  1. Agreed. For me, I've always been of the mind that if he accepts less than market value to play for Vancouver, do it. If he's simply going to the highest bidder, then pass. Sounds like Buffalo thought the same.
  2. Yup. And Buffalo didn't dump Kane either. He just didn't want to re-sign there, so Buffalo got what they could for him. 5 points in 3 games with San Jose, and seemingly great chemistry with Pavelski. I could definitely see the Sharks re-signing him if this keeps up.
  3. My favourite part of this post was that you used that list of LW-ers we have to try to explain why we DON'T need Kane. Like anything, it comes down to what he'll cost. If he really wants to play here, and the dollars/term are in our favour, then hell yes you sign him.
  4. Loved that movie when it came out. Traffic, Memento, and Requiem For a Dream were also quite good. My personal favourites from that year are O Brother, Where Art Thou? and Best in Show.
  5. I enjoyed Spotlight more than Sicario (which started strong, but fizzled IMO). But still, gave Spotlight an 8...as in very good, but not outstanding. As for who gets the Oscar, who cares? They gave Best Picture to Gladiator! That was the moment that I realized it was all a giant crock of crap. I don't watch that many movies anymore (still haven't seen Brooklyn or Room), but I can confidently say that Hunt For the Wilderpeople was the best movie of 2016.
  6. Just saw this too. Very well done film, about a very important subject. I'd probably give it an 8.
  7. Demko is 22. Vasilevsky and Murray are 23. Hellebuyck is 24. Demko should be ready to get into NHL action next season. This year, there's simply no point.
  8. 10 Cloverfield Lane - 7/10 Well done, totally unique suspense flick. Really enjoyed it. The ending was crazy. Probably would have been even more shocking if there wasn't the connection to Cloverfield. In fact, the whole movie would have likely been a bit better. But I shouldn't complain, seeing how rarely I seem to truly enjoy a movie nowadays.
  9. Of course not...you're a wolf. If you want some pork, just go blow a house down!
  10. I made absolutely killer pulled pork and ribs in my Instantpot - I love it.
  11. I have not seen the Matrix sequels in a long time. But I remember thinking that the 2nd one wasn't all that bad, and that the 3rd one was absolute crap.
  12. Yup. Not nearly as much as Lonerism, though.
  13. You do have to pay a portion back every year, or get dinged with additional taxable income. But overall it's still worth it.
  14. /\ Wow, that's really telling. Lind is getting a VERY low number of secondary assists, whereas Hepo is just raking them in. Primary points are very close.
  15. I'm 4 episodes into Fargo, and am loving it. Billy Bob's character is phenomenal.
  16. Umm, yeah. Boeser was benched the first 2 games of this season. Young rookies in European senior leagues are often benched for developmental reasons. Of the 25 players under 20 in Liiga, every single one has not played in at least 25% of their team's games. That includes super-rookie Heiskenen, who has played 3 less games than Juolevi. It's not anything worth getting worked up about.
  17. You're not getting it. Car repair/replacement is only a part of what they're insuring. Personal injury insurance is a major portion of it. And it doesn't matter much if you're hit with a Corrola or a Bentley.
  18. C'mon Apollo...it isn't that difficult. A major portion of your insurance is against personal liability for damages and injury your car can cause. The $350K Bentley is chump-change compared to the settlement required if you accidentally disable a kid ($1 million is the minimum liability, and $2 million+ is recommended). You are just as likely to cause personal damage to another person in a Corrola as you are the Bentley. So the amount of insurance required shouldn't be that far apart.
  19. When I moved to Alberta, I insured 2 cars for less than what it cost for 1 of them in BC. That was over 10 years ago. I think I pay even less now.
  20. My roommates were always stealing that CD from me. It was the bomb.
  21. No, it's like the CHL (WHL, OHL, & QMJHL). It's Russian Juniors.
  22. MHL is the Junior league. Maximum age there is 20, so Zhuk just made the cut. He played 14 KHL games, but wasn't ready. So they basically sent him back to Junior, instead of the AHL-equivalent minors (VHL).
