  1. you should text the coaching staff. I would agree with this.
  2. Agreed, if he had just played his game, I am sure he would have had a few games at the end of the year during that period where guys were injured.
  3. No brainer - Gino. End of this topic, no more posts needed.
  4. low wages and standards of living are issues of governance or lack of it. The farming issue addressed above was settled because of governance not because shoppers decided to stop buying blueberries, nor was it caused by people wanting to eat blueberries. It started with a company broke employment and safety laws.
  5. That is a complete neoliberal myth that you are talking about - that personal responsibility or lack of it is the reason or solution to some of the most major problems facing the world. Poverty existed in Indian well before smartphones and is well entrenched in their Caste system which is believed to be around 3000 years. Of course this is all unrelated to the OP.
  6. Check meaning of ‘false equivalence’ . Two sides are not always equal with truth being somewhere in the middle. The Acqulini group has been forced to pay and in their own letter they admit improper work standards. Case closed. Almost all the extorting in our world of 7 plus billion people comes from the powerful and elite doing it to the weak and poor or just people with lesser means - get your math sorted.
  7. This is why we have government people. The letter by the Aquilini group contends that they don't think their interpretation of the work contract was incorrect, nonetheless they will abide by the decision. They have also said they are addressing the safety and work conditions. So in other words an admission that things were not up to standard. I have experienced far worse conditions tree planting - one shower for 40 people, no hot water, no warm food, paid at times lower than the minimum wage, 10-12 hour work days, no regular days off, non road worthy trucks.
  8. Dude, you should get your facts straight as well. The Acquilini group 'called' the settlement demand 'exhortative'. In other words that is their 'opinion/view' and not necessarily fact.
  9. agreed, except the blues actually have more experience if you think about guys like perron, maroon, bozak, bouwmeister and so forth. I am not surprised eastern bias media think the bruins will win. For me the blues are a no brainer. More skilled, more vets, and more depth, and bigger. The Bruins hang on to this myth that they can bang, but there D outside of Chara is not big nor heavy. The blues D core is big and they got bangers up front. They beat Jose into submission despite being robbed a game. Not blues fan, but people in the East have not been paying attention as usual. The Bruins have been lucky
  10. There are two problems with Lucic. First, his contract sucks in terms of moving. Second, he plays on a completely crap team. A lower salary, better team, low expectations and people wouldn't even be talking about him. The guy is in good shape, takes care of himself and can still play the game at a decent level. And let's remember as well that he is still one of the toughest players in the league and has been for the past 10 years. He is Van kid, won here and calls this place his home. I am sure Jim is kicking the tires. People can say what they want about the game being fast but what we see this year and last year in the playoffs is that big tough teams win.
  11. Lucic would be useful for Van as a net guy, creating space, and policing (he is still one of the very toughest in the league). He could play bottom 3 and i think he could at times play up with EP. EP likes the puck possession style and that fits lucic's game more. Lots of teams would take him but the contract is a killer. I understand guys want to get paid, but it must be a living hell for him these past few years. As a player you want to have a contract that down the road could be movable and not put too much pressure on you. An example of this was Alex Burrows.
  12. i agree, but they wouldn't never give up a decent asset to drop him. the oil only have one move - play him this year and see what happens. There is no trade option, no real swap option, and the oil aren't going anywhere next year. The buyout at this stage doesn't make much sense either.
  13. Yes, you hit it on the head. It is well documented that western tech companies have been more than willing to participate in big brother projects for a buck.
  14. There was a time when the pundits thought the Internet would undue oppressive regimes. However, the first countries who recognized the potential of the Internet to control and manipulate were these very regimes. The Chinese gov't and the Russian gov't playing at a level that people in the West just simply don't understand. PS it is not about 'being told' - you gotta educate yourself and your kids on your own - this is the world we live in.
  15. Not that simple. Your commentary is completely wrong on many many many levels. Do you homework before writing. Here is a starter for you. https://carnegieendowment.org/files/taliban_winning_strategy.pdf
  16. i know the place (westwood kid) - we used to go to the house when it was abandoned. Had an indoor swimming pool and the fence along the road was stone. Some good memories
  17. Anyone remember this beer - Northern BC
  18. Prince George representing and for those who remember
  19. I actually thought his 'Provies' was for sports media some of the most innovative work I had ever seen. It was humorous, tongue in cheek and informative. He combined video, social media with traditional text, and this video was often edited in interesting ways that would be humorous or provide minute analysis of a play, player or even fans What is more he would bring in tweets from fans that had funny or interesting commentary. It was brilliant and should have been more recognized.
  20. I think this sums up are feelings for Nikita
  21. nothing wrong with chatting but anything to do with coming back or whatever is tampering.
  22. Canucks are not allowed to talk to Tryamkin. The NHL has an agreement with the K. Tryamakin I doubt would want to pay his way out of his contact either.
  23. exactly, it would take some massive assets going the other way. no way it is happening. Madden would be asked for as well because of the connection. Personally, I think Hughes is overhyped, I would take Kakko.
  24. Outside of a few extremes posters, i think most fans recognize that Pearson is a guy that can probably give you 20 goals a year and that he plays a good structured game. Nucks as I am sure you know have deficiencies on the wings, so for him to come in do well is something to be happy about for this club.
