. Been thinking that as well. OEL really improves this team for 4 to 5 years. Solidifying the D. Maybe Arizona has a good offer for Keumper that they take and then their interest in a cheaper Demko really increases. We sign Marky and then Lundquist. Team Sweden West.
  23. Too young. Hamilton, Hamonic, too young. When was a top quality, 29 year old, low mileage dman traded?
