  1. He is not progressing well. Been involved in minor hockey for years and I've seen this many times. Kids that can blow by everyone at an early age and shoot. They just don't deveop a sense for the game. He needs to keep it simple for now. Work hard in his end, throw some hits and wait for his head to catch up to the best league in the world.
  2. Maybe. I think this the last year he can clear waivers. So the Utica option expires after this year. He just seemed so much more confident to start the year.
  3. Game was out of hand. Even more reason to jump the idiot.
  4. Seems like a great character kid. Can't wait to see him in a Canuck jersey!
  5. This. Is what it is. Would rather keep him around as a bottom six player than trade him. He may just figure out some day as well.
  6. Oh ya for sure. Your not a Canuck till you have a setback I bet the kid has mono as well. Welcome to the organization Gads!
  7. Hmmm. Pretty good numbers. Nice to see prospects trending up.
  8. How dare you say something sensible and factual. Lol.
  9. For sure. I didn't mean to imply Heiskanen isn't a top flight prospect. He is for sure.
  10. Well that's just ridiculous on their parts. Sheesh.
  11. Thanks for reminding me about that. That was funny back then. Samuelson was another injured Canuck who may have made a difference in 2011. Frak.
  12. Little surprised at that. I didn' think Heiskanan was that prominent at the juniors. I figured either him or OJ. Maybe he has had a little better year back home on the big ice.
  13. Struggles in his head for sure. But with battle consistency as well. He's strong as an ox but you hardly notice sometimes.
  14. Still rooting for the kid. I still think his best spot may be on the left side with Bo. Or maybe EP down the road.
  15. This one hundred percent. Who gives a crap what those guys are doing. Been coaching kids for seven years. They all have a different development curves. We got a great prospect here. Enjoy. Imagine our D prospect pool without OJ!
  16. I have to add that I grin every time I read a Salo quote. I'm so happy that he is coaching OJ. Salo was the master of using body position, going into checks at the right angles, and using his leverage to rub out opponents. Exactly the way kids are coached nowadays. JB and Trevor new exactly what they were doing sending OJ to Finland this year.
  17. I watched every minute of OJ as well. I very much liked what I saw. He really got better as the tournament went on and the coaches leaned on him more and more. He was spectacular his last game. Possibly the best player on the ice. I have high hopes for him. He will need to adjust to the intensity of the NHL but he is really smart and I'm sure he will. The comparison to Edler was more with how her carries himself in a quiet manner . Honestly, I'm tired of defending this pick and the comparisons to MT or other D in the draft. OJ is ours and we as fans should be excited to have him in the prospect pool. Very excited. Patience people. Patience.
  18. Edler like. With more polish.
  19. That's awesome. Thanks.
  20. 100 percent on the mark. The toughest part of playing hockey is without the puck, and getting the puck back from the opponent.
  21. I think Canucks would still hold his NHL rights for at least a few years?
  22. Because they don't like to defend. They like to Finnish. Zing.
