I have no problems with his transition play nor his abilities in the offensive end of the ice. I think his forecheck game is great, but from what I've seen of him, and I think you agree as well, his defensive zone play has a lot of room for improvement. When scouts say he gambles, they're basically saying nicely that he cheats out of the zone more often than he should. Especially as a centreman. One of your references even says he shouldn't be out their on the PK. Hence my assessment of his poor defensive awareness. Nevertheless, he's a mid 1st rounder in my mind. A very high offensive ceiling, and would likely excel as a winger rather than a center. Not someone I would count on for defensive duties as a 200ft 2-way centre. He's not a player that I think GMJB would have on his radar at 9OA.

There's also a shift by shift video on YouTube where you can clearly notice his defensive lapses in his game.

He's not there yet with a 200ft game. You can read all of the professional scouting reports on him. I've watched him play and he's fantastic in the offensive zone, but definitely looks a bit lost in the defensive end.

His defensive awareness is pretty bad. Lacks the urgency in back checks and fails to pickup his man in the D zone relatively often. His offensive instincts are great tho.

[DEBATE] Which PLAYER in their prime are you taking?
HKSR replied to Elias Pettersson's topic in General Hockey Discussion
Not sure why McDavid is on this list so early in his career. Heck I think Crosby and even OV deserve to be on the list more than McDavid. -

So far the key dates I know of are: July 9 - Buyout Period as per CapFriendly: "For the 2021 off-season, the buyout period begins 48 hours after the Stanley Cup Final ends. It concludes on July 27 at 5 pm EST." - Now Open https://www.tsn.ca/nhl-rumours-buyouts-new-york-rangers-1.1665783 July 13 - Deadline for teams to ask a player to waive their NMC for the Expansion Draft July 16 - Last day to put a player on waivers prior to Expansion Draft. Also deadline for players to agree to waive their NMC. July 17 @ noon - Expansion Draft trade and waivers freeze begins. Seattle can sign UFAs/RFAs and make trades. July 17 @ 2PM - NHL Teams to submit Protection Lists for Expansion Draft July 18 @ 7AM - NHL must approve and distribute protection lists to all NHL teams. We will likely hear about the lists through media around this time. Seattle can now interview pending UFAs and RFAs on exposure lists and may sign them. Signing counts as selection from that team. July 21 @ 5PM - Expansion Draft July 22 @ 10AM - Trade and Waiver freeze is lifted July 23 and 24 - NHL Entry Draft July 26 - Last day to submit qualifying offers to RFAs July 27 @ 2PM - Buyout period ends July 28 @ 9AM - Free Agency opens Have I missed anything? Or is any of this inaccurate? EDIT: Added more. Might have some of the times wrong as I'm not 100% sure if they're PST, CST or EST

HKSR replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in General Hockey Discussion
Now the Ducks just need a couple of Sedins in their prime to work the PP to perfection. -

[Rumour] Kings looking to acquire two top-6 forwards
HKSR replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Nope... the rumour was for TWO (2) Top 6 forwards... so far it is just one... so rumour is fake -
$18m over the cap... let that sink in. That's Kucherov and Stamkos level players over the cap. A Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin over the cap. A Rantanen and Mackinnon. A Carey Price and Shea Weber. That is unbelievable. Anybody that doesn't see the blatant huge advantage this Tampa team has over the Canadiens simply has their head in the sand and is in complete denial.

Doesn't change the fact they have the equivalent cap hit of a Kucherov and a Stamkos over the cap limit. It simply isn't a fair fight for the Habs. Still don't understand why the cap doesn't matter in terms of the lineup on the ice in the playoffs... it is what it is tho... the Lightning will repeat without a doubt.
