  1. No major big names are going anywhere today. I'm pretty sure of it. We might see Motte or Halak moved. That's about it I guess.
  2. And you think with the expanded management team and office, you don't think they should be held a little accountable? There's more AGMs on this team than most teams in the league at this point, not including all the special advisors and staff.
  3. They literally could have picked any combination of 3 of the next 8 guys on that list and done better lol
  4. I think we actually missed Sutter way more than people want to believe...
  5. Like I said to others, we KNOW this Motto line works, and works really well. In fact, if they were the Canucks 3rd line (checking line), I'd have no issue with it. If your 3rd line cost <$6M in total, you're getting a heckuva bang for the buck. Then you can round out a 4th line with guys making $1m or less each. That means you can spend a TON on the top 6.
  6. Hey, you know where I stand. I'm not even on the trade everyone bandwagon. I'm just really interested to see how people respond after the deadline passes and we walk into our next game with the same roster except for Dermott, and potentially see Motte walk in the offseason lol
  7. JR/PA: Hey Tanner, would you be able to waive your NTC today? Tanner: Uhhh, I guess so... depends on where I'm being moved to. JR/PA: Cool. <crickets> Tanner: Guys? You still there? WTF?!
  8. I'm just going off how people were talking about how we needed to maximize value by moving the big ticket guys this TDL. Especially someone like Boeser...
  9. So because it is their first year, they can get away with whatever they do? We all know who GMJB refers to. It doesn't mean he's GM now... wow...
  10. Maybe, but according to some, this is the time to maximize value. So it depends on how you think about that.
  11. I'm just saying, IF nothing else happens today... GMJB would have got blasted for it... I'm waiting to see what people say about JR/PA.
  12. 5 years is a tad longer than I'd want to do. 4 years means that 3 years takes him to 30yo, and then he could be unloaded in his final year if he's starting to decline.
  13. The biggest difference that I want to point out is that this time, we KNOW there is chemistry and that Motte works really well with Highmore and Lamikko. GMJB brought in guys from the outside hoping they'd have the chemistry that the Motto line has. That's a big difference. Investing in something you know works is important.
  14. That's not my point. My point is that people would be ripping GMJB apart for doing exactly what JR/PA are doing. Yet somehow because JR/PA are new, it makes it ok. Let's wait a couple years and see how this fanbase turns on a HOFer management boss just as this fanbase has turned on nearly every single GM this franchise has ever had.
  15. So JR/PA can't tell time either if they don't make a splash today.
  16. If they extend Motte for like $2M x 4, I'd be happy with that and the fact the Motto line stays together. $2.5M is max for me... the closer to $2M the better.
  17. I don't think it's gonna happen... but who knows... 2hrs and a bit to go...
  18. But when GMJB didn't do enough, he was an idiot...
  19. Can't wait to hear all the GMJB haters defending JR/PA about how not moving any of Boeser, Garland, Myers, Miller, Motte, Halak, Dickinson, Poolman, or Pearson was a smart move.
  20. I'm not that surprised by this. There's no rush to move any of our bigger name players, and I doubt the other teams are gonna ante up with what would make it worth it for us to move guys. Worst case, we continue to play poorly and move guys in the offseason. Best case, the team gels and continues pushing forward and developing.
  21. I don't think he's that bad, even at his cap hit, but he should probably be a consistent 3rd line player on a really good hockey team. The fact he's consistently a Top 6 on this team means we need to find a legitimate Top 6 to replace him, even if it costs a bit more on the cap (ie. $4m to $4.5M).
  22. I won't lie, it shocked me a bit to see that Bryan Little is already 34 years old...
