So, as outlined earlier in the this thread, I have a call today with senior management within Canucks Business side of the team. If they intend to follow through on deactivating this forum, I'm hoping to be able to convince them to allow for a historical backup of the existing system.

I really think that I can convince them that shutting this board down is a ludicrous idea and that they need to be engaging and growing it instead.

Best of luck. Feel free to post their phone number or e-mail here if you need additional support

Nope I “rented” it out to my friend. They don’t do enough to protect the owners from bad tenant. They ain’t gonna force me to pay or rent my place out. Between the 4 bad tenants I’m at a net loss rented out for 4 years lol the repairs cost more than all the rent I collected. I won the claims against the tenant but I’ve yet to see a penny from them. They are all international students though so I’m pretty sure they are not even in the country anymore. It’s next to sfu so most renters are students.

As a Landlord myself, the time you spend into screening and finding the right tenant (as best as you can) is well worth it. We got a hundred applications the day after we posted but we took the next week or so interviewing, doing reference checks, etc. I live in right by the University so we primarily rent out to students as well.

  4. I like Jack but from what he has shown so far, he's not good enough to be a contributable top six player and he doesn't really fit the mold of a bottom six guy. In terms of being a bottom six center, he's around the same size as Suter or Blueger but there's no way they'll sit the new guys over him. As for wingers, I can't see him taking anyone's spot on the roster. He might be 13th forward on this team but even that is a stretch. Assuming everyone is healthy and no trades to start the season:

    Mikheyev-Pettersson-Kuzmenko

    Beauvillier-Miller-Boeser

    Pearson-Blueger-Garland

    Podkolzin-Suter-Joshua

    Extras: PDG, Hoglander, Studnicka...

Don't get this discussion about the hits on the ice. What does really matter in the end for a captain? First and foremost it's the ability the demonstrate leadership not only on the ice but also off the ice. I remember very well when the Canucks experienced a terrible start of the season with 8 or 10 games lost on a road trip in Canada and the States and Burrows speech in New York was the turning point. It's the ability to deliver a great speech when the things go south. Only time  will tell if Quinn does have those kind of leadership qualities in him. I agree that choosing Quinn over Petey is the right move. As much I like Petey's game on the ice I question his language skills. Pretty sure that he can't express his thoughts in a way to his teammates that would make him a great leader.

If the Captain of the team doesn't stick up for his own teammates, when he's literally beside them while they're getting mugged, then who will?

I heard Sunday is just a half day of training and then they head off for the games.

By the way, I’m not a fan of select your tickets. They opened up tickets to public by selling the corner of the rink first, then going around the rink. There was no choice of sections / seats, and even though tickets are $5 each, I bought a bunch for family right away, then see a few days later that much better sections are selling now, as they go section by section until seats are sold for each section. I’ve since bought more tickets for better positioned seats, but what a bad way of going business, punishing those who buy first by offering some of the least favourable seats.

Okay I thought that was weird as well. I bought right when they were released and they only had seats for section 104 or 105 which is right in the corners or behind the net. Maybe most of the action happens at that side of the rink? Who knows.
