  1. What? Where are these rumours you speak of? Moving Theodore to make room for Hague is like the Canucks moving Hughes anticipating that Rathbone will replace him. I call BS on that rumour.
  2. That's the reality of RHD. They're extremely hard to acquire. That's why I'd really not want to move Myers without a legitimate replacement already in place.
  3. Yeah he'd be your upgrade on Boeser. Which means Miller and Boeser both get moved out.
  4. I could live with that. I don't think Forsberg will get close to $10m. That's a lot of money in this flat cap world.
  5. Done! I'd take Konecny and Provorov for Miller. That's exactly the kinda deal we should be looking for. Draft picks and prospects are a huge crap shoot.
  6. I know you like Boeser a lot, but I would move him to create some cap room. Either that or Garland. I think it'd be wise to have 3 strong centres down the middle. Not many teams could match the centre depth the Canucks have when Petey, Bo, and Miller are all on their game. It's the competitive advantage the Canucks have over most teams.
  7. You know my thoughts Alf. If Miller wants over $9m, we trade him for what we can get. If he wants under $8.5m I rather we re-sign him. He's just too darn valuable. There's likely 4 or 5 good years left in him.
  8. Exactly. I'd say more often than not, when picks are moved for a project player, it doesn't work out as well as the Miller trade 95% of the time.
  9. And how many Miller's have been acquired like that? Let's be real, Miller was a lottery win. Nobody thought he'd be as good as he is now. Many, many, many times draft picks are moved and the player is mediocre.
  10. Schmidt is not a difference maker. Just ask Winnipeg. Heck, we know that. So the plan is to trade draft picks away for players other teams don't want?
  11. You really think trades like the ones for Miller or Toews happens that often? What other examples can you think of?
  12. lol, I'm sure this Livingstone kid is dying to play 7th D minutes, or spending time in Abbotsford. Yup, he'd definitely pick Vancouver over the other 31 teams to do that...
  13. Cool cool... cuz that happens all the time. Especially for this franchise lol
  14. Why not trade Boeser and others instead? Keep what works and move what doesn't. We made the mistake of moving on from guys like Tanev and Toffoli when we knew they worked well here and how did that turn out?
  15. I'd still rather have a top 10 scoring centre on the team over all that
  16. So for $9m, the plan is to sign up: - A 3rd line centre - Some toughness and grit - Some PKers - An ELITE player in 2 to 4 years time - A Pearson replacement - RHD That is some magical cap space manipulation to fit all that in lol
  17. But what are you gonna do with that $9M in cap space to improve? It's either (1) Re-sign guys we currently have or (2) Sign UFAs --- 29 or 30 year old guys to 5+ year contracts? Uhhh... what?
  18. Definitely makes Myers a bit more expendable.
  19. Ok, NCAA championship is over... SIGN Jake Livingstone!!! GET ER DONE PA/JR !!! 6'3" 205lbs RHD from Creston, BC https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/358393/jake-livingstone https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=197663
  20. Good to see you're fighting the good fight! I'm entering a busy time of year at work, so I can't help in the battle as much right now lol. I'll just say, when people think the window for the Canucks is within the coming 2 to 7 years, and that Miller is likely gonna be productive for another 4 or 5 years, I don't understand the motive to move him. I'll take a productive Miller for 4 to 5 years out of the next 2 to 7 window over gambling on the return for him. If Miller produces at 1/2 his current pace 4 to 5 years from now, he's still a 50pt centre lmao.
  21. Power and Dahlin = two 1st overall defencemen. Not the same thing.
  22. Love Motter, but I guess this is expected based on his injury history. Now I wouldn't be surprised to see Tanev injured for the Flames too
  23. Lock up Chiasson for $750k AAV for a couple years would be good too.
