  1. 1st overall? First and foremost, Columbus would like to thank the real-life Calgary Flames. 35 points from Kessel, Brassard, and Dumoulin.
  2. L.A. have had some trade discussions on the following players: Tyler Seguin Alex Killorn Connor Brown Zach Hyman If interested, let me know soon, as may be close to dealing 1 or more of them. Looking for picks, prospects, and/or younger players.
  3. Kings send down David Rittich, and call up Joonas Korpisalo. @Nail
  4. #BREAKING - There are multiple reports out of Columbus that a guy named Eric who plays for the RL Wild has been dealt. ...Or is that one report of multiple Erics? Confirming details. @SmartInsiderMan
  5. There was some made up crap with the lawyer, Trish, and Malcolm, but it was all pointless drivel. It was absolutely terrible. I only gave it a 3 because it was at least reasonably well-acted, and actually seemed to be going somewhere at times. Along the way, it held my interest enough to finish it, but then when I looked back at what really happened, I was shocked it all got green-lighted. Oh yeah, and 1 point was simply for...
  6. I have 184.5 from my 7 guys, however they are Victor Hedman, Matt Niskanen, Ian Cole, Dan Girardi, Brian Dumoulin, Anton Stralman, and Jordie Benn. Considering I had literally never heard of your top producer a month ago, another guy got his face broken on game 1 of the season, and another guy was banished to the fat farm and has yet to play a game, I'd say you're doing pretty darn good!
  7. Jessica Jones, season 2 - 3/10 The first season was outstanding, but that was mostly due to David Tennant's portrayal of Kilgrave, which may be my favourite TV villain of all time. So even when another part of the cast/script misfired, his character remained the central figure, and carried the show. Luke Cage was also a highlight. I put off watching season 2, because I feared it might be a let-down without those characters. But it's beyond a let-down...it's a vapid mess. It bounces around with storylines and plot developments, but none of them have any weight. The heroine is stupid. Her friend is stupid. Her lawyer is stupid. And the villain is stupid. And when it all comes to a head, the ending is ridiculously anti-climactic. ...Oh well, at least the 2nd best Netflix Marvel villain is back.
  8. Kings call send down Joonas Korpisalo, Mathieu Joseph, and Travis Dermott. Call up David Rittich, Michael Amadio, and Pontus Aberg. @Nail
  9. Jackets are happy to keep Dumoulin in the fold. He has pretty average numbers in the regular season, but every year he turns it up decidedly for the playoffs. And with 2 other impending UFA D-men (Stralman & Benn), we wanted to make sure we kept at least one of them.
  10. Despite still being fairly high in the standings, the Kings are leaning towards retooling this year. Certain developments make us question whether we'll be able to contend in the playoffs, as we are mostly lacking top-line players from the RL contenders (Tampa, Winnipeg, Nashville, San Jose, Pittsburgh, Washington). And our franchise D-man, Drew Doughty, is on a real-life team that looks to be a tire-fire this year. However, we have a number of solid players from playoff teams, that we are open to offers on. We aren't going to blow it up, but are willing to listen on a number of players, and will make a deal for them if we think there is a strong enough future benefit. Here is our current roster. Red = available, Blue = available depending on NTC/NMC list, Black = not available (either want to keep, or unable to move due to contractual/GM rep reasons): Alex Debrincat - Tyler Seguin - Alex Radulov Alex Killorn - Mikael Backlund - Craig Smith Zach Hyman - Vladimir Sobotka - Connor Brown Jordan Martinook - Andrew Copp - Ryan Reaves Dmitry Orlov - Drew Doughty Esa Lindell - Colin Miller Niklas Kronwall - Dan Girardi Braydon Coburn, Travis Dermott Devan Dubnyk Joonas Korpisalo David Rittich Also open to offers on the following players in the minors. Each is a potential playoff player/call-up: F: Emil Pettersson, Pontus Aberg, Mikka Salomaki, Shane Gersich, Travis Boyd D: Ethan Prow, Carson Soucy, Michael Kapla
  11. No hits tonight, Zac? One goal, and you forgot your place?
  12. Zac Rinaldo has been definitely earning his $750K in hits, along with the odd block and fight. But chipping in with the GWG tonight? Talk about bang for your buck!
  13. For teams looking to beef up, just a reminder that Minnesota is open for business. Two players on the block are performing quite well: Michael Frolik, RW - 17 pool points $4.3M x 2 remaining, 50% retention throughout available Ian Cole, D - 16 pool points $4.25M x 3 remaining, 50% retention for first 2 years available
  14. Kings send down Mikhail Vorobyev and call up Mathieu Joseph. @Nail
  15. Yeah, the 3 goalie thing is handy. Allows me to periodically call up Rittich if my other 2 aren't playing.
  16. Kings activate Vladimir Sobotka and call up Joonas Korpisalo. Send down Michael Amadio and David Rittich. @Nail
  17. You'll love this then: (EDIT - This link is better: https://www.thisisinsider.com/movie-title-said-during-movie-2017-6) It's usually hokey, or at least reasonably natural. But in Annihilation it couldn't have been more out-of-place.
  18. The ending of Interstellar is, IMO, the worst movie ending of all time. Up until the last half-hour, I was really enjoying the movie. But 30 minutes later, I loathed it beyond measure.
  19. I'm no movie-analysis expert, but it seems the events of the movie were mirroring the protagonist's life. It's a really interesting and deeply symbolic movie, that was well-done from beginning to end, and has left me thinking about it for days. The only thing that held it back from a higher score for me was the ending, because it jumped around a lot (which felt weird, as it was fairly slow-paced up to that point), and I think just felt TOO symbolic.
  20. (Looks at Tampa roster) ....We'd kill you in a playoff series!
  21. CBJ - Prospect Report It's still early in the season, but it's nice to see Cameron Hebig and Spencer Smallman starting out their AHL careers at a point-per-game. Also Liam Foudy picking up where he left off last season, with 6 goals in his first 7 games. Clayton Phillips, the highly touted D prospect who surprised everyone by going pointless in his 11 NCAA games last year, has started hot with 4 points in his first 2 games. And Devon Toews...can NYI please call this guy up already? But so far, the most encouraging results have been from Oliver Okuliar, who we recently drafted in the 4th round. He was highly ranked by some (even making Pronman's Top-74 list), and seemed to be the type of player that could thrive in Puck. He had been described as an absolute buzzsaw, who threw hits with reckless abandon. But he ended up going undrafted IRL. Perhaps some GMs were worried by an apparent lack of discipline - even as a top scorer, he was the most penalized player in the Slovakia U20 league, with 193 PIMs in 55 total games (regular season and playoffs). So this season Okuliar came over to Canadian Junior, and is playing for the Sherbrooke Phoenix (who drafted him 25th overall in the import draft). Despite moving across the planet, having to learn the NA game, and not playing for a strong team (I don't think there is a single player on the team who has been drafted), he is leading the team in scoring with 10 points in his first 10 games (ahead of potential 2019 1st rounder Samuel Poulin). Also, he seems to have cleaned up his game a lot, as he only has 6 PIMs so far. If he keeps this up, teams won't be passing on him again - he may even go in the top-half of the draft.
  22. Annihilation - 7.5/10 Very trippy sci-fi. Loved the music, and the use of colours. Found the ending disjointed, but overall a great movie.
  23. Austin Watson's team here... I assume that it is just like the real NHL - they continue to take a roster spot, and their cap hit still applies. If that weren't the case, then a suspension wouldn't really penalize the team that employs the player.
