  1. lol well benning did volunteered the 4 year on ferland with no team willing to give him a multiple year contract due to his concussion history so ya i wouldn't put it past him. it's not the first and it's not the last time he do it
  2. Not saying u in general but the ppl on here even suggesting getting eichel in any trade lol.. dumbest suggestion ever for damage goods that we don't even know if can be repaired
  3. Lol Buffalo would not trade for 4 years of ep in a heartbeat. They are in a full rebuild mode what would ep do for them? If they can convince ep to stay for the future ya sure. Chances of that 0. They are in full rebuild mode. They can easily get 2 1st + for eichel if and when they decide to let him do his surgery. They would not be able to get as much for EP when hes about to hit ufa Also the opposite you trade EP for a 10mil anchor that haven't even started his surgery and no guarantee he'll ever regain health form again?
  4. I dont mind the 2.5 as much as I mind the 4 years.. I doubt there were teams lining up to bid for his service out there I rather something short like a 2 year deal and see if he works or not in the system.. so what if he only looked good coz Winnipeg system and they are a much better defensive team? If he doesn't work out we are stuck with it for another 3 years after this.
  5. Sure but Buffalo won't trade u eichel for 4 years of EP or hughes that they 100% won't be able to keep past his ufa. They prolly rather take a bunch of picks/prospect especially when they are rebuilding around power and dahlin
  6. pretty sure it won't happen at least not a 3 year at or around 7 forgot which insider mentioned it but pretty much said JB already offered a bridge north of barzal.. if they were to accept a bridge around there they would have already accepted it regardless of what the deal is with hughes since or 7 or 8mil there's more than enough to sign hughes to a long term
  7. lol so instead of having EP in say year 4-8 at 9.5mil where we are more likely to be competing for the cup you want to sign him to a bridge now at 7mil for 3 years where we are not likely to compete for the cup and then sign him at the market rate then which might be 10.5-11mil or higher depends how well he does? or u want to get rid of his 3 year bridge and start another rebuild before we even compete?
  8. lol ya buffalo's going to give you a king's ransom for a player that wont even be part of the future during a rebuild right? they ain't competiting for the next 5-6 years and EP or Hughes or whoever else u want to dump to buffalo won't even stay there so buffalo will say here's trash prospect take it or leave it.
  9. lol makes no difference the team that will be interested at trading for them will speak with them before doing the trade to see if they'll even sign past 1 year. you don't really have the entire off season.. it's literally QO and then they select abitration and u can't trade them until the abitration is over
  10. so whats the difference if u sign them to a 4 5 or 6 year contract? u can still trade them at the end?
  11. and i'll say this again 3 years means nothing as if they don't want to be here they'll go abitration and get a 1 year and leave signing them to 3 years doesn't mean you have any better chance at keeping them if they don't want to be here
  12. and what have BT proven? and what does it matter if he's a perimeter player or not (he really isnt) when he's able to put the puck in the net? are you a lesser player because you score from the perimeter instead of having to drive to the net and fight for a goal? isn't that what miller is for? or does all 3 forward have to drive and crash the net and if it doesn't go in it's 3 on 2 the other way?
  13. lol.. you are pumping BT tires way too much.. he's very physical.. an agitator with some offense capability.. but he's a liability in defense.. put his team on the penalty kill a lot.. +/- gotten worse every year he's been in the league.. i think ur vision of Petey is blinded by your annoyance with the contract negotiation and rumors of how much he's asking for etc etc.. no one is saying EP is a superstar right now.. but EP have a better chance of being a superstar in this league than BT will ever be lol.. BT will be a good player in this league but he'll never be close to ever becoming a super star..
  14. Best thing will be for hamonic to opt out or retire. No team is going to lineup with draft picks or player to help move the cap off the canucks for a player that can't play in canada cant play in New York can't play in the bay area. No one in the Atlantic would want him as he would miss 20+ games minimum or more depending whether new jersey also part of the ban for non vaccinated player.. Similar in the metro division Pacific self explanatory as they can't play in canada or the bay area Central is literally the only division that would be least affected since only Winnipeg is in the division from Canada.
  15. I dont think they can come exist on the canucks because we don't have 2 capable partners for the 2 of them. Poolman might work with 1 of them and then what? Sure schenn worked with hughes like 3 seasons ago in what? A couple of games? Hughes is going to play a lot of 5v5 and pp minutes.. if schenn is partner with hughes that means he's gonna get lots of 5v5 mins on top of all the pk mins.. schenn is not a guy that can give u 18-20min a game guy.. theres reason he bounced around as a 6-7th defenseman around the league lol. Playing him as a top 4 min defenseman is disaster waiting to happen in a 82 game season or are we planning on double shifting poolman ever 2nd 3rd shift to play with both hughes and rathbone? Poolman never been a big min guy and I doubt we want him in the 22+ min range. As of right now the canucks have poolman as a defense first type of player.. if hamonic is playing sure Rathbone could work. But if hamonic is not playing then no a defense of Rathbone and hughes would not work as it gives this team 0 options on pk and defense pairing. And if any one of the defenseman even miss a game or 2.. demko is going to have a fire sale in front of his net.
  16. Lol does that change the fact that he's a 7th defensive? He's good veteran leadership and that's about it. He's not gonna be capable of playing lots of PK minutes on a pk unit that's already sub 80% kill rate
  17. Lol all those young d in the league have a legit heavy top 4 dman to play with. Where's that player to play with Rathbone? It's already proven hughes and myer as a pair doesn't work and poolman will prolly end up with hughes barring a trade or we sign another defenseman. You gonna stick a fringe 7th defenseman schenn to play with Rathbone? That makes our pk pairing looks terrible. Having both Rathbone and hughes in the lineup gives u 0 choice but to stick whoever the last defenseman u have on ur team in the pk coz Rathbone and hughes are not suitable to play the pk.
  18. The average weight of nhl defenseman in the league is almost 210.. 190 you are 20 pounds lighter than the avg.. so ya he is tiny..
  19. he might as well sit out the season. no one is going to take him. he can't play in canada, he can't play in new york. he can't play in the bay area.. and eventually there prolly will be more cities that won't allow you to play if unvaccinated. he doesn't want to get vax due to family reason that's fine. but if he's asking the team to help facilitate a trade for him while wasting the cap space so we can't get a replacement that's selfish. just make up ur damn mind and retire or sit out already.
  20. lol the hughes/myer pairing last year was disasterous.. teams are going to feast on the 2nd and 3rd pairing lol unless OEL is going to play like 40 mins a night
  21. i like rathbones' game but i dunno if the canucks can support having 2 tiny offensive pmd.. that both needs someone to babysit on the other side.. we don't have the baby sitter to pull it off.
  22. well considering you have to be fully vaccinated to go to games it's really not that big of a deal.. all players are vaccinated all staff are vaccinated all workers are vaccinated all spectators are vaccinated
  23. if OEL regains his form maybe.. otherwise i have to say Edler was better than OEL defensively as much as we rag over Edler about his defense and pucks bouncing off him and in the net. OEL have a far worse +/- than Edler despite his team gives up less goals than the Canucks and Edler plays mostly against others top line defensively. right now if Hamonic plays then i'll say we are prolly slightly better than last year defensively? but if he doesn't play we need to find a top 4 replacement that can play with hughes.. i don't think i want to see another Hughes/Myer combo.. or i guess maybe we can do a Hughes/Poolman combo.. like we had hughes with tanev.. but i'm not even sure if poolman is capable of that role
  24. lol if we are looking at +/- alone Dahlin is far worse than Hughes and is quite a bit worse than his next closest teammate
  25. as big of a fan of EP as i am saying he should get his market's worth.. ya no to 11mil. he hasn't shown anything in terms of being an 11mil player. if he has an art ross/hart trophy under his name maybe i'll consider lol. but i'm at no more than 9.5mil.. as for hamonic.. regardless of what happens with him.. the cap there needs to be spend on a Dman that can play D.. otherwise the canucks are in big trouble if hamonic opts out.. that defense looks even worse than last year.
