  1. we have struggled all preseason to score goals.. so what does green do? split up the players and spread the wealth! our top 9 is so deep even though they haven't done anything in the preseason so let's split up all the lines so we be shutout for another period.. we have been shutout in 12th of the 19 possible period so far including preseason lol
  2. lol he can play that role but that is not his role he didn't come into the league billed as a powerforward nor should he, he definitely doesn't play like one. otherwise all 210pound + forwards are powerforward?
  3. ok so let's just say podz struggles in the 3rd and 4th line and doesn't earn a promotion playing with fringe players loses his confidence when he gets demoted and sent down to the AHL and struggles there then what? it's not like he played crazy amount of mins in the KHL either as they barely used him. so in the last 2 years he play significantly less than most prospects developing at the same age.
  4. is horvat a powerforward? last i checked he's a 2 way forward that learned his defensive game playing the bottom role it's literally his style. podz is a power forward stop trying to fit a square peg into a circle hole.
  5. tkachuks were NHL ready from the get go. they are a tier or 2 above the podz. i mean podz can get there maybe? landeskog is the #2 overall pick for a reason.. anderson was returned the the junior in his first year.. and then 2 more seasons in the AHL. if u fail to see how playing 20+ mins every night vs 7-8mins in a checker role that might be in and out of the line up then u cleary don't know how player development works
  6. it's not virtanen in general it's all power forward takes a long time to develop there's not many example of a power forward stepping into the NHL early and developed properly
  7. coz power forward takes longer to develop than a skilled finess player? defenseman takes longer to develop too? look at virtanen? we rushed him into the NHL and 2 years later he spent the entire year in the AHL. playing 4th line 7-8mins a game in very limited role with fringe NHLer is good for a young kid's development vs playing top line mins in a top 6 role? ppl here are projecting him to be a top 6 powerforward not a 4th line checker. he's still developing as a powerforward and we are already putting him into a 4th line checker role for his development. this coaching staff don't exactly have the track record of developing players in the NHL that wasn't literally NHL ready in their draft or d+1 year.
  8. i guess i was close when i said chiasson was signed to be EP's winger lol. Green love his project players on the top 2 lines to spread the non existent offense we have shown in years 5v5
  9. Podz is a first rounder so he deserves the hype and prolly will be better than any of those players mentioned. Meanwhile I believe Rathbone and klimovich is overhyped. They showed glimpse here and there. I think Rathbone is simply gonna struggle like hughes defensively while not as good offensively and ppl were suggesting we trades hughes and replace him with Rathbone lol. This team the defense is certainly not setup for more than 1 offensively gifted small defender that have questionable defense. I think Rathbone and his partners are gonna get exposed when playing on the road when other teams have last change. Klkmovich is way too early to tell/overhyped about. Sure Lind gadj don't have as much hype as the others. But they were always talked about as being part of the future bottom 6 as early as last season. Bottom line is we over hype almost each and every single one of our prospect when we first get them and up until we get rid of them.
  10. Lol Rathbone and Podz did not *earn* their way onto the lineup.. theres simply no one else on the canucks thats a better option.. ideally both start the year if not the entire year in the AHL but due to injury and the lack of depth that is not an option. Also no we are not in the position to trade more picks away. The AHL cupboard is already bare with depth players nor does it look like we have any players to inject into the lineup to replace players that will prolly be gone due to cap casualty.. you can say whatever you want about whatever prospect we have left and hype them up all u want. But in reality canucks right now is prolly in the bottom 3rd of the league in terms of prospect in the farm. It's like when Gillis drafted a few players some of you here were all hyped about it then finally came to the conclusion they were bust many years down the road. We were hyped on madden.. can't even make a rebuilding team.. we were hyped on Lind.. can't even make an expansion team. We were hype on gadj can't even crack this injury filled bottom 6 and now ppl claiming he's not that good etc. Basically all the later picks you guys hyped about have all turned into nothing with the exception of hogz and I expect more or less the same with whatever we got left so we need to refill the farm before running into more depth problem on this team
  11. depends how long boeser is out for and how many games green plays chiasson on the top line
  12. isn't it normal CDC? all our prospect are awesome they'll be good/great nhlers before we know it. as soon as they are gone from the team? they ain't really that good.. not that big of a deal etc etc
  13. bet he's starts next game on the top line beside EP lol
  14. If we are moving on from green I think we should go for a more exp coach with head coaching experience. Enough with ahl coaches or career assistant coaches. Far too many times in the past 7 season we have been out coached during games
  15. lol new york pays more tax than vancouver.. dunno what you are smoking players on new york pays almost 52% of the salary in tax while vancouver pays 47%..
  16. lol have we not been trading away picks? we traded away a 1st 2nd and 7th this year, traded away a 2nd 4th last year, traded away another 1st and 3rd for Miller who's been great for us but we shall see if he's even part of the future as cap casualty or we might lose him for nothing if we are a borderline playoff team.
  17. what i'm starting to see is our prospect pool is starting to be pretty bare i don't care what anyone else say.. we don't have any surefire looking prospect left and i'm not high on any of the prospect we currently have.. i mean the best prospect we had left last year other than podz couldn't even crack the seattle kraken's line up lol. we have been trading away a lot of draft picks lately i'm just wondering wth do we even have left to trade when this team is ready to actually compete? gillis traded away lots of picks and prospect during his years but the team was actually competing all those years.. right now we are trading away a bunch of picks and prospect but we are not even actually competing yet.. with our prospect pool pretty much empty of anything significant.. when we do need to make a big trade for a rental or 2 for the playoff.. that means we have to throw in even more draft picks since we don't have prospects.. i wonder how this is going to setup for the next GM.
  18. did u decided to skip drouin pacquette nemestikov palat and probably a whole bunch more just to make it look like Vancouver is anywhere even close?
