  1. Honestly Alf, I don't think any of our centres are going anywhere
  2. Yes! JR sees it! Petey's defensive game is outstanding in the last little while. His anticipation and defensive awareness has been off the charts. I said it a thousand times on here already, but I really think he'll be like Datsyuk in the long run.
  3. If we went with @JM_'s idea of picking up Nick Paul via UFA, then we could move Garland and Miller out for futures and maybe a RHD, then acquire Crouse from Arizona. Crouse-Petey-Hoglander Podkolzin-Bo-Boeser Pearson-Paul-3W Highmore-Lamikko-Lockwood
  4. I think he plays wing... so more of a replacement for Garland I guess.
  5. I was going through the list of forwards and Lawson Crouse sticks out. Not a big time fighter, but he's not afraid to drop em, and has the size (6'4") to hang in there. He'd cost futures though, so not sure how we would be able to get him. EDIT: Actually, trading Garland for futures, and flipping them to Arizona for Crouse would be ideal. If we could get a 1st and a prospect for Garland, I'd flip a 1st plus some more to land Crouse.
  6. No, I don't think every player has to do everything well, but I think a player in the top 6 should be able to contribute offensively. Throwing a big and tough guy on to Petey's line just for the sake of protection would be a poor coaching move in my opinion.
  7. We need big and tough guys that can play though. Throwing in a goon on a top 6 line is pointless (pun intended). How many players in the league are capable of top 6 minutes, while also enforcing?
  8. I just remember Myers was a beast in the playoffs. He turned it up a notch in the aggressive play. Yes, he may have took some penalties, but you NEED that kind of presence in the playoffs to succeed.
  9. Finally! He deserves this opportunity. A perfect player to replace Motte in my opinion.
  10. Not just that fans have nothing to do with transactions, but what makes anyone believe Evander wanted to come to Vancouver? He was told he could play either next to McDavid, or next to Draisatl. I'm pretty sure that had a little bit of influence on his decision.
  11. Some districts are starting spring break this week and others started last week.
  12. Hospitalizations and ICU numbers are moving up.... not good....
  13. My prediction: NSH beats VGK WPG beats OTT CAR beats DAL EDM beats SJ LA beats CHI My gut says MIN beats VAN, but I'm hoping VAN beats MIN.
  14. What's the take on Lambert? Is he the Raty of this year's draft?
  15. 5v5, the Canucks are one of the most stingy defences in the NHL.
  16. It's really unlikely that the Canucks make the playoffs, but it's gonna be a fun ride. To be honest, any realistic hopes were dashed after the terrible homestand.
  17. I think you and I are on the same page. Now we just need to convince JR/PA
  18. They need to take their time with Klimovich. So much raw talent... if they do it properly, he'll probably be a 25 to 30 goal scorer. Rathbone and Lockwood are probably ready for a taste of the NHL now. Rathbone probably needs some sheltering though. Woo and Karlsson are interesting. Hard to get much info on defensive defencemen like Woo. Hopefully he's developing well down there. We need a 2nd round pick this year. We still don't have one. We only have our 1st. I think in general, we need to let our prospects marinate until they can't absorb anymore lol
  19. Boudreau will stay cuz he can retire with a Cup win with us in the next 4 or 5 years.
