I think EP is getting 9-10mil based on salary cap inflation regardless. 9-10mil is going to be equivalent to the current 8mil whether ppl like it or not. When the salary cap reaches 90mil+ they ain’t going to be able to use 8mil 7mil as comparison as long as ep reaches 75-80 points and if he reaches higher god knows. Also if this team doesn’t reach the playoff this year or next. It remains to be seen if EP will even be willing to go long term or try to go arbitration 1 year and leave and we be forced to trade him. With the suspect defence, and possible trading of Bo which will no doubt leave a hole and whatever we get is no guarantees to be able to replace the hole or fix other issues we are not a guaranteed playoff team

the only time i'll have issue with LTIR abuse is the bogus LTIR where a player magically is ready by game 1 of the playoff. since they'll never apply cap to the playoff.. i dunno have somethign like if a player on LTIR doesn't come back to the lineup before the regular season ends he needs to miss minimum 1 round of playoff before eligible for return

what are you talking about? franchise tagging a player still counts against the cap.. there's no such thing as a "franchise player" that doesn't count against the cap in the nfl.. if you are talking about franchise tagging.. all it does is pay the guy 1 year at the average of the top 5 players at it's position..
