  1. I can't argue with know it alls. If you think Sandin would knock off hedman, segachev, or Cole, I don't know what to say to you. Liljegren would be in the same boat as Foote battling it out with Perbix, Fleury, etc. Hardly makes Sandin and Liljegren better than Foote. But again, your ideas are the best
  2. But Foote is not any 'lesser' than those guys. You think Liljegren or Sandin would be playing any regular minutes in Tampa?? Foote will be on the verge of hitting his prime years in 2 years. That's perfect.
  3. So? Unless you think those kinda dollars are gonna make or break Aquilini's pocketbook.
  4. How do you conclude things like that? A lot of those guys you mentioned haven't even touched an NHL career yet lmao Bahl, Sandin, and Harley are LHD. Why do we want them? To play on the 3rd pair and battle it out with Dermott? Iorio is interesting, but not sure how he's any better than Foote. Salomonsson has issues with defensive awareness and hockey IQ. Liljegren does not COMPLIMENT our LHD very well. We need a defence first RHD badly. Pinelli is a tiny centre Woll? The goalie? Why? I'll take a 1st round pick for Schenn if we could get one. That'd be worth it.
  5. They are all about the same. Not sure how Foote is any worse when he has the size, mobility, snarl, and IQ all in one package. I just see Foote as a younger, more mobile version of Schenn. Isn't Pinelli a 5'9" centre?
  6. Foote is coaching here now. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if one of his sons ends up being traded here.
  7. If we needed a contract opening that badly, we could simply walk away from a number of AHL guys that are free agents at years end. Didn't have to be a guy like Pederson. John Stevens is an example.
  8. Doesn't mean he doesn't have what it takes. Perhaps all he needs is more playing time to hone is craft in the big leagues. I sure wouldn't write off a defenceman like that when he was 23yo just last month.
  9. He JUST turned 24... 6'5" RHD monster with very high hockey IQ and solid mobility. What exactly do you not like about him?
  10. Honestly, could be a Bjorkstrand type of deal. A 3rd and a 4th.
  11. Yeah I don't know why people keep talking about roster spots like we have 1 spot left. How many spots do people think we need in a Horvat trade? Horvat leaving gives us 4 spots right there unless they think we're getting 5 players back for him lmao Management screwed up. Simple as that.
  12. Not saying they are not playing well... but playing well and still losing saps confidence left and right.
  13. If that's our standard of a winning environment, no wonder the Canucks have never won anything lol
  14. Exactly. They're playing sub .500 hockey right now. Clearly they could use a player that is nearly a goal per game in the AHL. Of course a winning environment doesn't matter in developing prospects...
  15. Abby has 5 wins in 11 games in the month of January. In December they were 8-3 in 11 games. Just throwing that out there. Not sure if a sub .500 winning % is considered doing well lol.
  16. The number of highly touted prospects with ruined development is way more than it should be. Think about all the players that looked like legit talents when drafted throughout all the rounds... then the Canucks get their hands on them and the rest is history.
  17. Exactly. The piss poor attitude of "oh well, he's a dime a dozen and can be replaced" is why our prospects have such a crappy track record of being developed in the system. If our development program was better, we'd probably see a bit more come out of our later rounds. Multiple GMs and multiple scouts over a decade and we haven't produced much, if anything, outside of the 1st or 2nd rounds. Maybe it's time we look at the problem being development rather than scouting. Losing guys like this doesn't hurt the big club, but it sure as hell hurts our farm team.
  18. What stawns said. The better the team is in Abby, the better the environment for which our prospects develop. Who cares if Karlsson is ready to take on a bit more. It would be massively beneficial if Pederson was there to take any pressure off of Karlsson to begin with.
  19. We'll see. Our development process has been absolutely atrocious.
  20. Throwing guys into situations because there's no other options is a terrible way to develop player's confidence in a role. Way better to have the option.
  21. No kidding, these moves might look minor, but it's all part of the reason why the development of prospects for this franchise is absolute crap. Pederson was a very good asset for Abby and therefore development of our OTHER prospects.
  22. I think Buffalo or Ottawa would take him. He's still a free 20 goal scorer that's 25 years old lol. It's not like he's on a 7 year contract either. It's 2 years after this one.
  23. Just shut down Demko too. He won't be back until late February at the earliest anyway.
