  1. Been waiting for 2 years for this to happen! Archie don’t disappoint
  2. 16 games in 2013-14. He is a vastly improved player.
  3. scored tonight as well. Benning get this guy up here. Defo a bottom six guy can do it all. One of the standouts in camp. Roll the bloody dice already!!!
  4. He doesn't seem capable of changing the type of game he is used to. He wants people to put the puck on his stick and only seems to do something with it if there is some space. In other words he is not very good at making opportunities for him or his line mates when things get tight. I am quite skeptical that he will be a Canuck for long or be in the NHL for that matter. He was the guy I most wanted to watch this year. Jose when they traded him didn't seem to think they were giving much of an asset a way. He is another Etem.
  5. Archie is back and putting up points - Benning bring this guy up!
  6. I cannot watch but I am going to believe you
  7. Yes, live you can zoom in on one guy. Last night Jake, Vanek, Brock looked great. Gudbranson was very good as well. Van will try to sign him. Guys last night who showed nothing or looked suspect. Dowd looks slow and seems to do everything slow. Gaunce zero offensive game. Goldy was invisible, I wouldn’t be too high on him. Troy with some really bad passes. And erikssson pretty average for the price. Overall the team played well and the difference was the tending. I felt it was a game that if Jake and taken it right to the net on a few of the rushes it might have changed the game. It is the last 2 meters where he doesn’t seem to want to go.
  8. My little troll, I didn’t say ‘believe me’ nor did I claim to be an authority, just simply stated that scouts watch games in person for a reason. For example, live you can watch players away from the puck, on tv you cannot. I watched Goldy every time he was on the ice. He made one semi nice move in the last 2 minutes of the game otherwise he was invisible. He was -2 last night and had one shot on net - that is called being invisible. Keep trying though.
  9. An ‘argument from authority’ would be a doctor saying believe me about the diagnosis because I am doctor. You are misusing the term. Keep trying.
  10. It’s my little troll. Scouts watch games live for a reason.
  11. I was at the game last night. Goldy was invisible.

just think if he had stuck it out in Utica he would probably be up now with Sven injured.
  13. Hutton can be good at times, but when he is bad he looks like a beer league player.
  14. Currently we have 3 pylons on D - Edler, Hutton, and Guddy. Edler won't leave but his days are numbered, so it becomes a question of keeping which of the two other guys.
  15. If he was still an Oiler he would be playing and Talbot would be sitting.
  16. You are overreacting. Calgary is a profitable hockey market. Leaving the market cause the gov't doesn't want to pay tax dollars would be a big black eye for the NHL - they the NHL don't want to go there. I love hockey but absolutely agree with the gov't standing up to the flames on this. Tax money needs to be used in the best interests of a community. The research on lack of benefits to building an arena are clear - adds nothing. If money grew on trees yeah lets do it. The flames are valued at 435 million that is because they are in calgary. These teams below are valued because of where they are. Calgary is a good market for the NHL anyway you want to look at it. Carolina Hurricanes: $225 million Arizona Coyotes: $220 million Florida Panthers: $186 million
  17. Pouliot is getting better very quickly that is a good sign
  18. i like him a lot, but his decision to go back from the standpoint of competition and quality is like someone deciding to choose the AHL over the NHL. Of course he had off ice reasons but there shouldn't be any surprise about him doing well in the K. We got Stech, Pouliot, Tanev, Hutton as guys who still got many years. Might toss in Guddy cause Benning seems to want him. But we got Juolevi, Chatfield, Brisebois, and Sautner is apparently doing well right now. Not to mention Holm and McEneny. My point being is probably from a development standpoint going to the K might have not been the best move if he wants to be a top 2 big minutes guy. He's got some serious competition. Sautner has got some history Captained the Oil Kings in 2014-15. Member of the 2014 Memorial Cup Championship team and won the WHL plus-minus award with a plus-59 rating that same season. In 2011-12, skated in 59 games for Edmonton, winning the WHL Championship and reaching the Memorial Cup Tournament. Compiled 24-93-117 with a plus-125 in 265 career WHL games.
  19. he has done various interviews, I've read them all. His most recent he said he loved his teammates, liked the city, thought the canuck organization was good (not talking about the coaching), and would return to the team. His main reason was to go home. The manager of his current team had warned about him going over because he thought he was still too young and not used to living outside of Russia - he was right.
  20. more complicated than that. In his interview he said the main issue was family. If he was in Van hard to think he is going to get more minutes than Tanev, Del Zotto, Elder and would be a 4,5,6 guy most nights. He will be back in the NHL at some point either with us or traded for a very decent player or pick.
  21. And there is zero media coverage and some nights you can play in front of less than 5000 people. gud after his fight the other night came back and got an applause from the crowd. That only happens in real hockey markets. Florida will also never spend to cap. Lower taxes and nice weather is not what pros play for
  22. Yeah, he is obviously ready to move on from college hockey. I have followed him closely for the past few years and would describe him as you have, he plays a very up and down the ice game. He is not going to be a superstar as some people seem to think, but rather a very good top 6 guy and worse case scenario a very very good third line guy. Bottomline Benning has drafted a player that looks like he will be a NHLer and one that might make it sooner rather than later.
  23. yes, a rebuild with the objective of winning a cup.
