    Yeah people laugh about PDG in the top 6, but once he was placed next to Miller, that's when JT started producing again. You don't always need 6 bona-fide stars in the top 6. Heck, even one of the greatest lines in franchise history had a 2C or maybe even 3C level centre on it in Brendan Morrison.

    I think the important thing to note here is that maybe Dumoulin didn't want to come here? Seattle is much closer to being a contender at this moment than the Canucks are.

    Only 3.5M AAV though... that's really good value even in the long term since the cap will be much higher in 7 years.

    People on here have been saying he's not even a 3rd pairing guy anymore and that he's washed up and done. Some even said he's the worst defenceman in the league last year. Catch up man.

    He's gonna surprise all the haters here. Just cuz he wasn't worth 7m+ playing top shut down minutes, doesn't mean he won't be super effective as a bottom tier guy making 2.25m

    Yknow what I always find amazing every year? How quickly players and teams negotiate their deals once free agency opens. I mean literally takes minutes before players are signed. Amazing stuff.

    Man could you imagine buying out a player and having to eat dead cap for 6 or even 8 years? That'd be brutal

    Then there's guys from before... Rathbone, Jurmo, etc. Dare I say it, but I don't think defensive prospects are the issue anymore. It's centre prospects. We're really thin when it comes to centres now.
