[Discussion] A Look into the Future Cap Situation
HKSR replied to HKSR's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
Nope, but when I say a bag of pucks, I mean a bag of pucks lol. I think Virtanen could be moved for a pick. Beagle and Rousell would have to go for a 7th round pick or future considerations (if even possible). -

I think it's more of 3 scoring lines rather than a 3rd line per se. The minutes could be pretty evenly distributed as each line is a threat offensively. Moving out the bad contracts is literally the biggest challenge. Agreed on that for sure. And yes, doesn't have to be Nosek. Any decent Top 9 fits the bill. -

How are any of the moves sacrificing the future? Literally no futures are moved at all lol. -

Hey if we can get him for $5M in an open market, then I'm all for it. I just placed a premium on his price because that's realistically what happens in free agency. -

Brock's was $5.875 in a non-covid world. Petey and Hughes at $6.5M in a covid world with a flat cap for at least a couple more years is more than realistic. I dunno of any players that signed $8M bridge deals lmao -

Huh? He's included in the cap hit. He's down in the taxi squad area of the spreadsheet. -
Wow, I was collecting a bit back in 2010 to around 2012, Ovi young guns were going for about $100 and Crosby RCs about $300... now I'm seeing them at $1000 to $3000? What the heck happened? Is this a covid thing? People stuck inside so they're just collecting stuff? lol I better put my Ovi YG in better protection when I get home. Had no idea it is worth about $1000 now.

Which part? Unloading plugs like Virtanen, Beagle, and Roussel? Who knows... that's literally the hardest part I would think of all of this lol. -
Just my take on our cap situation into the next few years. For 2021-22: - The big UFA splash of acquiring Larsson for $6M AAV, which means Edler walks - Petey and Hughes sign identical bridge deals of $6.5M x 3 - UFA LW... thinking someone like Nosek for $3M AAV - Virtanen, Beagle, and Roussel for bags of pucks (this is probably the biggest challenge) - Sutter walks - Holtby taken by Kraken in Expansion Draft, serviceable backup for $2.5M AAV Gives us a 2021-22 lineup that looks like: Boeser Miller Hogs Nosek Petey Podkolzin Pearson Bo Lind Motte Hawryluk Highmore MacEwen Hughes Larsson Schmidt Hamonic Rathbone/Juolevi Myers Chatfield Demko Backup For 2022-23 and future: - Boeser signs an extension at $7M AAV - Bo signs at $6.5M AAV - Miller at $7.5M AAV - Key is to have most of the other contracts expiring 2024-25 to give a lot of flexibility to re-sign Petey and Hughes for the big contracts they'll likely command then, as well as Podkolzin's new deal.

Take the speed away from McDavid and he loses most of his production. If McDavid played in the 70s or 80s, his knees would have been taken out a long time ago. I don't think people that never watched 70s or 80s hockey know how much more physical and violent it was than the modern era. Heck, even hockey in the early 90s was pretty vicious... just ask Lindros and Kariya about a guy named Scott Stevens.

Yeah definitely don't see Guenther as someone I'd be excited about. Probably not ideal to base it all on one tournament, but given the level of competition, I would have expected more from him. I think Ceulemans definitely moved up for most people. Same with Othmann. If Stankoven had more size, he'd go up the charts too. I think Clarke goes Top 5 after that tournament along with Power, Beniers, Hughes, and Edvinsson (yes, I think the Swede is still a Top 5 commodity in this draft) If the Canucks can somehow land Clarke or Ceulemans out of this draft, I'd be extremely happy.

He's basically Ryan Getzlaf to me. He would be a great addition to any team's prospect pool.

Duncan Keith Kneed in the face by Linseman...

No! Head shots have no place in this game... make an example of him... fine him. In all seriousness tho... I LOVE the fact the play resulted in a SHG against too hahahaha!! -
[Report] Rangers fined $250,000
HKSR replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in General Hockey Discussion
Honestly, I'm not even sure how the NHL thought giving the reigns for DoPS to a former player that racked up 1000+ PIMs in 400 something games was a good idea... yeah, I"m sure Parros cares about the victims more than the goons of the league. -
Y'know who I'd actually like to see in a Canucks uniform next year? Adam Larsson. Free acquisition as he's a UFA. Unfortunately, I think the end of the road is here for Edler... let Edler walk and replace him with Larsson.

[Report] Shayne Gostisbehere suspended 2 games
HKSR replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in General Hockey Discussion
Do you guys not realize why he got the 2 games and Wilson got away with just a fine? It's obvious... it's because he didn't do this after the play: -
Wow... seriously, the NHL has become a real joke. I've been a fan since the 80s, but this league is starting to really turn me off from hockey.

Wow Health Canada approved before the FDA? Better be first come first serve with Pfizer for the kiddos then!
