Blah blah blah we drafted this we drafted that they can all be nhl player blah blah that's what everyone say about everyone they drafted every year. How many of them actually make the nhl?? We won the draft coz none of those player even made it or played a game in the nhl? Based on current development makar is just as good as pettersson. Funny we rate all our draft pick the next big thing but everyone else's is bust 2 years after draft lmao

lol benning did not win the 2017 draft.. Colorado did... ppg defenseman that can also play defense>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>ppg centers.. the fact that we wasted 2 top 6 picks on atm non impact player and possible will never be impact player.. and we are sitting here watching this team struggle to score and thinking to ourselves are we done rebuilding yet is kinda sad

this team still can't score period.. on paper looks like we improved.. but our top line is scoring a lot of goals in blowout games.. our PP looks like crap against good teams.. we are still a 1 line team.. Bo still have no "good" player to play with.. and defensively Hughes is an upgrade.. but looking at the season so far lol.. myers looks like a bust.. coulda gotten hutton on a cheap contract for the exact same result lol. Ferland looking like a bust signing.. i don't even think he'll be able to put together 10 games without being concussed again.. and even when he was playing.. he doesn't look like a fit anywhere.. Miller production wise is an upgrade over Goldobin.. but his stats is kinda inflated too coz he has 13 games with 0 points.. and most of his multi point games came against bad teams. 20 of his 31 points came against teams that didn't make the playoffs last year. he has 11 points in 17 games against playoff teams which is not bad.. but 4 of those points came in 2 games.. so really it's 7 points in 15 games..

sure they are streaky producer.. but are they streaky because of luck?? they obviously have the skill to be successful.. u don't just randomly go on multiple point streak years in years out. they have the tools and hell even the top line is doing a lot of dump and chase now... and way too many passing.. they ain't the sedins -

Lol so that's like firing a coach just for the sake of firing a coach and hire one that's not really a fit. I'm all for getting rid of green.. but I prefer ome that is actually a fit or at least one that is offensive minded.. i mean we ain't great defensively and we are horrible offensively.. getting another defensive minded one ain't gonna help us score more than 1 goal a night -

Why do we want deboer? A coach that went from Stanley cup final and then regressed every year until his team completely tune him out and now fired... I take an offensive minded head coach before taking another defensive minded coach.. we need someone that can at the very least unlock the offense capability of our top line.. how many games in the last couple years have we scored 2 or less? Ya defensively we might be bad atm.. but offensively we are even worse.. ain't gonna win if u cant score more than 2 goal... blowing out bad teams doesnt make you a great offensive juggernaut -

lol you know this team have no scoring depth when your extra skater is josh leivo lol -
More like a Juolevi Lind Gadjovich 1st Conditional 3rd If they can resign Hall.. it's not that bad... a bonafide top line forward for a late 1st rounder and 3 players that may or may not even play in the NHL.. the conditional 3rd only becomes a 1st if they re sign and win a series.. for being bad for so long they have the asset to give up. Kessel Keller Hall can be a legit top line and they have OEL and chrychun You guys are laughing at Arizona now.. but at least they are actually making progress the last couple of years.. where we are looking the same every year with the same issues.. secondary scoring and defense..

ive been saying even during that great october.. this team really isn't that good.. we beat up on bottom feeders and look like a bottom feeder most nights vs decent teams.. but nah all those blowout wins against really bad teams have the city up in arms thinking this is a legit playoff team.. we lack consistent secondary scoring.. always have the last couple years and nothing really changed.. with ferland being more of a liability than asset and no scoring depth that's NHL ready.. we are gonna continue to struggle for goals for the forseeable future. -

Top 10? How many 5 goal + games have we scored against teams in the bottom half of the standing? And how many 2 goals or less games have we scored against team in the playoff hunt? -
Lol at this point I think ferland is done. He has a history of concussions and he already on ir twice this year for concussion symptoms.. he had a long time to heal in the summer and it took less than 1 month after the start of the season for him to get concussed again

to be fair you guys can't put the blame on pettersson.. when every team knows all offense goes thru pettersson.. and the rest of the players don't do much by themselves nor create anything by themselves they can afford to just put all the defensive assignment on pettersson without having to worry about the rest of the players lol.. boeser can't score by himself without EP miller can't score by himself without EP.. Horvat can't even score a goal at home.. so who else does other team need to worry about? -

we are assuming way too much the cap will go up.. the cap didn't go up this year.. and also cap going up doesn't really mean too much tbh if your team have a bunch of new contract to sign.. players wants % of the cap on their new contract.. i mean just look at the top players back in the days? they get 6mil.. nowadays they get 12mil.. the player salary increases as the cap increases. i mean it's great if you have a bunch of contract signed before the cap goes up.. not so much when you have to sign the players after the cap goes up which will be the case in couple years. -

By the time those 2 leaves the call space woulda been all eaten up plus more by Hughes and pettersson those 2 alone can easily be eating up 15+ mil by the time those 2 are gone. So we still need to have someone to come up to solidify the top 6.. hopefully podkolzin. -

i was at the game but i don't really feel the canucks "outplayed" the leafs.. on the scoreboard maybe.. but other than the 3 breakaways and the goal by leivo.. Andersson didn't really have to make a great safe all game.. sure there were a few deflected pucks towards him.. but those were all coming in slow motion.. more like fluttering towards him.. and the rest were clear looks by the goalie easy saves.. the leafs on the other hand.. on a more than a few occasions even though they didn't end up with a shot.. they were just passing the puck on a string in the canucks zone.. matthew deked around a defender on multiple occasion from the faceoff dot.. whatever on to the next... but they better start putting some wins together or they'll be out of the playoff by new years.. with calgary starting to look like the team from last year and arizona doesn't look like it's going anywhere.. i dunno if we'll have enough in the tank to compete against the nashville or vegas who both are underachieving and could get hot any time -
I agree playing pretty gets you no point. But it's the change in playstyle in the 3rd period whenever we have a lead is concerning relying on your goalie to stand on their head to bail you out while u are dumping the puck right out and let them come at u over and over again. Are the Canucks a good enough defensive team to just shut it down and defend? Their bread and butter is still offensive hockey. Why change style when what u were doing the previous periods was working for you? As for the top of my head well I'm just going with game that we didnt blow a lead and that one stood out just coz rangers were a bad team. Let's just say there wasn't another game that they were badly outplayed in the 3rd.. that's still 5 of 12.. no team is perfect yes, but how many teams out there.. good/decent teams.. not the bottom feeders are getting thoroughly outplayed in almost 50% of the games they are in leading after 2?
-
not really.. even though we are 10-1-1.. we have blown 4 leads in the 3rd period.. 2 of them we came back to win in OT or shootout.. the other 2 we lost.. that's 4 out of 12 with the lead.. so out of the 12 games that we had a lead going into the 3rd period.. we have blown 4 of them.. so 33%.. we came back to win 2 of them but that's still a blown lead in the 3rd.. and that's not including games that we were badly outplayed in the 3rd period.. the rangers game come to the top of my head... i don't think it's blowing it out of proportion when i think it's fair to say 50% or more of our games when leading after 2.. we were not just outplayed.. but badly outplayed in the 3rd
-
i didn't watch the game today.. but in general when we have a lead.. green will sit back and try to turtle the lead... doesn't matter if we are having a great game or not.. he just sits player in the 3rd and watch the team gets peppered with shots.. at least that's the case with most of our leads that turns into a lost or blown lead.. not sure about todays game as i didn't watch it
