[PGT] Nashville Predators at Vancouver Canucks | Nov. 05, 2021

can we go back to the way we were playing last year? lol we get smoked 5v5 but at least we look way better on the special team XD now we put all the efforts in 5v5 defensively and have 0 offense 0 pp 0 pk.. at least last year it was just horrible defense lol now it's horrible offense pk pp and good/great defense goaltending 5v5 -
we were never expected to challenge for the division.. but with how well the flames are playing.. it might be a big issue making the playoff.. i think it's fairly safe to say only 3 teams is making the playoff from the pacific.. highly unlikely any of the pacific team gets the 2nd wild card spot.. edmonton will prolly end up running away with the division regardless of whatever you guys think about their defense or goalie.. they can outscore their defensive issue during the regular season.. vegas will probably float above water till all their injured players are back and then pull away in 2nd place.. depending how sutter have the flames playing the entire season that might be the team we realstically have a chance to catch.. but unless we figure out this PP and PK real fast.. and stop giving up the first goal every game.. 8 out of 10 so far this season 60% last season.. and with like a 37% win rate giving up 1st goal.. we might be out of it real quick..

Might as well just stick myer in there just to stand in front of the net -
Theres a difference between Lockwood and Karlsson. Lockwood wanted to play in the ncaa where he can't sign a elc and continue to play vs Karlsson where he can sign a elc and the Canucks can still let him play in Europe. The Canucks could have just signed him to a elc last summer and kept his rfa status but choose not to. What does that tell the player? We are not sure whether or not we want you so let see how you do next season when hes about to become a ufa?

Lol? All I said is he doesn't have the foot speed right now to make it in the NHL and he's a fringe nhler at best? What does that have to do with writing him off as a failure? A fringe nhler vs one with top 6 potential. You can book it he's not going to sign with the Canucks.. why would he sign his elc with the Canucks when he's going to be a free agent and can sign with any team that wants him? U don't think if the canucks think of him as part of the future they would have already signed him to a elc and not wait til we about to lose his rights for nothing? The canucks can't afford to sign him to a elc during the summer and let him play in Europe? There's now 0 reason for Linus Karlsson to sign his elc and not go the free agent route if he continues his pace in Europe. The trade was a terrible trade. I don't care if we traded dahlen or not. But the trade for Karlsson is a terrible one regardless of what u think or what I think about his skill speed or whatever. Coz as it stands unless he miraculously signs his elc with the Canucks when there's no reason to. The trade ends up as burrows for nothing.

Canucks are really the only team that spent like crazy on the bottom 6 in recent years. Ferland beagle Sutter rousell etc. Most teams are paying their bottom 6 in the 750-2.5mil range per player we have Dickinson for the 3c role at least for the next 3 season. He's not suitable in a 4c checking role. Besides if he's not signed by June 1st next year he becomes a free agent anyways. We only hold the rights to European drafted players for 4 years if he's not signed to an entry level contract. He was drafted I'm 2018 so June 2022 would be the deadline to get him signed. Do u see him signing with the Canucks looking at the current roster and seeing he has 0 chance to even compete for a spot? Prolly not.

tbh even though it's 10 games.. the canucks i think will live and regret it and prolly end up missing the playoff by couple points.. why? coz we are relatively healthy even though we are missing sutter motte and hamonic.. we played like 7 of the 10 games against teams that miss the playoffs.. the schedule only gets tougher and we are bound to get hit by the injury bug at some point of the season and prolly will get hit with covid again like a lot of teams in the NHL and NFL is going thru. we failed to make any cushion for injury/covid related issues further down the line.

He has skills but he doesn't have the speed shl u aint exactly playing against the fastest strongest players so u can get around even if u aint fast. Sure skating maybe u can improve but we keep complaining about pettersson or boeser being slow every year so will improve enough to make an impact. I personally don't think so. He doesn't have the speed to be effective in the top 6 and we have plenty of bottom 6 that can fill the bottom 6 role. So I don't see him ever making it in the NHL at least not with the Canucks

Canucks PP is not effectiveness, any suggention?
wai_lai416 replied to Rabbit's topic in Canucks Talk
i really don't like this 1-3-1 formation on the powerplay.. at least not the version we run.. can we just go back to a standard 2-1-2 or just change it up.. like we keep putting on 4 forwards on the powerplay when we really don't even have *8* forwards for the powerplay so we keep putting out plugs like chiasson on the PP.. we have myer oel rathbone and hughes capable of playing on the powerplay.. change up the formation if the ones we are using doesn't work.. so that we can stop throwing out chiassons the dowlings the highmores on the pp.. -

I dunno tell the player to move around or rotate around? I mean physically rotate the players not pass the puck rotate. We are a stationary 1 3 1 that have 0 movement. Once they get the puck they standstill there looking to pass.. go watch the replays.. how often is it EP to Hughes to EP to hughes to EP to hughes or replace EP with Miller and its the same back and forth between them and the D man OEL or Hughes.. until they get close off and lose the puck? The other team don't even have to move since it's just back and forth passing between 2 person.. look at other teams pp.. the ppl actually move and they make our pk run around like a headless chicken.. -

Ya neimi made a save couple years ago with his bare hand too and he was lucky it wasn't a hard shot. We are lucky demko didn't get hurt or we can write off the season and have more excuse for green and Benning lol -

The no more automatic whistle when goalie loses equipment is the dumbest rule ever.. like the ref can't make a discretionary call and blow the whistle if they deem it wasn't intentional? So what if demko gets a slap shot and his reflex throws his hand where the puck is and shatters/breaks it? Or his hand is on the ice and someone accidentally skates over it? Do they sue the league if he's injured? It was amazing he made the saves but it was super sketchy -

lol our powerplay really only have 2-3 ppl on it.. just the 2 guys on the boards and the guy at the blueline.. those are the only guy they pass to back and forth.. the other 2 are just pylons out there for decoration -
