Should of been a penalty but so should of Marchands speed bag on Sedin. No sympathy from me for Bruins fans. They already have one cup on crap reffing. No more thank you.
I actually respect the kid more now. Good on him for calling out that team and its $&!# show development of the kid. I respect him for having the guts to come out and making it public.
Lol, sson's. I get it and I have been back and forth on EK myself. The chance to add a legit, right side, Norris dman is just to alluring to me. I cant disagree on it being a risk. It is.
I'd be pumped to get EK for 5 or 6 years. A gamble? For sure. But could launch this team forward big time. He's that kind of talent. If it fails it may be an anchor but most teams have one bad contract and with LE hopefully gone I think it's worth the gamble. I assume LE would have to be somehow dumped to fit in EK.
Maybe I came across the wrong way but ya I like Jake. Like him very much. But surely you have to agree he struggles with consistency. The lack of PP time has more to it. He had been given chances on the PP but gave the puck away a lot so he lost his spot which is understandable. I want the kid to succeed and love his skill set. He has to figure out how to be pro yet though.
"REPORT. Leafs Shopping Marleau" I had to reread the title. I mean, it wouldn't surprise me to see a TSN article. "Marleau, Shopping With The Leafs" Wouldnt surprise me one bit to see a TSN article showing Marleau shopping at the mall with Marner and Mathews.
Yip. Jake frustrates me more than any Canuck, even Goldy. Shows flashes and then disappears for long stretches. I just see no point in trading him for at least a few years yet. He has little value and even if he comes along slowly as a third liner it is worth the gamble to wait. Of course that may change if a great trade offer comes in but I dont see it. He's slow in his maturity and we can only hope he gets it soon. It would kill me to see him "get it" on another team.
I think your correct on the posturing and what other teams will offer. I wonder if there is a way to "back load" the contract. Say a 5 or whatever million cap hit per year but in years 3 or 4 of the contract most of the money is paid, not the first two years. Or bonuses due after the first two years. It would virtually guarantee Seattle wouldn't take Eddy in an expansion draft.
Given the age difference and if Eddy is insisting on 3 plus year deal with expansion draft protection I would sooner go with Gardiner. I'm a huge Eddy fan and want him back. But if we are needing to protect someone at his age in two years it's a no go for me. If, we have an alternative option like Gardiner.
True. But has JB really had much to trade with? You need currency and players with NTC's are tainted. As a GM you also trade from a position of strength which he's never had. He's hasn't gone crazy trading firsts which is good. He inherited a mess. What was he supposed to dangle out there as a trade chip to land this top player?
