  1. If they stop trading guys as soon as they become good players, then yeah....
  2. Man, Power and Dahlin to build around on the back end... what a luxury.
  3. Question is, when was the last time if ever did the Canucks have 3 centres score 30 goals or more in a season.
  4. I can't believe I'm saying this, but Chiasson is actually fine as a bottom 6 forward.
  5. 3rd line wing is exactly where Dickinson should be. Podz in the top 6 is exactly where he should be.
  6. Let's try and remember how much crap they took from this fan base until they broke out and became the elite forwards that we know them as today. We gotta be patient with Petey, Podz, Hogs, etc. Hughes is already incredible though lol
  7. I definitely would. Would almost even consider taking the risk with our current 1st round pick. The form of Hodgkins he has is apparently one of the more curable ones, so there's a good chance he'll be back playing high level hockey in a couple years.
  8. People really gotta stop laying it on OEL. He's doing his part on this team quietly playing behind Hughes. If he had Hughes offensive minutes there wouldn't even be an issue cuz OEL would probably be a 50+ point defenceman while shutting down the other teams top lines.
  9. Fair, but if it's just about the total dollar amount, then why not $60M over 8 years. That's a $7.5M AAV. More than manageable. In 8 years, that's probably the equivalent of a $6M cap hit in today's dollars.
  10. I don't think he will get under $50M. You really don't think a team will come along in UFA and give him a minimum of say $7.75M x 7 years? That's already over $54M. I'd say $8M AAV is where he'll end up at. $8M x 7 would be a very workable contract assuming someone like Boeser is moved.
  11. $7M over 7 years is $49M Zib was a year younger, and signed to 8 years. So take $8.5M x 7 years to get a comparable. Let's just start higher at $9M over 7 which is $63M Halfway would be $8M over 7 = $56M. That's $7M given up by both parties. EDIT: Just for comparisons sake... $8.5M x 7 is $59.5M. So getting $56M wouldn't be a significant difference.
  12. Or it's a negotiating move through the media. Start low, and come to terms half way at $8M AAV (when Miller's camp comes in asking $9M AAV).
  13. Yup, and the finishing touch will be when Boeser goes to another team. He'll be healthy and consistently play 70+ games a season and regularly score 35 to 40 goals a year.
  14. I do think it's a great opportunity to see what Garland is truly capable of. If he plays lights out while Boeser is out, I think it helps the Canucks in 2 ways: 1. Gives less leverage to Boeser's camp if we are re-signing him. 2. We know we wouldn't miss a beat if we traded Boeser away. Either way, it would help a lot if Garland runs with this.
  15. With Boeser out, Garland may get his ice time... which could potentially mean more success actually lol
  16. Eh, kinda used to it now after multiple decades of disappointment.
  17. There was, then it was corrected, all on Twitter. Just cuz you didn't see it, doesn't mean it didn't happen lmao. Self centered much.
  18. Wow, you must not be that bright. Look at the sequence of events. I posted that when there apparently was confirmation that he had passed. A period of time after my post, it was corrected. See VC's update to the thread title 2 hours after my post FFS.
