  1. Not sure what you expect to happen with the defence? Hughes and OEL are not going anywhere. Dermott we just acquired. Schenn is fantastic, especially at this cap hit. Maybe Myers? Not sure how you're gonna find another Top 4 RHD to replace him without creating another hole in the lineup.
  2. Gotta be a really confident man to date a multibillionaire woman ... either that or he's arm candy for a super sugar momma hahaha
  3. Yeah Petey's defensive awareness is actually elite. He anticipates plays so well, so he intercepts a LOT of passes. Overall, I think when Petey hits his prime, he'll be a Datsyuk type of player.
  4. Re-signings Miller at $9M AAV Boeser at $6.25M AAV Horvat at $6.75M AAV Petey eventually extended at $9M AAV Raises for Hogs and Podz Trades Dickinson and Poolman gone with sweeteners UFA Signings Josh Manson @ $5M AAV 3rd Line Winger @ $1.5M to $2M AAV Podkolzin-Petey-Boeser Garland-Miller-Hoglander Pearson-Bo-3W Highmore-Lamikko-Lockwood 13F Hughes-Schenn OEL-Manson Dermott-Myers 7D
  5. 60 minute effort = WIN. I have no doubts about this team when they play a full 60. 50 minute effort = 50/50 chance of winning 40 minute effort = LOSS My take for the day.
  6. We can't keep everybody if we want to keep Miller and Boeser. Something has to give. The way this team is able to compete, I'd use a sweetener to unload Dickinson and Poolman. The key is making sure there's no bad value cap hits on the roster. Dickinson and Poolman are making too much for what they bring to the table. OEL and Myers are the other candidates, because they should probably be making about $1M less each too. I'm not certain that it's impossible to move Dicky and Poolman. All it takes is one team to see value in them. I ran numbers as I usually do. Moving Dickinson and Poolman allows us to re-sign Miller at $9M, Boeser at $6.25M, Horvat at $6.75M, and extend Petey when the time comes to $9M. We'd still have some good cap flexibility too. That's AFTER adding a Top 4 RHD via UFA this offseason (I'm thinking Josh Manson). I mean, we don't NEED to move Dickinson AND Poolman, but it certainly gives us more flexibility if we did.
  7. Who knows... nobody thought Hamonic @ $3M could be moved without retention either...
  8. I think Dickinson and Poolman are the two that NEED to be moved. They simply don't bring enough for what they cost. They should both be making 1/2 of what they are getting. Dickinson replaced with an energy 3rd line winger. Poolman with a bottom pair RHD. Both those types could be had for $1M to $1.5M. So there's another $2M in savings between those 2 guys. We expected Motte to make $2M+ next year and he's gone too. Hamonic gone for $3M. That's $7M to $8M in savings and we haven't moved any of the big guns on this team.
  9. Y'know, we get glimpses of what this Canucks team is capable of. The one thing that is killing them this season is consistency. Elite teams are consistent. They play well almost every night. This Canucks team plays so damn well one night, then lay a stinker the next. I firmly believe this Canucks team has what it takes to be a top 10 team in this league. We see what happens when they play 60 minutes, full effort, top to bottom. The goalie doesn't even need to be outstanding... just above average. I'm sure JR/PA see this too. For the most part, this team is relatively young. With youth comes inconsistency. I'm almost certain we went through this with the Sedins core until they found that consistency. With that being said, I wouldn't be surprised one bit if all the big names remain. They've already unloaded Hamonic and Motte. I assume Dickinson would be next. We were expecting Motte to make $2 to $2.5M next year, so really, clearing these 3 guys is $8M+ of cap saved for next year.
  10. Didn't notice him at all, which is a really good thing for a defensive-style defenceman. Ok, I shouldn't say I didn't notice him at all, I did see him separate the puck from Avalanche players quite frequently along the boards. Knows how to use his body, that's for sure.
  11. He'd be a fantastic 13th forward even next year. Complete role player for faceoffs, PK, and light 5v5 duty. Would probably sign at league minimum for 1 year.
  12. See above... it's enough with one more player sent down to activate Martinez. Then limp into the playoffs (if they can) until Stone returns in Round 1.
  13. Could they waive Dadonov and send him to the minors? I presume Vegas is just as pissed off with Dadonov as Dadonov is pissed off with Vegas. So that would save them 1,125,000. Send down Pachal ($765k) as well, and there's your savings to activate Martinez EDIT: FROM CAPFRIENDLY: What is a Buried Contract? Teams do not receive full cap relief when a player on a one-way NHL contract is reassigned to the American Hockey League, or is loaned to a team in another professional league. The players salary cap hit, minus the sum of the minimum NHL salary for the respective season and $375,000, still counts towards the team’s salary cap total. The cap hit relief is therefore equal to the minimum salary of the respective season + $375,000: 2014-15: $550,000 + $375,000 = $925,000 2015-16: $575,000 + $375,000 = $950,000 2016-17: $575,000 + $375,000 = $950,000 2017-18: $650,000 + $375,000 = $1,025,000 2018-19: $650,000 + $375,000 = $1,025,000 2019-20: $700,000 + $375,000 = $1,075,000 2020-21: $700,000 + $375,000 = $1,075,000 2021-22: $750,000 + $375,000 = $1,125,000 2022-23: $750,000 + $375,000 = $1,125,000 2023-24: $775,000 + $375,000 = $1,150,000 2024-25: $775,000 + $375,000 = $1,150,000 2025-26: $775,000 + $375,000 = $1,150,000
  14. I think there's a chance too. It wouldn't surprise me if he signs at 8.5 or 9m. He's probably worth 10m+.
  15. I think most teams in the league wouldn't want to face Vancouver. Demko is scary as hell if he's playing like he can.
  16. Reality is Hamonic is probably just an odd personality that these young men don't know how to communicate with. I doubt he's a bad person per se... probably just different than the others, which makes the room a bit awkward and tense at times.
  17. I really like what Richardson brings to the team. You can tell he's a seasoned warrior out there. The forward version of Luke Schenn.
  18. EFF YEAH!!!!! AND $#@! OFF REFS!!!! We are sorry Mr. Halak...
  19. Let's remember what team the Canucks are chasing in the standings... hint... a team that just had a trade voided today. Bettman's baby.
  20. No they'll stop once it's tied. They're playing the odds that the Avs will be able to take it home from there.
