  1. Won't be too bad. Should be a fun one with a lot of stuff happening. Then there's the WJHC in August too!
  2. Why couldn't the Flames play well against all the other teams leading up to tonight? Why? Because Canucks.
  3. A sample is useless if it's not representative of what is being looked at. If I want to determine the prevalence of a characteristic in pregnant women, would I include all people? Or just pregnant women? Your logic is so incredibly flawed, but it doesn't seem like I can get you to understand, so I'm moving on.
  4. I give up. It's like trying to explain logic to a toddler. You keep on comparing one player to all players in the history of the NHL. Heck, you mind as well include goalies too. They're people after all. Don't forget the coaches and GMs.
  5. At least we know the point lost against Ottawa won't come back to haunt us.
  6. Not necessarily. This could be his first year in his prime. I mean, its literally a breakout year. By definition, breakout is the first year. He could find another level next year or the year after and it wouldn't surprise me. If he continues playing with Podkolzin and he progresses in his development, there's a possibility Miller's numbers will climb a bit further.
  7. Lol you still haven't come up with a strong case against it. You just keep trying to generalize the population and thinking that is the best way to compare. Even your wife example is completely incorrect.
  8. Yeah he is exhausted. Would help if a backup could play more often.
  9. That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever and you know you're reaching lmao. It would be all your wives that are 5'4". Why would you compare to all women? None of them are your wife. "aGENT Comparable Science".
  10. Nah, too old. Would hate to have him as an anchor in the final couple years of his contract
  11. Yeah you're probably right. I'd be fine with it cuz he'd likely retire at 37 or 38 anyways.
  12. Please explain how it is cherry picking by looking at 29 or 30 year old forwards that finished top 25 in scoring. Miller is 29 and is finishing in the top 15 in scoring this year. So instead I should look at ALL forwards from age 18 to 38?? Talk about manipulating the sample to fit a narrative. Duh... so I uhh looked at Josi and compared him to all hockey players aged 18 to 38 and what he's doing now is nothing special. I don't even know why people are talking about him. It's not even that many points. Duhh... me smart with comparing players.
  13. Oh well, it is what it is. The Canucks just need to worry about themselves.
  14. No, you generalize to ALL forwards, even ones that have never done what Miller has done. It's called comparables. A 29 or 30 year old that finished the season among the top 25 in scoring. I didn't even make it top 10 or top 15 which is what Miller is. LOTS of forwards in their early to mid 20s have finished top 15 in scoring, but few in their late 20s early 30s. That's what makes Miller rare. Not sure why that's so hard to understand.
  15. Thornton had 82pts in 82gms at 37 years old. Bergeron is 36 and was on a 65pt pace. Not much different than his career totals. Getzlaf has fallen down to 50 to 60 pts, but is retiring, which is a very likely situation for Miller once he hits 37 or 38. When I did the research, the majority of the comparables retired by 37.
  16. Outlier or first peak season in his prime? There's a significant difference.
  17. It's actually not fact. As you know, I looked up comparables to Miller (ie. A top 25 point scorer on the season at the age of 29 or 30). There's not that many in the past 10+ years. Miller did not peak at 25 to 27yo as many NHLers do. He's peaking now. That is the difference. Anyways this is a pointless argument. We won't know the answer for another 6 to 8 years lol
  18. Bettman called up the Krakheads in the intermission and gave them the choice. Keep winning and lose the draft lottery, or lose the game to gain some spots in the lottery. You decide....
  19. What if he doesn't regress to 40 to 50pts, but instead is like Pavelski? Would it be that surprising given Pavelski and Miller play a similar style of game? What scares me is trading away a nearly 100pt centre in his prime hoping that all the pieces we gather up are gonna gel and push this team forward.
  20. Yup, and get where you guys are coming from. Just hope you can see it my way too. I think it all comes down to how you view this current roster. I think moving Boeser, Dickinson, and Poolman is much more preferable than moving Miller. I've shown moving those 3 guys gives us a ton of cap flexibility when Petey and Hughes are hitting their peak.
  21. I'm sure he will decline, but I feel if he can maintain a 65 to 70 point pace, he will still be worth it.
  22. Not sure is that NMC a No Move Clause? Or are you saying NMC is Not My Child?
