James Norris Memorial Trophy finalists unveiled
HKSR replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in General Hockey Discussion
Just a humble reminder. I know Hughes had a down year, but he has a lot to learn on the defensive side of the puck to be considered as a #1 defenceman in this league. -
The heat wave got to this man.

[Signing] Canucks sign Vasili Podkolzin
HKSR replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Heckuva guy. Classy as they come. I met him years ago and he was as patient and down to Earth as they come when it came to fans and especially children. I've got nothing but the utmost respect for Larionov. -
Wait... so the best thing to do to cool down is to lick salt while drinking microwaved soda or sports drinks in a hot tub? Ok... here goes nothing........

[Signing] Oilers re-sign Ryan Nugent-Hopkins
HKSR replied to drofssalg's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
I guess the question is "If someone offered you $41M to live in Edmonton for the next 8 years, would you do it?" The funny thing is, I dunno if I actually would lmao.... sure it's a ton of money, but living in Edmonton .... ugh.... -
[Signing] Oilers re-sign Ryan Nugent-Hopkins

And then for whatever damn reason he will regress and only be effective on the PK and scoring empty net goals. -
(Rumour) Foegele (Carolina) & Arvidsson (Nashville) available?
HKSR replied to Podz92's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Foegele would be a nice addiition. Good size and skill. Probably wouldn't be a big cap hit either. Maybe $3M AAV? I think the ship has sailed for Arvidsson though... 5'9" forward turning 29 soon, and $4.25M cap hit ... no thank you. -
Colorado is sure to be calling NJ about this... they have to move one of their good, young defencemen anyways. Why not package one for 4th OA and pick another blue chip prospect.

[Signing] Oilers re-sign Ryan Nugent-Hopkins

Nugent Hopkins is a good player, it was just his current AAV was too high for what he brings. At $5M AAV he is a good value player. -
The "Hindsight is 20/20" Draft Reflection Thread
HKSR replied to HKSR's topic in Prospects / Farm Team
I'm starting to feel like I should rename this to the "Canucks vehicle and automobile accident thread" .... -
Got my 2nd dose of Pfizer yesterday and am a bit concerned. I'm starting to be developing what I can only explain as a mild form of X-ray vision. I'm starting to be able to see through people's clothing... it has me alarmed.

The "Hindsight is 20/20" Draft Reflection Thread
HKSR replied to HKSR's topic in Prospects / Farm Team
Here's another one: "Can someone enlighten me on why people are so high on Glass (sounds like a Breaking Bad line or something lol). From what I've seen of him, there's zero creativity in his game. Watching his highlights reminds me of how I felt about Virtanen. Receiving passes from teammates in perfect scoring positions is fine, but I saw next to nothing in terms of him creating plays on his own. Vilardi and Mittlestadt are far superior in that respect. I'd argue that Mittlestadt looks to be the most skilled out of the bunch." I was really keen on Mittlestadt, glad GMJB knew better lol. I didn't and still don't see much in Glass, so wasn't too concerned about him being selected before the Canucks. -

Even if he was, I wouldn't wish this on anyone. The pain he and his wife are probably going through right now is unimaginable.- 20 replies

Thought it would be fun to have a thread regarding our prospects, and other prospects that have developed over the years, to see what we thought of them when they were truly just prospects. Simply goto your profile and look up your old activity (See My Activity), and find Forum Posts. Here's one of mine... my thoughts on Virtanen back in 2016/17: "Exactly. I'm actually curious what some of you Virtanen supporters are thinking in terms of where he'll end up in his career? Personally, I'm with Timberwolf... 3rd line player that can hit hard and chip in goals. I see his peak season being about 20 goals, but consistently a 10-15 goal scorer. " Looks to be about right now lol

[Proposal] Ottawa - Vancouver prospect swap

Do we expect her to say "oh yeah! I totally enjoyed my adultery journey with him." -
Yeah forecast for Mission is 45degC on Monday. No AC in schools either.
