  1. I think the more Bradens we have, the better the odds.
  2. We need him. I heard all recent Stanley Cup champs have a Braden (or Brayden) on the roster. Just look at the last few years of cup champions. It's a fact.
  3. Nope... they were working on a unique name.
  4. GMJB: Hey Ken, you've been busy. So ummm... waddya think of this... you send us McDavid or whatever his name is with that huge cap hit, and we'll send you a couple players. I'm thinking maybe Loui Eriksson who has scored 30+ goals before, Nate Schmidt who was a top pairing defenceman for a Stanley Cup finallist, and umm... some future considerations that we can talk about in the future? Ken Holland: Hey that sounds pretty good. The future considerations part would help us in the future. I'll send the paperwork to Gary. Thanks Jim!
  5. Today is the deadline for teams to ask a player to waive their NMC for the Expansion Draft .... We know Colorado's Erik Johnson has waived so far.
  6. Have you not seen what LTIR can do for a team?! GMJB GO GET HIM! WE NEED A CUP!
  7. omg can you imagine if they went together to Tampa at league minimum to win a cup? (a la Kariya and Selanne... albeit that didn't work at all lol)
  8. Lol... wait until next week when it really kicks off with expansion and amateur draft 2 days apart!
  9. If I am Suter, I look at the roster and see if Larsson gets re-signed. If he does, I bank on myself being a much better overall defenceman than Barrie (who I am replacing). If I'm capable of reducing the team's GAA by a margin where the team wins more of those close games (because face it, even at this age, Suter can play 20+ minutes a game effectively), then Edmonton may be a much better team overall.
  10. What are you talking about? You asked why all the UFAs are not flocking to Edmonton and I'm saying due to the cap, Edmonton can't afford big ticket UFAs. I'm not sure what your ramble has to do with what I'm saying?
  11. Can't disagree with you there about the city, but the players spend more than half the year in other cities anyway, and with the likelihood Suter is retiring in a year or two, it probably wouldn't be the worst decision of his life to finish it out playing with the world's best hockey player right now.
  12. Because there's a cap. If Edmonton could afford it, and they make an offer 20-25% higher than any other team, why would a player not seriously consider it? I don't think it's as black and white as "Oh, no way would a player want to goto Edmonton." Personally I hate Edmonton as much as any Canucks fan, but reality is they have McDavid, the best hockey player in the world.
  13. You guys do realize the selling potential of the fact he can play with McDavid/Draisatl right? If I were Suter or any other player in the league and was offered an opportunity to play with McDavid while also making more money than anywhere else for a period of maybe 2 years, why would I not heavily consider it? If I hate it that much, I'll just retire after a year.
  14. I'm pretty sure money talks... it's not like he signed a discount deal to play for Minnesota.
  15. You bet he would if Edmonton gave Suter an offer of $6M AAV (basically a bit more than what they have to pay Keith). I'm not sure if many other teams will be offering Suter a $6M AAV contract.
  16. Ever heard of buyers regret? No? Look up Edmonton Oilers acquisition of Duncan Keith a day before knowing Ryan Suter was hitting the free agent market.
  17. Incredible career. If he had been in a larger hockey market he would have probably got the spotlight he deserved.
  18. Edmonton and Chicago are trolling the Canucks with Soderlund... did you know these are the trades he has been involved with: 2017-Mar-01 Draft pick rights traded from San Jose Sharks with Nikolay Goldobin to Vancouver Canucks for Jannik Hansen 2017-Jun-24 Draft pick rights traded from Vancouver Canucks to Chicago Blackhawks for round 5 pick in the 2017 draft (Kristoffer Gunnarsson) and round 6 pick in the 2017 draft (Petrus Palmu) Get outta here!
  19. I've got Maui booked for March 2022... I sure hope things are settled by then. Maui looks to be a bit better off than Oahu though I think?
  20. Anybody here get 2 jabs of moderna with minimal side effects?
  21. Well, I guess time will tell. I, along with many others that have scouted his play, just don't see him having that strong 2-way defensive game as a centre. Like I said, I think he excels as a winger because he is stronger along the boards. He looks simply lost in the middle of the zone. We can revisit in the future.
