  1. lol look at his production against good teams.. it's non existent.. padding stats against bad teams doesn't make you a top 6
  2. EP: if extended prolly willander lekkerimaki 1st and a 2nd Hughes: similar maybe replace lekkerimaki with a different prospect Would love to move miller for any one of those 2.. but if they are moving EP and hughes.. they are rebuilding.. they have no use for a miller with a NMC
  3. challenge me?? we gave up 65 goals in 19 games against the playoff teams since RT took over and with a healthy demko down the stretch.. we were massive outchanced out shot attempted in 90% of those games.. after demko came back he was good on some and very mediocre on others.. the save % average was around .913 914.. demko was at or above that number 8 out of 17 games and sub .900 in 8 of them.. this was when he was healthy and started to look good again.that's 3.42 goals against per game and that was with demko starting to look good and the team playing with more "structure" that number needs to drop to closer to 2.5 for us to be competitive that's a huge massive ask. their corsi rating during even strength in games since RT took over against the good teams is hovering around 40% meaning we are usually outplayed on even strength we gave up 172 goals in 45 games against the playoff teams the entire season.. let's take away your empty net goals we gave up a grand total of 13 that's still 159 in 45 games.. we gave up 5 empty net goals since RT took over so no empty net goals ain't the reason why our record is so bad against those teams. so against the rangers we would have lost 5-4 instead of 6-4 2-1 against the bruins 3-1 aginst the kings 2-0 against the king 4-2 against the krakens so we would have still lost by mutliple goals in 3 of the 5 games??
  4. terrible trade we get eichel for max maybe 3 years before he walks so whats the difference between 3 years of eichel and 2 years of EP? so it's really just to get an extra 3/4c a prospect and a late late 1st rounder. and like hell eichel is going to waive his nmc to go from vegas to vancouver lol so it's a non starter
  5. i dunno boston saids hi last season in the regular season. whether we make the playoff or not this year will all be depending on whether we can be .500 against the playoff teams and whether we can maintain the record we had against the non playoff teams. we were simply amazing against the bad teams as the record indicated and we weren't good against the good teams.. if we can climb to .500 against the playoff teams we are for sure a playoff team.. but that would still require us to maintain the amazing record against the bad teams or non playoff teams.. but like you said most teams can beat anyone on most nights.. so whether or not we can continue that pace?? i'm not sure.. if we can't maintain that pace against the bad teams.. getting to just .500 against the playoff teams might and probably won't be enough.
  6. lol so we based whether we can compete or not against a team based on 3 games?? well then i'll say with certainty we can't compete with detroit who clobbered us 11-3 in 2 games? Demko haven't proven he can get thru playing more than 50 games a season.. he started breaking down after 50 game in the season before last and he was god awful in net the 1st half of last season prior o his injury.. and it wasn't just because of the defence.. he was letting in weak goals bad goals.. he was as awful as martin. he bounced back after the injury.. but then again we played 70% of the games against teams that are inferior on paper so who knows if he'll be back to his peak form.. so basically what you are saying.. the canucks should be competing for the pacific division title coz every other team sucks compared to us.. we are as good as vegas.. edmonton will suck coz they PP won't be as successful we are way better than the LAK and seattle should also be should be battling for the pacific title because they are probably as good as us?
  7. i hope for the players and teams sake that the development staff will handle them properly
  8. i mean they aren't unlike the canucks.. their ahl is where all their prospects go to rot just like ours.. since i dunno when we have 1 prospect that graduated from ahl with any success and that's demko.. everyone else we are still waiting.. all of our draft picks that had success on this team skipped the ahl.. all our prospect that have no success went thru the ahl.. virtanen juolevi lind and whoever else maybe soon to be podz and hogs.. all i've hear from the prospect is hype and potential in the AHL yet to see one outside goalies to turn the hype potential into something. fox just went straight from ncaa to the nhl so rangers didn't even have to develop him much
  9. lol you feel like we can compete with VGK? so then we should be a stanley cup contender? LA don't need kopitar to lead them in scoring technically fiala would have lead the way if he wasn't injured at over a ppg. Dubois can transition into that 1c and kopitar can slip into the 2c. the only questionable thing about LA king is goaltending which they manage to navigate with a rotation of mediocre goalies Edmonton relies on PP to win games sure but at least they'll get there in the regular season to dominate on the PP and cement their place in the standing calgary who knows seattle might be a fluke but maybe not they are very rounded like you said it's unlikely we beat out LAK VGK SEA EDM for a top 3 guaranteed playoff spot and prolly be fighting one of them for the wildcard + maybe a team like nashville or minnesota whoever's not in their top 3
  10. it's unrealistic regardless at anytime unless bedard struggles in his 1st season or something.. i dont think Chicago would even consider trading the 1st overall for EP.. honestly i don't see any team that would even consider a trade like this unless it's like a middling team on the cupse of being a good team somehow won the lottery.. even if EP will sign a 8 year contract with chicago.. chicago don't have the up and coming prospect or players currently on the roster to even compete likely within that 7-8 years window.. you can't just build a team thru free agency.. that doesn't work in the current nhl.
  11. partically yes but i think the other part have to do with politicians in vancouver dont give a f about sports franchise. i mean didn't we originally drop out of hosting world cup coz the government of bc say it's too expensive and backed out? finding a plot of land to build that will be convenient for the players will be hard.. finding the land and getting the city's approval will be even harder so ya.. i don't see a practice facility anytime soon unless they willing to team up with existing ones.
  12. concord pacific place is not in discussion the canucks walked away from it 3 or 4 years ago that's where they were gonna originally build it but the developer said the canucks balked and walked away.. they already stated they want the practice facility in and around the downtown area.. majority of the player lives in yaletown and JT miller lives in west Van.. they ain't gonna build it in YVR or Burnaby where the commute can be hell for the players depending on time of the day.. ideally they build it across the bridge where there's a giant lot the VPD use to park their vehicles. but i think that plot of land is zoned to be a park.. will they revisit the plaza of nation concord pacific place? i doubt it.. if they were willing to go back they'd go back already instead of continue being in limbo. my prediction the canucks wont have their own practice facility for another 5+ years.. or maybe never.. until they build a new arena
  13. i dunno what you mean by underneath rogers arena.. u mean the parking lot?? or underneath that?? pretty sure that's impossible unless the space is already there and it's just about installing a rink
  14. where's the land or location for the practice facility going to come from? it's not like he can walk up to an empty space and tell the city i want to build a practice facility right here... we all know the politicians here in vancouver is anti anything that doesn't give them a massive revenue.. nor would they grant the zoning requirement near rogers arena for a practice facility..
  15. "This time, however, the coach has the full support of general manager Patrik Allvin — and with it the moral authority to hold players accountable and make whatever changes he deems necessary to build a winning culture." lol i guess boudreau doesn't have authority to do anything nor hold players accountable
  16. sharpiro is a corporate yes man for rogers.. he'll never be replaced and bluejays will forever be mediocre like the previous team he was part of the cleveland.. sharpiro and atkin is the root of all problems..monotoya and schneider i just a muppet carrying out their orders. Sharpiro is the reason AA is gone and look at AA's team? world series winner.. annual world series contender.. best team int he majors etc..
  17. honestly i have only followed bluejays because of their wc win back in the days when carter walked it off... they are literally the only non vancouver team i follow that's in canada lol.. i couldn't stand the raptors coz media and toronto keeps shoving them as canada's team down my throat.. i wouldn't mind seattle winning.. then maybe we get to go join a championship parade of a major sports team.. god knows if we'll ever get one in our lifetime
  18. not really if we moved miller and horvat.. i think we have a very realistic chance of getting one of the top 3 picks whether it's bedard fantilli or carlsson smith reinbacher if we luck out and get any of those 3? any one of those 3 even smith would be a huge upgrade over miller in 2 years time and long term.
  19. they jays need to stop cheaping out on managers and hire one of the better ones.. they are literally wasting all their opportunity.. hell gibson is probably better than this crap with montoya and schneider.. i don't have issue with schneider as much but he's 100% a yes guy from upper management..
  20. lol this team have been #1 in team pitching all season but they are god awful in hitting?? i thought their pitching was suppose to be awful and hitting is their strength?
  21. lol is hoglander junk? in terms of value yes? you'd be lucky to get a 3rd or a 4th for hoglander right now especially when he have to clear waivers.. there'd be a lineup of teams bidding for those players and canucks offer is prolly laughable compared to others so you are offering a cap dump and 2 first for a norris caliber defenceman signed to one of the best deals in the league.. if winnipeg is even remotely interested in futures.. the conversation will start with willander and lekkerimaki + 1st and that's only starting point if you are trying to cap dump garland on top
  22. the best shot is Lady Byng for EP.. Hughes will not be sniffing the norris.. he finished like 10th after the season he just had.. he have to past the likes of makar fox dahlin hesikanen karlsson morrissey and probably a few more.. not gonna happen unless he have like a karlsson type season finish over a ppg while avg defensively. Demko probably have no shot at the vezina.. Sorokin otteginer vasilevskiy hellibuyck shesterkin saros are probably better than demko at this point he maybe able to beat out 1 or 2 but all of them? probably not.. maybe Hart if EP can somehow lead the team to the pacific crown
  23. doubt that you get 2 younger players + a player from the draft and additional 1st rounders... Eichel went for a top 10 protected 1st a good player in tuch a prospect at the time krebs and a 2nd.. you rarely see teams trade multiple future 1st rounders and teams that will be trading for EP will prolly be a middling team to a contender so those 1st would be mid to really late.. and in order to even get those values.. it would have to be a sign and trade.. no one is giving all those for a player that doesn't have a mid range term attached
  24. i dont think so.. EP have shown he can make it work with goldobins and eriksson of the world and still put up like a .98 ppg with those guys he doesn't need a kuzmenko to be shooting the lights out he just needs competent wingers.. if he can have 2 wingers that can put up 25-30 goals each he'd still be right up there.. he doesn't need a 40-50 goal winger.. so far he have 1 winger in kuzmenko.. if mik was healthy he'd easy hit 25-30.. that's better than the carosuel of wingers he had this season.. he had podz hogz boeser beau di giuseppe joshua pederson last season as a winger at certain point of the season.. if he can hit 100 points with just kuzmenko and a rotation of wingers?? u don't think he can hit 100+ points with kuzmenko and a competent winger? let say kuzmenko regress to 30 ish goals.. but the new winger whoever the hell they put on there puts up 25-30 goals.. that's actually a net gain in terms of production out of that line.. and it's total not unreasonable.
